Imagine a weekend of nothing but pure heavy fucking metal.
Imagine being surrounded by the friendliest 15,000 people who share the same passion for heavy metal music and lifestyle. Imagine a place where it is respectable to have beer for breakfast and drinking until you drop in an accomplishment. Imagine a festival where you can see over 100 heavy metal bands and pretty much none of them suck.

Ladies and gents, this ain’t no heavy metal fairytale!

This is Bloodstock Open Air – the greatest heavy metal music festival of our times. It’s a place where metal heads run free, headbang until their heads roll off, shout ‘SLAYEEER!’ and avoid shower for 4 days straight.
It just does not get any better than this.

Our Metal-Rules.com UK team were privileged to attend Bloodstock Open Air 2013 and see things for themselves…here’s a ‘little’ insight of what went down.

Sacred mother tongue have been a driving force in the metal scene since first inception in 2004, after a creative change of hands the band solidified a line-up in 2008 consisting of:

Darrin South (vocals),

Andy James (Guitar),

Josh Gurner (Bass) and

Lee Newell (Drums).

The new line-up went on to create; Revenge Is Personal (2007) – EP, The Ruin of Man (2009)A Light Shines (2012) – EP and the upcoming album Out of the Darkness (2013). I caught up with Darrin and Andy to discuss the newly released EP as well as the new eagerly anticipated album.

SACRED MOTHER TONGUE UNVEIL NEW VIDEO

August 8th, 2012

‘Evolve/Become’: the stunning video
Taken from the EP ‘A Light Shines’
out September 3rd

Sacred Mother Tongue have this week unveiled the dramatic video for ‘Evolve/Become’, the lead track on their brand new EP ‘A Light Shines’, which will be released through EMI Label Services on September 3rd.

The video, shot by Dark Fable Media, is set in an apocalyptic London with the band performing amongst the smoking cityscape, yet from this grim dystopian horror emerges new life, reflecting the hope for the future that the band’s EP represents.

In less than 24 hours the video exceeded 10,000 views and climbing, and rock fans will be able to watch it from this week on Scuzz TV, where it’s just been playlisted, with other music channels to follow.

Sacred Mother Tongue celebrate the release of ‘A Light Shines’ with a London show at Islington’s 02 Academy on Monday 10th September. Doors open at 7pm, with tickets priced at £6 (subject to booking fee). Support bands for this show will be announced soon as will further live shows for 2012.

‘A Light Shines’ precedes Sacred Mother Tongue’s second album, ‘Out Of The Darkness’, which will be released in early 2013. For a further taste of the EP check out the lyric video for the track ‘Seven’ on Sacred Mother Tongue TV, along with a live performance of the track ‘Demons’ which will feature on the album next year.
