Lamb of God

For those of us who didn’t make it Bloodstock this year and knowing the next round of ‘UK tour’ announcements will almost inevitably leave out Northern Ireland (argh!), tonight’s Lamb of God gig in the Limelight gives up something to be whimperingly grateful for. In fairness, LOG has returned to both the north and south of Ireland several times (take note, other bands!)

TESSERACT ANNOUNCE CANADIAN TOUR DATES IN DECEMBER!

November 8th, 2011

Band releases new music video for “Eden” and makes the track available for free download!

UK progressive metallers TESSERACT have been extremely busy for the past few months.  After announcing new vocalist Elliot Coleman, they entered the studio to record the revamped version of “Eden” (from the band’s debut album One) featuring Coleman’s vocals and a more developed instrumentation.

After the track was completed, the band went directly into shooting a music video for the single. Directed by Ganesh Rao (EMPYREAN), the video flows perfectly with the calming yet complex progressive metal arrangement.

Now, TESSERACT is giving the song “Eden” away for free!

“We’re really happy with how Eden 2.0 turned out, and as a gift to all of our wonderful friends we’d like to share it with you guys for free, as a token of our appreciation for your support over the last few years,” says bassist Amos Williams. “We had always wanted to revisit ‘Eden’ and Elliot joining our fold gave us the perfect opportunity to do such a thing. We hope that this, along with the beautiful and haunting video for its release directed by Ganesh Rao, is a fitting introduction to the world of the new TesseracT sound ahead of the new album which we aim to start writing soon.”

Fans can download the song HERE.

TESSERACT is on tour now with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and ANIMALS AS LEADERS on “The Saints and Sinners” Tour.  A list of Canadian tour dates is below.

TesseracT release ‘One’ Instrumental

October 4th, 2011
Progressive metallers TesseracT go back to their roots with the release of an instrumental version of their highly acclaimed debut album ‘One’. Fans from the guitar forum days, where founder Acle Kahney and TesseracT begun, have been requesting instrumentals ever since the band rose from the internet to the clubs, and they will not be disappointed!
Bassist Amos Williams explains:
“TesseracT began as an instrumental project in Acle’s filthy cat ridden bedroom, so it has always had quite a strong instrumental focus. That’s not to say that we don’t enjoy vocals, we love them! But, it is worth noting that with every song we write, we like for it to be able to stand up on its own with or without vocals. We’ve always had the mind to, about six months after the initial release of ‘One’, to then release the instrumental version. It’s something that the fans have always asked us to do, and we felt now was the correct time to do so.”

One instrumental is out now via itunes.
TesseracT set off on the European leg of the Lowering The Tone tour (with Vocals!) on Saturday 15 October with Chimp Spanner, and then head to the US for the Saints and Sinners tour with Between The Buried and Me and Animals As Leaders.

TESSERACT Enters the studio to record new single

August 30th, 2011

TESSERACT is in the studio for the first time with newly announced vocalist, Elliot Coleman.  Originally featured on their debut album One , the band is re-recording “Eden” with Coleman on vocals and will also be releasing a music video in for the track.  More details will be announced shortly, but in the meantime TesseracT has released studio footage of the recording process which can be seen here.

“Recently, we were lucky enough to get the chance to work again with Francesco Carmeli at Sphere Studios on the recording of our new single ‘Eden’. As with many of our tracks off of One, the song has developed somewhat since we first recorded it a few years ago. We’ve had the chance to tweak and add some spice to the song. As with everything TesseracT, it should surprise and delight the listener. We feel we’ve raised our bar, both in the context of song writing and production.”TesseracT will join BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and ANIMALS AS LEADERS on the ” Saints and Sinners!” Tour this fall.  A full list of dates can be seen below.

TESSERACT ANNOUNCE ELLIOT COLEMAN AS THEIR NEW VOCALIST

August 23rd, 2011

Progressive metallers TesseracT are very excited to announce that Elliot Coleman has joined the band as lead vocalist. Elliot’s huge range, distinctive character and brutal roars demonstrated on his work with OMNOM, Sky Eats Airplane and Zelliack made him the perfect replacement for former vocalist, Dan Tompkins.

TesseracT bassist, Amos Williams, makes the introduction: “We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce somebody special, Elliot Coleman. Some of you may know him as a member of Zelliack, Sky Eats Airplane and Of Legends, or maybe from OMNOM, or Haunted Shores. Well now he’s part of TesseracT! We’re very excited about working with Elliot as we feel he has a great talent and personality, as well as, and most importantly a voice that transcends the norm and continues the TesseracT tradition of taking things to the next level.”

Elliot’s catalogue of work is as impressive as it is extensive including numerous appearances withHaunted Shores and a guest spot on Periphery’s track “Race Car”. He most recently played bass in Washington DC tech metallers Of Legends, but as a passionate vocalist, he jumped at the chance to front TesseracT.

Elliot comments: “I’m very much excited to be a part of the juggernaut that is TesseracT. I know I have big shoes to fill as Dan is a fantastic vocalist, but i’m confident that we’ll be producing some great new music in the coming year and i’ll be adding some new flavours to this ever evolving machine”

Former vocalist Dan Tompkins left the band in July due to other life priorities.

Dan explains “It is with a heavy heart that I must announce I am leaving TesseracT. This has been the most difficult decision I have had to make in my career as a singer. My priorities in life have changed and as such I can no longer continue with the band. Our friendships are strong and I wish to thank Acle, Mos, Jay and James for all their support and dedication over the past few years. We have achieved great things, travelled the world and met many incredible people and I stand proud to say that I have been a part of the band’s success and helped to carve a wonderful album. I will hold onto these memories for the rest of my life. It has been an incredible journey and it is certainly not the end for myself or TesseracT. I look forward to new beginnings and wish my good friends all the very best for the future.”

Amos continues “You know, when you travel so far and spend so much time together, as well as achieving as much as we have over the past three years, you become like family. And it is precisely because of that close bond that we fully understand and respect Dan’s choice to no longer be a part of TesseracT. We are and will always be close friends, and hope there will be a time in the future when we will work together again. Thank you buddy for being part of the TesseracT journey, we will always have fond memories of the Dan Tompkins years!”

Approaching the line up adjustment as a progression rather than a setback, the band is already hard at work writing the follow up to the critically acclaimed album, “One” with Elliot.

The band head out on their ‘Lowering The Tone’ headline tour throughout Europe in September and October before heading to the US for the “Saints and Sinners”  Tour in November and December with Animals as Leaders and Between The Buried and Me.

TESSERACT PREPARE “EDEN” VIDEO; BEHIND-THE-SCENES PHOTOS AVAILABLE SOON

August 11th, 2011

While they have a break from the road, TESSERACT have decided to begin work on a new music video for the track, “Eden”, which appears on the band’s debut album, “One”. In association with Escape Plan Productions (www.escapeplanatx.com), “Eden” will feature the artistic vision of Director Ganesh Rao (EMPYREAN, www.facebook.com/ganeshraopage) and Director of Photography Jonny Greenwald. In regards to their new music video, bassist Amos Williams comments:

“We like to keep a close eye on what’s happening in the underground and the scene from which we were born. One day a jaw-dropping, stunning video appears on Got-Djent.com. I mean beautiful, cinematic, and emotive. Ganesh Rao created not only a great example of ‘djent’ with his entirely self created EMPYREAN project, but as director of the video, made something that has truly risen the bar for independent creators. Now, as it happened we were looking for a director to work with us for our upcoming video for ‘Eden’, so it was a no-brainer to approach Ganesh to try and make it happen. We’re very excited to see what we can create together. The hope is that it’s a piece of art, not a bullshit piece of marketing that does nothing but to self serve and ego boost the band. A lasting composition that can be enjoyed both visually and aurally. It won’t be MTV, but like all things TESSERACT, it should be intense, emotive, and enthralling.”

Behind-the-scenes photos from the video shoot will be available soon, so stay tuned for a preview of “Eden”!

Beginning this fall, TESSERACT will also join BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME and ANIMALS AS LEADERS for the ultimate progressive metal tour, “Saints And Sinners”! Dates for the tour are below, and press opportunities for TESSERACT are available. Please contactnikki.law@centurymedia.com to schedule!
