An official announcement, available below, in part reads:
“I have been asked by his family to be their public representative though this tragic and difficult time, so will be fielding all press inquiries. His mother Rose and father Don ask for privacy and prayers for them, and Nick’s two young boys. News of a service, remembrance and celebration of Nick’s life and music will be announced in the days to come.”
Former Megadeth drummer, Nick Menza, has posted the following message via social media, pointed at Megadeth leader, Dave Mustaine:
“To: Dave Mustaine in regards to my publishing royalties. I find it very unprofessional that you conduct business like a child, quit playing games! Be a man and stop taking food from my kids mouths. It’s my earned money, not yours. Quit ripping me off. WTF?”

Menza: “I went and jammed with them for a 3 day weekend and then on the 3rd day we started to write new songs, and it was cool, they even told me that I was back in the band and to send a press release about it. I didn’t want to say anything until I had an agreement, a contract in writing on what is going to happen and they send this ridiculous proposal which pretty much said ‘You’re not going to get paid until the touring’, so basically I was going to be working on the new record for free, but then I had intended on leaning towards that anyway and then I thought to myself I’m not going to break, I’m not going to sell myself short for something that is going to be huge you know. They gotta realize the longevity it, and then the whole thing just became silly, I didn’t even get a chance to negotiate about anything, they just cut it off and said ‘that’s it’ and afterwards I couldn’t get hold of Dave or anybody, he blocked my emails”

Menza joined MEGADETH for the 1990 recording “Rust In Peace” and for the next ten years became associated with the band’s “classic” and most profitable era. Following the reissue of the entire MEGADETH catalog, Menza was invited to reunite with the band in 2004. Days after a reunion was announced, Menza was fired after rehearsals and replaced with Shawn Drover. Mustaine said that this was because Nick “just wasn’t prepared.
LoMenzo joined MEGADETH in 2006, toured and performed on two of the groups studio albums, 2007 “United Abominations”, 2009 “Endgame” it was then announced in 2010 that original MEGADETH bassist Dave Ellefson would replace LoMenzo.
Marty Friedman is an American guitarist, best known for his career as the lead/rhythm guitarist for Megadeth which spanned nearly the full decade of the 1990s. During that period, the band reached its commercial peak and released several classic albums including RUST IN PEACE, COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION and YOUTHANASIA. Marty’s last album with the band was RISK (1999) and after the following tour he quit the band. Later on, Friedman relocated in Tokyo where he’s been living since 2003. Friedman has been visibly active in Japan. He’s hosted several TV and radio shows and works with various Japanese musicians. Friedman has released several solo albums, first of those were released prior his Megadeth tenure, and he just put out INFERNO which is his 12th solo release to date.
