Metal for a Cause – Headbangers Balls at the O2 Academy in Oxford, UK

While visiting Oxford, I had the chance to see the Headbangers Balls tour at the O2 Academy. It was both face-meltingly metal and heart-warmingly wonderful, as the reason for the tour was to promote awareness of testicular cancer and raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. You can be sure I bought some merch to support that cause – I’m now the proud owner of a Headbangers Balls shirt that reads “I showed my balls for the cause” across the back; which in my case of course is a figurative statement. But no less metal!

Reign Of Fury release new video ‘BORN TO DIE’

October 24th, 2012

Reign Of Fury release their new Video entitled ‘Born To Die’, taken from their debut album ‘World Detonation’.

This is a light hearted, riff snorting romp through their ‘Born To Die’ track, bringing what Reign Of Fury love the most – metal and fun – to your screens!

Mastered by Nicolas Decleve, Mixed by Dave Cleaves and Jon Priestley at Abatis Studios (UK)
Director: Andy Pilkington

New album ‘World Detonation‘ was released August 2012.

Bison Steed – Lead Vocals
Jon Priestley – Guitars/Backing Vocals
Ed Fury Westlake – Guitars/Backing Vocals
Heavy Matt Earl – Bass/Backing Vocals
Magic Dave – Drums

REIGN OF FURY bring their first full length album ‘World Detonation’ to the fore, and what a complete stormer of an album it is too!

Hailing from the South West/Midlands in the UK, these 5 guys have blended their collective musical influences and come up with an ripping blend of fierce technical, old school metal, smashing early Testament and NWOBHM together, along with hints of punk and storming melodies thrown in for good measure. ‘World Detonation’ in part harks harks back to the much missed sound of classic 80′s thrash but manages to keep its feel and groove modern and fresh.

Formed initially in 2006, the band really started picking up steam in 2009 after bringing in vocalist Matt ‘Bison’ Wrathbone (Gash, Black Flame Dispute). Things now finally all in place, they toured throughout 2010 and started work on their first EP ‘Psycho Intentions’ which was then released in March 2011 through Goodlife Recordings. The video for the title track ‘Psycho Intentions’ proved an instant hit, gaining plays on Scuzz TV and has continued to garner good hits on Youtube.

2012 saw things really shift up a gear for REIGN OF FURY. Playing their first ever Festival show at Bloodstock Open Air, they also released their first full length album ‘World Detonation’ which is already receiving critical acclaim, and have kept up the momentum with the release on the 3rd September of their video for the album title track.

Tour dates are now pending, leading up to a short Belgian tour before their show at the Wizzfest in Belgium, March 2013

Reign Of Fury are blasting their way through the remainder of 2012 and will without doubt, give the start of 2013 a most serious kicking. Make sure you catch their ridiculously fine debut album ‘World Detonation’ and prepare for an almighty monster thrash aural assault in the coming months, it’s going to be a blast!
