POWERGLOVE ANNOUNCE NEW TOUR DATES, PAX EAST APPEARANCE

April 6th, 2012

(New York, NY) – Nostalgia metal outfit, POWERGLOVE has announced a mini-tour aptly dubbed the “NO SURVIVORS TOUR” with The Protomen. Support will come courtesy of Creature Feature and Danimal Cannon. First, the band will make an appearance at the widely popular gaming convention PAX East which takes every spring in Boston, MA. POWERGLOVE will perform on April 7th at 6PM in the Magfest Jamspace along with Armcannon and Battlecake. The band adds their own words:

“It has been said by the sages of our village that nerds like us cannot truly experience love or happiness.  If we could, we’d love to announce our miniature co-headlining tour of maximum happiness with our old friends The Protomen.  Our current plans of recording and self imposed isolation will have to wait, since this is something we’ve wanted to do for years and no man or beast or manbeast will stand in our way.  Put away your anime love pillows for an evening and come join us for a spectacular celebration of nerd culture throughout the Northeast quadrant!  Your pillow will still be there when you get home, don’t worry.”

The band released “Saturday Morning Apocalypse” last year to much critical praise, “Saturday Morning Apocalypse proves that fast paced metal guitar solos and riffs can be injected into cartoon theme songs and be extremely fun to listen to,” says cosmosgaming.com.

The record features 11 tracks of mind pounding metal renditions of popular Saturday morning cartoons we all remember.

1. X-men
2. Gotta Catch Em All (Pokémon)
3. The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest
4. This Is Halloween (The Nightmare Before Christmas)
5. Batman
6. Transformers

September 22nd, 2010

(New York, NY) — POWERGLOVE have released the second video teaser surrounding their next record “Saturday Morning Apocalypse” which is due out September 28th, 2010. Combining power metal style with nostalgic theme songs of popular 1980′s and 90’s theme songs, the band has tapped into the minds of generation X and Y with their most interesting release to date.

The SECOND teaser trailer with morphing album art can be seen here: http://bit.ly/agyBWG

“Saturday Morning Apocalypse came out brighter and darker, faster and slower than our previous releases,” says drummer Bassil Silver. This is the band’s first record with eOne Music and this time they’re taking their songs in a new direction. The band had previously stuck to 8 bit Nintendo game theme songs. However, this new release is their take on Saturday morning cartoons and movies that anyone who’s grown up in the 80′s will immediately recognize. Silver concludes with, “No matter what we write, we know all the comments will be about how bizarre we look, how ridiculous this track list is, and the fact that we somehow got Tony Kakko to sing the Pokemon theme for us. We would tell you how clown-rapingly awesome it is, but you can decide that for yourself when the album comes out in September.”

1. X-Men

2. Gotta Catch Em All

3. The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest

4. This Is Halloween
