5 years. That’s the time Blind Guardian British fans had to wait to see their idols on stage again since the 2010 Sacred Worlds and Songs Divine European tour. Released in the same year, “At the Edge of Time” was a commercial success but perhaps didn’t reach the level of its predecessor “A Twist in the Myth”, which was a pure masterpiece. This time, the bards have highlighted the symphonic side on their new offering “Beyond the Red Mirror” by collaborating with three different orchestras and choirs (from Budapest, Prague and Boston). Concerning the folkloric elements, they have been completely removed. Some old fans may not appreciate this change of musical direction, but it is still a great Blind Guardian album that confirms their status of symphonic power metal masters.

Bloodstock has become something of a staple holiday for many metal heads, with its fine selection of musical delights, the drinking until dawn, great company, dressing up and of course the bin jousting! What more could you want besides all of this?

ORPHANED LAND announces new album set for a June release

March 23rd, 2013

Israel’s very own ORPHANED LAND is in the final stages of recording their long awaited 6th full length album. The name of the new album will be All Is One, and it will see the light of day on June 24th in Europe and June 25th in North America via Century Media Records.

Vocalist Kobi Farhi comments about the new album and the progressive evolution of the band’s music since their last full length, The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR:

“I’ll say it plain and simple – ‘All Is One’ is ORPHANED LAND’s best album so far, I feel that we took all aspects to a new level – the way we write, arrange, play and produce. We recorded the album in 3 countries (Turkey, Sweden & Israel) and it turned out so strong, we can’t stop listening to it. The album is very rich with more than 40 people participating (singer choirs, many violins, and many traditional instruments too). Our secret in the band was always the fact that unlike many other bands, ORPHANED LAND doesn’t follow ONE master mind that writes everything, we work in a way that All Is One. We create our music in a perfect blend of synergy and harmony and all the band members are a part of this process, we translate the album’s title and message exactly in the way we work, and we always hope we could give a bit of an inspiration to the people in the tragic Middle Eastern lands. We have fans all over the Middle East, we live in a place where huge amounts of people who consider themselves to be enemies still share one thing in common, they are all fans of ORPHANED LAND, and in these lands of orphans and bloody holy wars our only weapon is music, and hopefully we will grow to understand that All Is One.”  Read the rest of this entry »

ORPHANED LAND for Nobel Peace Prize!

October 26th, 2012

ORPHANED LAND is one of the most respected and loved musicians over the entire globe, a band that dedicates their existence to the world language of metal music and cross-cultural understanding. While not overtly political, ORPHANED LAND is nevertheless proud of creating a reality of coexistence that has escaped politicians and peacemakers alike. They often speak of the power of music to turn purported enemies into friends, frequently pay homage and encourage collaborations with Arab and Muslim artists and have made their latest album free to download for anyone in a number of Middle Eastern and North African countries. Over the past years these warriors of light achieved great things for the freedom of art, cultural and religious understanding.

Now, a petition to the Norwegian Nobel Committee has been submitted to consider ORPHANED LAND for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize, and we think this is really something to support. Please sign this petition if you feel the same way.

Kobi Farhi, singer of ORPHANED LAND, shouts out: “This is my personal request to all my friends from the Middle East, Turkey, and in general from all my Muslim friends! We know for a long time now that we are above politics, we know that if it was in our hands, peace would have prevailed right away. Please enter this link and sign if you find us worthy, please also spread the word and share it on your pages. I send my endless love to all of you and all my love and best greetings for the coming holyday in a few days.

End Of The Light Records to Re-Release Orphaned Land’s “The Beloveds Cry – 20th Anniversary Edition”

May 30th, 2012
Orphaned Land “The Beloveds Cry - 20th Anniversary Edition”

Orphaned Land “The Beloveds Cry - 20th Anniversary Edition”

20th Anniversay edition comes digitally remastered in digipack and includes bonus tracks.

North America July 17, 2012: End Of The Light Records will be releasing the brand-new, 20th Anniversary edition of Orphaned Land’s very first recordings, “The Beloveds Cry”. Originally released in 1993, this limited digipak adds liner notes inside, along with freshly-remastered original recordings and 2 bonus tracks. Go back to what started it all for these Israeli adventurers. “The Beloveds Cry” is being distributed by DisManic via eOne Distribution.

It’s impossible to ignore the Middle- East conflict as a major topic affecting the planet as a whole. For decades every attempt to make peace between Israel and the Arabian world has remained futile and the death toll keeps rising. Where politicians have failed, a mere metal band daringly labeling its style “Jewish Muslim Metal” or “Middle Eastern Progressive Metal” has actually achieved the unimaginable and united Israeli and Arabian people in spite of all their cultural, religious and political differences and conflicts!

“We are very proud to release the 20th anniversary edition of The Beloved’s Cry as this is our youth, first ever recording as Orphaned Land. We have recorded it when we were 17 byears old and financed it from pocket money we got from our parents. This always bring some nice, old memories & dreams we had back then, and it’s great to see we achived many of them in our 20 years carrier. I think this edition is a must to every Orphaned Land fan.” – Kobi Farhi

  • Orphaned land is recognized as one of the top doom metal bands worldwide.

  • One of the best bands in the World¨ according to Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Orphaned Land guitarist to guest with Marty Friedman for Israel concert

April 26th, 2011

ORPHANED LAND have made international headlines recently for their hard work to unite fans in Arabic countries through heavy metal, even giving away their most recent album, ‘The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR’, to fans in these countries (as well as the United States). Now, another exciting announcement has come from the camp as guitarist Yossi Sassi has been invited to share the stage with former Megadeth guitar virtuoso MARTY FRIEDMAN for his upcoming show in Israel on May 31st at Reading 3 Club in Tel Aviv.

Yossi comments, “Although I have shared stages with Metallica, Iron Maiden and many others, I’m excited more than ever to cooperate with Marty on the same stage, shoulder to shoulder. His recordings with the legendary Jason Becker were one of the milestones for me as a guitarist, through his wonderful solos with Megadeth to his current impressive solo career. Since the beginning of our relationship, Marty seems to be as pleasant and professional as one can be during mutual preperations towards the show together. I believe we’ll produce nice work together, in the upcoming show and beyond.”

As state above, ORPHANED LAND have posted ‘The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR’ online for download by fans in Arabic countries as well as the US. If you reside in one of these territories, visit to download the album for free. ORPHANED LAND was also featured on PRI’s The World as a force bonding Muslim and Jewish youth in the Middle East through the mutual love of music. Check out the story here.

ORPHANED LAND offer FREE download of “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR” for their fans in Arabic countries!

February 17th, 2011

ORPHANED LAND “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR”

ORPHANED LAND “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR”

Israeli prog/metal band ORPHANED LAND has just posted the following statement regarding the current events in the Arabian world:

“For years I was educated to hate Arabs and learned how much they hate me and my nation, I was sure both Israelis and Arabs, Jews and Muslims will never live in peace. But then something happened, a small movement – the music that taught me more than any teacher, guru, rabbi, sheikh, was my band’s music – ORPHANED LAND. I know that a football fan of Barcelona will never cheer up for Real Madrid, so how can it be that Arab people will follow my Israeli band? It’s simple – the power of music to bring people together, to break walls, even worst enemies can find a mutual song that they love, and right there – it’s a moment where they can find something in common, a door to a dialogue, to understand that we are all one.

We consider you, our Arabian fans, to be the most brave metal heads in the world, since you re-defined the word ‘underground’ into a new level.

We know how hard it is to be a metal head in the middle east and we always want you to know that we as pioneers of the Middle Eastern Metal genre, we are trying our best to be your voice too without getting into politics that divide us for ages. I already know that music can bring people together since I see how many fans we have in the Arab world despite the fact we are Israelis.

I know that all the wars and bullshit they put in our heads are just a stupid lie, I know it because we succeeded to break it, and we are not politicians, we are just a heavy metal band.

We are banned in your countries, not to mention the fact that we cannot play a concert there, this will never stop the power of music and friendship that exists between us – I see you, our fans as a miracle, you give us the inspiration to continue as much and as strong as we can.

Lately we have decided to make our latest album legally available in your countries – FOR FREE! We hope that you’ll enjoy it and spread the word.

Our countries flags may have different signs and colours but deep in our hearts shines the same flag – the flag of hope, friendship, brotherhood,

Don’t you ever forget it – it is our duty as disciples of the sacred oath.

With love, peace, Salam & Shalom,

You can download the entire album for FREE at the following website:

If you are lucky to live in a country where you can simply go out to a record store and buy whatever you want – grab your copy of “The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR” and support this fabulous band as they still live up to their message!

Even media outside the metal community meanwhile realizes the importance and relevance of ORPHANED LAND and The World (US) recently talked to Kobi Farhi. You can listen to the radio feature and read the article here:

Also, Italy’s biggest daily paper Corriere della Sera lately reported about ORPHANED LAND:

December 2nd, 2009

The Israeli progressive metal combo Orphaned Land will be releasing a brand new opus called "The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR". The long waited fourth album gives a massive journey into the Middle Eastern metal with obviously folk music approach involved. The album is based on an interesting concept. Even though it is already some years having passed by since Mabool, the Israeli metallers have returned with a strong and brilliant album. Therefore, it is about time to have an interview with Orphaned Land in and chat with the guitarist Yossi Saaron Sassi about the new album.
