STOCKHOLM ROCK OUT -part II
Stockholm Rock Out is a new rock festival in Sweden which is now in its second year. When the first edition of the festival took place on May 1st it was almost disastrous because the giant volcano clouds forced most of the headliners to cancel their appearances but this time all measures worked well without any unexpected problems or last minute changes. By European standards, the band line up in Stockholm Rock Out was somewhat extravagant. The list included many great bands which haven’t been here in ages, like Keel and Tuff, and there were also some unique one off performances like the one with Great White w/ Paul Shortino on vocals and the farewell show of Zinny J. Zan. Like the organizers advertised, this festival is indeed organized for music lovers by music lovers.

REVIEW AND PICTURES BY MARKO SYRJÄLÄ
Rarely, if ever, has one festival organization gone through so many difficulties as Stockholm Rockout faced out during this spring. First, there were many cancellations for whatever reasons, even some headliners got canceled, and finally the volcano eruption in Iceland and its ash clouds meant that most of the U.S. bands not reaching Sweden in time. The organizers of Rockout didn’t give up and they decided to organize a small-scale one day event with bands which were now available. The actual Rockout -festival will then be re-arranged for later next September.

Zinny Zan of the Swedish band Zan Clan
Interviewed by Anders Sandvall
Thanks to the band for supplying me with promo pics.
Thanks to Robert at GMR Music Group for setting up the interview.
Zinny Zan is one of the inventors and founders of the Swedish glam/sleaze genre. He has recently released a new album with his friends in Zan Clan so its the perfect time to ask this legend some questions about his long career in acts like Easy Action, Shotgun Messiah, and of course his new album and the band Zan Clan.
