James Rivera’s METAL ASYLUM — A Tribute To His History & True Metal
Houston, Texas-based national recording artist James Rivera (HELSTAR, MALICE) has formed a new project entitled METAL ASYLUM, which is slated to be launched in February 2012. The concept of METAL ASYLUM was inspired by two of Rivera’s previous endeavors; the first tribute band the singer ever created entitled “Project Rivera”, which was a tribute to classic 80’s metal, in addition to a more recent specialty show of his known as “James Rivera, A Tribute To His Metal History”. The front man has recruited several quality local Houston musicians to perform material from his own music career, in addition to fan favorites from the forerunners of classic and true metal. Audiences can expect to witness Rivera and company’s renditions of the Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Mercyful Fate, Metal Church, plus many others! Currently three regional Texas shows are scheduled to take place early this year in San Antonio, College Station and Houston. James Rivera’s METAL ASYLUM promises to deliver a pulse-pounding, headbanging, horns in the air experience for every metalhead!

SEVEN WITCHES will be supporting legendary metallers ARMORED SAINT on three special East Coast dates later this fall.
Commented Frost: “I am stoked to do this run of dates with my brothers in Armored Saint. This is a killer paring for the East Coast, but for me it’s a dream come true. Not only am I a fan of Saint’s music, but there are so many family ties with those guys since Joey Vera for several years played bass — on albums and live — in SEVEN WITCHES and he has mastered, engineered, and/or mixed on all the WITCHES albums since Exiled To Infinity And One in 2002. It’s gonna be a fun night and WITCHES will try our best to warm you all up for the mighty Saint. This is also a very special for us because it will be a one-time run with this special lineup. We will be playing new music from our latest album Call Upon The Wicked, the classics we are known for, plus dusting off a few we haven’t played in a while.”

FrostByte Records. Call Upon The Wicked was recorded at Lickman Studios by Frost with co-producers Mike LePond and Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning), who also mixed the record.
Today, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles is hosting an exclusive stream of “Lilith,” the second track off SEVEN WITCHES’ upcoming new full-length, Call Upon The Wicked. Scheduled for a June 28, 2011 release via FrostByte Records with North American distribution by eOne Entertainment, Call Upon The Wicked was recorded at Lickman Studios by founding guitarist Jack Frost with co-producers LePond and Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning), who also mixed the record.
Commented Frost of the track: “This tune just rips. ‘Lilith’ has so many elements of yesterday and today. We wanted a heavy yet melodic vibe with awesome melody. Hope you all like this one. We worked really hard on it.”
Their first record since 2007’s Deadly Sins, Call Upon The Wicked finds Frost reunited with former vocalist James Rivera (Helstar). Rounding out the lineup is bassist Mike LePond (Symphony X) and drummer Taz Marazz, who each play an integral role in crafting what is easily SEVEN WITCHES’ finest offering to date. Said Hellride in an early review of the record: “…this is pure heavy metal thunder the ’80s way: anthemic, hell-raising, and adrenalizing…” Added Wickedchannel: “Jack Frost brings us the sharp riffs that we expect from him and James Rivera is as versatile as ever on vocals. Every member of the band plays an integral role in the biting sound offered on Call Upon The Wicked.”
“Fields Of Fire,” the new video from American heavy metallers SEVEN WITCHES, can be viewed below. Rounding out the lineup is bassist Mike LePond (Symphony X) and drummer Taz Marazz, who each play an integral role in crafting what is easily SEVEN WITCHES’ finest offering to date.
Commented Frost: “I would just like to say thank you in advance to all of you who have been loyal to SEVEN WITCHES over the years and have waited so patiently for our new release. We also want to tip our hats to the fellow metalheads out there with open minds willing to give a listen to a great new record. Call Upon The Wicked is our latest project, a concept record that was a work in progress. I’m so proud to be releasing such an amazing product of our dedication. The time it took to put out this new addition to the ‘WITCHES family, along with the blood, sweat and tears it took to make it, has been nothing but a wonderful experience for us. This album really captured a dream for me, as it is combination of classic SEVEN WITCHES style mixed with many of our greatest influences. I can honestly say that our fans will truly understand the devotion and loyalty we have shown to ourselves and our new music, and they will appreciate this record as much as we do. I am honored to be a part of this release, and thank you all so much for checking out our new baby, Call Upon The Wicked.”

Many years have passed since the last SEVEN WITCHES album saw the light of day and guitarist/mainman Jack Frost decided it was time to give the fans what they wanted… and brought back James Rivera (HELSTAR) to front the group once again.
With the monstrous bass and songwriting of Mike LePond (SYMPHONY X) and drums from Taz Marazz, Jack Frost and the guys recently completed work on a new album with Joey Vera (ARMORED SAINT, FATES WARNING) handling the mixing. Entitled “Call Upon The Wicked”, the CD features material that ranges in sound from classic JUDAS PRIEST to a touch of RAINBOW. There’s even an epic song featuring female vocals, a new step in the band’s chapter.
