RAM present brand new video clip for “I Am The End”!

July 15th, 2013

10th anniversary show in Gothenburg announced!

Swedish heavy metal act RAM have just recently shot a video for the song “I Am The End” from their latest release, “Death.” Metal Blade Records has partnered with Revolver Magazine to premiere the video in North America.

“I Am The End” was directed by Martin Högdal, edited by Leonard Palmestål and written by Oscar Carlquist – the same team that worked on the “Flame Of The Tyrants” video. The song was written by Harry Granroth and Oscar Carlquist.

Oscar Carlquist comments on the video: “The ‘I Am The End’ video shows a completely different side of the cinematic vision of RAM than what we created in the ‘Flame Of The Tyrants’ video. This video displays a lot of esoteric aspects, and has many layers of symbolism that will not be seen at once. We thank everybody involved for their outstanding dedication to making flesh out of our disturbed visions.”

Fans can order “Death” and watch the video for “Flames Of The Tyrants” at metalblade.com/ram.

RAM release video for ‘Flame Of The Tyrants’

December 7th, 2011

RAM release video for ‘Flame Of The Tyrants’ exclusively via Rock Hard Germany and reveal details on bonus-DVD for upcoming new album ‘Death’! “Death” to be released January 31st, 2012!

Swedish Heavy Metal tyrants RAM make a return with their third album Death, to be released January, 27th/30th, 2012 via Metal Blade Records in Europe!

In collaboration with Rock Hard Germany RAM have now launched a video clip for the brand new song Flame Of The Tyrants! Surf over HERE to check out the clip and song!

Comments RAM: “Filming the video for Flame of the tyrants was a very cool and almost surreal experience, we filmed it in an abandoned sandquarell outside of Gothenburg. We wanted that Mad Max II feeling to it and I think we accomplished that. We had a great time on set and on behalf of RAM I would like to thank the Mad Ram gangers and everybody involved for making our vision come to life in such a brilliant manner!”

In other news Metal Blade Records announces that there will be a limited first edition of the European CD that will include a bonus-DVD. The limited first edition will be sold as a regular CD, so make sure to pre-order while copies last!

The bonus-DVD includes the full show RAM played at the Keep It True festival April, 24th 2010 plus the video clip for Flame Of The Tyrants! The show was filmed by Visions In Fear (www.visions-in-fear.de).

Make also sure to surf over to the landing page at http://www.metalblade.com/ram where you will find the pre-order options and the new song Defiant! Death will be available on CD and on vinyl! A shirt bundle is also available there!

Death track listing:
1. Death
2. Comes From The Mouth Beyond
3. I Am The End
4. Release Me
5. Defiant
6. Frozen
7. Under The Scythe
8. Hypnos
9. Flame Of The Tyrants
10. 1 7 7 1

RAM was created back in ’99 and released their first E.P Sudden Impact in 2003. After playing numerous festivals and a support tour for Sebastian Bach they released their first long player Forced Entry in late 2005 which brought the entire old school Heavy Metal community to its knees. RAM hit the road with Dark Tranquillity, did some Scandinavian shows with Gamma Ray and played gigs and festivals all over Europe.

In 2008 the band returned to the studio with producer Johan Reivén to record the album Lightbringer which was released in 2009 via AFM Records. This time they really took the time to explore the true heavy metal sound. The recording of the album took 10 months of nothing but strife for pure Heavy Metal perfection. RAM also headed out on a headline European tour to promote the album.

In 2011 RAM went back into the studio to record their third album Death. This time they worked with producers Per Stålberg and Olle Björk to create their best album to date by far. Live shows as support for Swedish extreme black metal band Watain followed as well as destroying some festivals.

The world trembles in fear before the release of the metal behemoth that is Death. RAM are back! Necks will be broken!

RAM is:
Oscar Carlquist – Vocals
Morgan Pettersson – Drums
Harry Granroth – Guitar
Daniel Johansson – Guitar
Tobias Peterson – Bass

This album is filled with a dark, sinister energy that comes from beyond music and heavy metal. We are very excited about this album because it’s truly RAM caught in it’s raw essence, we recorded it live in the studio to try to offer our soul upon this altar of sonic steel. Beware we have brought “Death” upon the world!”

RAM

RAM has not yet signed any deal for the release of “Death”, but negotiations continue, a release this fall is planned.

RAM’s upcoming album “Death” will feature a guest appearance by Swedish multi artist Freddie Wadling who has had a very successful solo career as well as played with Swedish Cult acts as The Leather Nun, Blue for two and Fleshquartet (Fläskkvartetten).

RAM will release a 7 inch vinyl single through German label High Roller Records entitled “Under the Scythe” on the 13th of May 2011. The song will be featured on RAM’s upcoming album “Death”. The B side will contain a cover version of Mercyful Fate’s song “Evil” from their classic 1983 album “Melissa”. The song is a “duet” with Oscar Carlquist and Hellbutcher from Swedish cult black metal band Nifelheim, dont expect Hellbutcher’s vocals to be anything near what he does in Nifelheim.

RAM – New album mastered!

March 3rd, 2011

The yet untitled new RAM album has been mastered by Dragan Tanskovich at Bohus Recordings and is ready for release. RAM are currently in negotiations with a number of record companies concerning the release of the new album.

Oscar Carlquist, vocals has the following to say about the new album:

Again we are pushing the envelope of the RAM sound, this album differs quite a bit from our 2009 release “Lightbringer”, the sound is rawer and has a strong nerve and honest live like feel but still it is extremely powerful it was produced by me and Harry Granroth (guitars) and Per Stålberg and Olle Björk and recorded at Welfare Studios here in Gothenburg, Dragan Tanskovich is also a huge part of this by contributing massive power in the mastering process.

Songwise we are showing new sides of the band, the album is a 10 song sonic rollercoaster displaying an array of  different styles, emotions tempos and agressions but all within the concept of traditional Heavy Metal of course. In all honesty I can’t choose one single song that is representative of the sound of the album as a whole. We are really pleased with this album that feels like a really cool direction to take from Lightbringer and we can’t wait to blast these new song live!

RAM – Vocalist Oscar Carlquist

RAM – Vocalist Oscar Carlquist

Interviewed by Alan Gilkeson

Formed because they were sick of the misinterpretation of Metal, Ram stand tall against the tide, ‘wolves in a world of sheep.’ Influenced by all the classic Metal bands, writhing with power and muscle, screeching vocals and classy old school Metal riffing, these fellows harken towards a better time, yet keep it fresh all at once. Vocalist Oscar Carlquist, whose voice goes from King Diamondesque to Halford styled in the drop of a hat, sat down and answered some questions for us, introducing Ram to the world.
