The Ordher could be classied as new, but old band hailing from Brazil. The band’s line-up consists of the recognizable Brazilian extreme metal veterans from other, now defunct, bands such as Rebaellium and Nephasth. The Ordher basically follows the paved path of the extreme death metal with the utter brutal vocals and lethal guitarworks by Fabiano Penna. The three piece’s debuted on the WEAPONIZE album which recently came out by Unique Leader Records. The guitarist Fabiano Penna unveils more about the debut album and why his previous band ceased to exist.

ChaosFear hailing from Brazil delivers highly skilled and aggressive thrash metal to the bone. Even though the whole band is pretty new on the metal map, the whole trio has gained experience by playing in other local Brazilian bands. The demo debut already proved the trio’s skills to create asskicking and whipping thrash.
The Brazilians’ debut album ONE STEP BEHIND ANGER will be re-released with extra bonus material added. The band’s drummer Danilo de Freitas explains a little bit more about the upcoming album and some historical aspects of ChaosFear.

Paulo Xisto Pinto Junior of SEPULTURA
Interview, live & backstage pictures by Luxi Lahtinen
In March 15th 2006, the highly popular Swedish melo-metallers, In Flames and Brazilian metallers Sepultura, arrived in Helsinki under the moniker "Tuska Winter War" – bringing over 1000 fans of both bands to the House of Culture, Helsinki. A bit of an odd thing was, at least in my opinion, that it wasnt In Flames supporting Sepultura, but Sepultura supporting In Flames this time around. So strange is the world sometimes…
I got an opportunity to meet Paulo, the bass player of Sepultura approx. 5 hours before the bands showtime – and we not only concentrated talking about the bands current European tour, Sepulturas new album DANTE XXI, etc. but also got kinda excited over talking about the past times; one special bass guitar, how the times have changed in general, and how some (poor) people have gained some weight and grown old over the years – and became just looking a bit different. A simple and straight bullshitting is such jolly good fun from time to time, whatever excuse you may have to do so.
News or not, but Sepultura is still going strong these days – just no matter what people may think of them. If you think otherwise, well, lets give Paulo a chance to prove you completely wrong and straighten out a few facts via this interview…
Igor Cavalera & Derrick Green of Sepultura
Interviewed in Jan. 1999 by David Lee
SEPULTURA are experiencing both the best and worst of times all in the same instant. The departure of founder member, lead vocalist and brother, Max Cavalera, seemed to be the end of one of metal’s heaviest bands, that is until the survival instincts of the remaining three members took over. A new vocalist was found and work continued on a new album. This is usually where most bands change direction, not the case with SEPULTURA, not in the least. “AGAINST” sounds and feels exactly like SEPULTURA records have always sounded and felt. The record is harsh, brutal and tribal yet maintains a lyrical intelligence that your average death metal band may be able to emulate but could never produce themselves. Along with American vocalist, Derrick Green, the remaining members of SEPULTURA have created one of their finest records which includes the bonus feature of having a track co-written by METALLICA’s Jason Newsted. What exactly will happen next for this now international metal unit is a question that can only be answered with time but one thing is certain, there is a renewed strength and a feeling of power surrounding the band that is infectious. One listen to “AGAINST” and you will be convinced that SEPULTURA is here to stay. I had the chance to speak with both Igor Cavalera and Derrick Green on the phone from New York.
