SWEDENROCK 2014 – Solvesborg Sweden

July 19th, 2014

Marko Syrjala, and Patrick Clement

Hell yeah! It’s time to enter the mighty Swedenrock Festival. A fantastic and the most enjoyable rock and metal festival on earth. It has to be pointed out that Metal Rules has covered Sweden Rock since 2001! Therefore, it is quite logical to cover the festival again. The 2014 line up presented a wide range of metal and hard rock. Approximately 80 metal and rock bands offered one hell of an experience for attendees. Sweden Rock has been successful during the past decade as the festival has always been sold out. This year wasn’t an exception as the fest was sold out despite a lousy economic situation worldwide. It has become quite logical for us to give an in depth article on several bands performing at Sweden Rock to all the readers out there. The weather was both rainy and sunny during these four days. The team was there to witness the bands, not for some kinda beach party crap. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover every bloody band, but hopefully you will have a pleasant reading experience… Rock on!

ROBIN BECK – solo artist

July 10th, 2014

Robin Beck

Robin Beck is an American singer, best known for her 1988 single “First Time” which topped the charts in the UK and in Germany. The song had come to widespread public attention via its use in a Coca-Cola commercial. But Robin has done a lot more than just that. Her first album, SWEET TALK came out in 1979 and altogether she has released 9 studio albums, the latest one UNDERNEATH in 2013, and several successful singles including “Save Up All Your Tears”, “Tears In the Rain” and “Wrecking Ball”. In early June I was fortunate enough to meet Robin in Sweden Rock festival and we then discussed about many various topics including the past, the present and the future of Robin Beck.  Read on!

Here is the new and latest from the Robin Beck camp. Her brand new album UNDERNEATH was released at the end of August and since the album is amazing I thought it was time to have a chat with Robin in order to hear what she’s been up to. We talked about the album, how it was to work with her husband James Christian (House Of Lords) on UNDERNEATH, about her co-operation with Swedish guitarist/producer/songwriter Tommy Denander and about live shows and touring. Enjoy! Read the rest of this entry »

Since I think Mr Christian is an amazing artist I got in touch with him in order to get to know a little about the new album and the story behind it. Read and enjoy what the master of AOR music has to say.

The American melodic rock singer Robin Beck is now back with her new album DO YOU MISS ME. Her last album CAN?T GET OFF came back in 1994 and I decided to check out what Robin has been up to until now. She?s  maybe most known for the masses for the Coca-Cola theme tune ?First time? but she has also done what?s considered to be one of the best  female melodic rock album ever TROUBLE OR NOTHING from 1989.
