Trough Overtures’ Facebook and Youtube pages, lead singer Michele Guaitoli – frontman of the Italian heavy/power-metal band – has published the recording sent to Kamelot two years ago as audition to substitute Roy Kahn.
“Something like two years ago Roy Kahn announced his split from Kamelot. As for the most of their fans, I was absolutely shocked and I felt really sad about it: Roy Kahn was (and still is) one of the most important influences for my musical growing. He is one of those singers who, release after release, always gave me strong emotions, without making me care or even think about any technical questions: he simply arrives. Beyond the obvious opportunity, those were the reasons that made me decide to try to submit my audition. I am actually extremely happy that their choice went on Tommy Karevic, an amazing vocalist that I was already following in Seventh Wonder, and I am still a huge fan of Kamelot. Today, in response to some requests I had by mail from some Overtures’ followers, I decided to publish the clip I loaded on Youtube 2 years ago: this link was meant for Kamelot and for a few friends, but seen the situation, I made it public, but I want to say it clear: I look at Kamelot with HUGE respect and admiration, and I absolutely don’t mean anything with this clip: watch it just like you watch any other cover on Youtube!”
Overtures just finished the recordings for their third album “Entering the maze”: more news about it will be released soon.
After two years from the release of “Rebirth”, Italian power-metallers Overtures (http://www.overtures.it/) are proud to announce that the recordings for their third album have officially begun! Starting with the next week the band will enter the studio and record all the new songs composed during the last two years. Very soon the artwork, titles and details will be revealed.
“The new songs sound a little bit heavier and they definitely have a few more progressive influences”, stated frontman Michele Guaitoli, “but at the same time we also worked a lot on orchestrations, synths, choruses and all the elements that made Rebirth something with its own personal style. Some of you may have already heard the demos of the three songs we released during the tour…well, they’re good examples of what you can expect from the new album”.
The upcoming CD will be released again under the Greek label Sleaszy Rider Records (http://www.sleaszyrider.com), very probably within the end of this year.
In the meanwhile, the pre-production version of the new unreleased song “The Maze” will be available for free on this website until the recordings will be finished. http://www.overtures.it/themaze.mp3
More details and some very important news will be announced during the next weeks, keep in touch and stay metal!

On February 2nd Overtures will begin the upcoming “Life Rebirth’s European Tour”, with Milan Polak as lead guitarist replacing Marco Falanga and the brazilian band Terra Prima as supporters. Overtures’ setlists will be mainly composed by songs taken from the latest album “Rebirth”, but nearly one year has past since its release. In the meanwhile the band already worked on new stuff and already started the pre-production of its new album. Three new songs will be also included in the setlist of the upcoming tour: this is why Overtures and Sleaszy Rider Records decided to release their “pre-production version”. Starting with the following one, one song per week will be released on the official website of the band (www.overtures.it) and will be available for its free download until the end of the tournè.
Frontman Michele Guaitoli stated: “Overtures are always evolving. Since almost one year has gone since the release of Rebirth, and the new album is actually not so far…we decided to put in our next setlist also these three unreleased songs. This tunes will be a small introduction to the new album, like a connection between what we’ve done and what we’ll do. At the same time it is important, in our opinion, that the ones who will come to our shows in the upcoming tour will have the chance to know ALL the songs before their played on the stage. Releasing this pre-production versions, we give everyone this chance, and maybe also who does not know us or never listened to Rebirth or Beyond the Waterfall will have a chance, now, to get involved into our music. Like it or not..this is not a problem, but at least everyone will be able to listen to something totally new from the band, without purchasing anything.
This is the first song, freely downloadable from this link.
