The reigning kings of technical historically-themed brutality, NILE, have posted the music video for “Enduring the Eternal Molestation of Flame”. The clip was produced and directed by Jon Simvonis for Magnum Production Studios Co. and Arctos Broadcast Facilities. It also features the African Heritage group and photography by Philippos Kokkalis.

“It was truly an honor to direct the new NILE video; a band with so many diehard fans and such a strong impact in the metal scene,” commented Simvonis. “The video concept, as a matter of fact, was inspired by the culture and the ritual habits of the Ancient Nubia, a region along the Nile River, which is located in northern Sudan and Southern Egypt. The research and design elements of the video led to a really interesting combination of the Ancient Egyptian myths, through the prism of the Nubian African Voodoo Burial rituals. Two worlds set so close, yet so far from each other.”

This marks the band’s first time in these markets and the guys are extremely excited to be playing for their Asian metal brothers. “The whole idea of spreading NILE’s music into this part of the world has been a long time coming” commented the band. “We are extremely pleased to go to there and are looking forward to an amazing cultural exchange and experience.”

George Kollias, drummer of death metal legends Nile visited India in June 2011 to conduct a Pearl Drum clinic at the PALM India Expo. The clinic was organized by Furtados Music. With four critically acclaimed albums, a few EPs and several world tours under their belt, Nile has raised the bar for extreme metal bands musically, lyrically and conceptually. Their withering live performances are nothing short of legendary.

Formed in 1993 by Karl Sanders (guitar/vocals), Chief Spires (bass/vocals), and Pete Hammoura (drums), Nile wasted little time combining their interest in Egyptian history, culture and lore with the ferocity of modern death metal. Using a symphonic approach to songwriting and arrangement, Nile unleashed an uncompromising attack that fused unique, technical death metal with organic Middle Eastern tones. Their unique lyrical approach was inspired by Sanders’ interpretation of ancient Egyptian inscriptions, temple carvings, papyri, hieroglyphics and tomb paintings depicting ancient battles, rituals and religious ceremonies. Each following year brought a new recording, which marked a large step forward in their musical evolution.

Headbanger's Kitchen

Heavy Metal cooking show Headbanger’s Kitchen has released their 4th episode featuring the super drummer George Kollias from Nile.

George Kollias visited the sets of Headbanger’s Kitchen during his trip to India where he conducted a Pearl Drum Clinic held by Furtados Music at the Palm Expo 2011.

“With this episode we tried to do something different and cook some Indian food considering that George was from Greece and it would be an interesting experience however George really isn’t into trying new foods and he also doesn’t eat much during the day but he ate the Paneer Parathas and Kebabs we made and enjoyed it as well. It was a real honour for me to cook and interview one of my drumming idols” – Demonstealer.

Headbanger’s Kitchen is a heavy metal cooking show started in March 2011 byDemonstealer (Demonic Resurrection/Workshop/ReptilianDeath) and Srinivas Sunderrajan(Scribe). The show is hosted by Demonstealer who rustles up some of his favourite dishes and invites one metal band to sample his cooking and sit down for an informal interview.
