Ozzy Osbourne Performs at Madison Square Garden - December 1, 2010
Billboard.com’s Jillian Mapes reports:
Speculation surrounding a BLACK SABBATH reunion including OZZY OSBOURNE arose in August, when the Birmingham Mail reported that Sabbath guitarist TONY IOMMI said the original lineup was writing new material together. Iommi back-tracked on his official website, expressing disappointment that his statements – reportedly told in confidence – made waves. But he never actually denied the claims that the heavy metal gods were collaborating in some capacity.
Speaking with Billboard.com regarding his upcoming second book, Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy, Osbourne also touched on the swirling Sabbath reunion rumors.
“Yes, it’s a very, very strong possibility,” he says of getting the old band back together. “It’s in the very early stages, so we haven’t recorded anything yet. If it works out, it’ll work out. If it doesn’t, I’ll keep doing my thing.”

Ozzy Osbourne is a multi-platinum Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning musician. Osbourne’s career has spanned four decades (as both a solo artist and as the lead singer of Black Sabbath) and his music is as relevant today as ever. Let Me Hear You Scream Sweden Rockkkk.Well the annual roadtrip to Swedenrock by the Finnish Metal Rules.com team is already into it’s 11th year! The 2011 line up presented a wide range of metal and hard rock in the line-up. Over 70 metal and rock bands offered one hell of an experience for the attendees. Sweden Rock has been successful during the past ten years as the festival has always been sold out. This year wasn’t any exception as the fest was sold out despite the lousy economic situation worldwide and the ticket price had risen a little bit. ver these 11 years of coverage, it has become quite logical for us to give an in depth article of several bands performing at Sweden Rock to all the readers out there. The weather once again showed positive and negative aspects like in 2010. It either rained or was windy with a little sunshine. But we were there for bands, not for having some beach party crap. Unfortunately, we are not able to cover every bloody band, but hopefully you will have a pleasant reading experience… Enjoy or die!!!
We regret to announce that OZZY OSBOURNE has been forced to cancel Saturday evening’s performance at Graspop Metal Meeting. Regretfully, Ozzy has severe laryngitis and his doctor has ordered an immediate 72 hours vocal rest before further evaluation.
Says Ozzy: “ I was so looking forward to performing at the legendary Graspop Metal Meeting. It really pains me to let people down and it is with great disappointment that I am unable to perform for the great fans of Belgium.”
We wish him all the best of course!
Obviously we need to reschedule the programme. Judas Priest will now headline on Saturday in a two-hour performance featuring a special laser show.
Fortunately Channel Zero, Belgium’s number one metal outfit, were more than willing to fill the vacant slot. This is the first time they’ll be playing the new album Feed ’Em With a Brick live.
With career album sales in excess of 100,000 copies, Channel Zero is easily Belgium’s biggest metal band. Last year, they made a triumphant comeback and with their new album finished they are ready for more. Feed ‘Em With a Brick is brutal, vicious and full of power. The album is rooted in metal history but the overall sound, the lyrics and the sheer energy oozing from every track are very much 2011. Channel Zero 2011 AD is Channel Zero at its absolute best.
This is the new main stage schedule for Saturday 25 June:

Sauna Open Air Festival 2011, 9th-11th June Tampere, Finland
Review by Luxi Lahtinen, live pictures by Luxi Lahtinen & Terhi Pihlaja
The 8th Sauna Open Air festival was celebrated in a very sunny and warm weather, unlike in some other years – and this year the festival also broke their own record, welcoming as many as 26,000 people within the three days.
The SOA festival has truly found an important place among the other Finnish summer festivals, concentrating mostly on old-school Heavy/Thrash Metal and Hard Rock bands – and turning the festival around for the past 3-4 years or so, by booking many internationally big names for the three-day Metal feasts; from Kiss to Megadeth to Dio to Whitesnake to Scorpions to Type O Negatíve – and the list goes on.
This year, the festival organizers had very special grins – wider than ever before, spread all over their faces – and for some very good reasons. Two of the biggest headliners, Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest, arrived at SOA for the first time, with bands like Saxon, Accept, Doro, Cavalera Conspiracy, Joey Belladonna and many others proving to be good company to them.
Read on – the following article is based on the seven most interesting and musically satisfying bands of this year’s festival from your truly point of view.

In conjunction with the LETUSINcampaign.org BIDDING ENDS SUNDAY MAY 8th!
World renowned photographer Mark Weiss has been shooting Ozzy Osbourne for 30 years. What began in 1981 as an assignment for Circus Magazine — to shoot a small b&w as part of a Rock ‘n Roll Yearbook theme — ended with the infamous photo of Ozzy on the cover, resplendent in a pink tutu and cowboy boots. So began the decade’s long camaraderie between the two, resulting in the provocative, dramatic and amusing iconic images of a legend. “Ozzy took me under his wing and away I went.” Mark Weiss.
Twelve photographs were originally unveiled at the Andaz, a/k/a “The Riot House” in Hollywood after Ozzy’s historic performance at the Sunset Strip Music Festival in September 2009. In celebration of the release of “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne,” these one of a kind archival giclée prints on canvas, with original signatures by Ozzy and Mark, and dated by Ozzy on April 25, 2011, one day after they were displayed at the documentary’s premiere, will be auctioned off to benefit “The Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars Sinai” and “The Women and Cancer Fund.”
god Bless Ozzy Osbourne is a new documentary about Ozzy’s life and times debuting at the 10th Annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The Festival runs through May 1. The film is the first release from Jack Osbourne’s company, Jacko Productions.
Mark was honored when Jack interviewed him for the documentary on his dad, and he is proud to be a part of the film. Watching all of the Osbourne kids grow up, whether photographing family Christmas cards, Kelly’s album cover, or the controversial shot of Ozzy dressed as a housewife in curlers ironing baby Aimee (the iron wasn’t plugged in), he has been there. It has been quite a ride with Ozzy and more than once throughout his successful career Mark has surely uttered the phrase “God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.”
“I’ve known Mark Weiss since he was a teenager. He was relentless in the pursuit of his art. Mark would knock on my hotel door all hours of the day and night wanting to take photos. He definitely had and still has the rock and roll spirit.”

Guitar virtuoso Zakk Wylde is best known about his long stint in support of former Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne and leading his own band Black Label Society which recently released its 8th studio album ORDER OF THE BLACK. Wylde has gone through many changes during the last two years. His long term run as Osbourne’s guitarist came to an end and he also faced serious health problems in 2009 when he was suddenly hospitalized due to blood cuts. Fortunately, everything seems to be fine in Wylde’s camp now. His health problems are long gone and ORDER OF BLACK is becoming their most successful release to date. Black Label Society’s new tour reached Finland in early March and in Helsinki we had a pleasure to speak with the man himself and hear all the latest news from Wylde’s world. Read on!
