Brutal Assault – Jaromer Czech

September 19th, 2017

The experience at Brutal Assault 2016 was an ultimate great and brilliant one that returning to the festival was definitely a must. It isn’t any wonder why Brutal Assault is an insane credible pleasant fest because of the stellar line-up, a lot of great food,  a wonderful old fortress as a festival area, and above all….cheap beer! This festival easily blows most other festivals away. Once again the line-up  was huge, but still varied, covering a wide range of extreme from the side to the side. All in all 110 bands had once again been booked for the four day metal inferno. Trying to witness as many bands as possible was quite challenging and near impossible. Here is the brief article of the mighty Brutal Assault.

Jalometalli 2014 – Oulu, Finland

September 18th, 2014

8-9.8 2014

Oulu, Finland

The mighty Jalometalli Open Air Metal festival strikes with an outstanding awesome killer line-up to maintain its true metal status on the Finnish festival map. The festival is known for relying on old school metal to offer everything from traditional metal to extreme metal. Above all, it is also the classic names who have never ever visited Finland before that make this special. The legendary Teatria club is now history as it was torn down. Fortunately the organization of the Jalometalli festival managed to find a new location to arrange a true ass kicking festival. If having Slayer headline last year was a real dream come, then getting King Diamond to headline this year’s event was another jackpot for Jalometalli indeed. Of course getting both Dark Angel and Loudness booked for Jalometalli was also killer. The place was packed. When the second day arrived a merciless rain storm hit the area drowning everything. Unfortunately, Testament suffered from the rain.

Once again the Metal Rules team hit the ground of Oulu to witness several absolutely killer bands. The whole Jalometalli festival is so unique and one of a kind that anyone reading this article should take a glance at the offering of the festival. Here is a brief article on the fest. So the time had come all of us to leave bitter sweet farewells to the old venue where we have enjoyed great music and great company throughout the years. Read the rest of this entry »

Hellfest Festival 2012

@ Clisson, France

15th – 17th June 2012

Review by Kirsty Birkett-Stubbs

Photography by Sabrina Dersel

Move over Batman – there’s a new symbol dominating the night sky as Hellfest’s mighty H calls brothers to arms for a weekend, that quite frankly, would strike fear into the heart of many a-charging army. As one of the official t-shirt’s states: Keep repeating – it’s only music… it’s only music… it’s only music…

November 25th, 2011

Sacred Reich from Phoenix, Arizona is one of the classic bands of the ”second generation” of American thrash metal, alongside the likes of Testament, Forbidden and Vio-lence. Their breakthrough came with the ”Surf Nicaragua” EP (1988), an impressive union of powerful metal riffs and the uncompromising aggression and political commitment of punk. More classic releases, like ”The American way” (1990) and ”Independent” (1993) followed, before Sacred Reich folded in the year 2000. Happily, the band returned to the live scene seven years later and will be making their highly anticipated SRF-debut in 2012 – still featuring their classic line-up of vocalist/bassist Phil Rind, guitarists Wiley Arnett and Jason Rainey and drummer Greg Hall.

Tickets are available at our website: There you can also find more information about tickets, prices and accommodation.

Around 70 bands will perform on our 5 stages next summer. The following bands have been confirmed so far:

Wiley Arnett – Sacred Reich / The Human Condition

October 28th, 2007

Interview conducted by HannTu
Live Pics by HannTu

I did an interview with Wiley Arnett, guitarist for Sacred Reich and The Human Condition in July, right before the show in London and Wacken. Apologies for its lateness, but it was a truly amazing experience to be able to talk to Wiley, who was really humble and appreciative of the fans, as well as being immensely talkative about everything from coffee to political issues to families.

Wacken 2007

October 9th, 2007

Wacken Open Air 2007

Wacken is a blessed mecca of the whole metal world. Again this year it was entirely sold out when ten thousands of metal manics travelled from all around the world to gather and witness plenty of ass kicking bands. The weather forecast for Wacken didn’t look that promising. The chaotic and muddy mess caused by long and heavy rains rampaged the ground during the whole summer. The  festival often provides a survival test to every visitor with its mud and crap. But but gods of metal had seen the light and blessed the whole three day metal inferno with tremendous extreme heat and a sunny weekend. Things could not be better…sun, metal and beer. That combination is nothing but an utter perfect way to enjoy the metallic mayhem at Wacken.

As usual, the true metal commando team from Metal-Rules.Com was there again witnessing a helluva lot of great bands and above all an unexpected huge fire in the main area. Feel, see and enjoy this article.

SACRED REICH – Wiley Arnett

August 21st, 2005

Wiley Arnett (January 1996)

Interview by EvilG

Here is the very first interview I’ve ever done for

HUGE thanks to Wiley for taking the time out to answer a few of my questions. I hope you all enjoyed reading it, as much as I enjoyed the opportunity to ask one of my favorite bands some questions. If any bands out there want to see reviews of their product, or if you have any info to pass on to me, e-mail me. I am open to any suggestions, criticisms, or comments, please send them on.
