Almost three months after a very successful European tour (including many sold out gigs), HammerFall had the great idea to offer an exclusive headlining show in London on the 9th of May. As the 2014/2015 World Wide (r)Evolution tour didn’t have any UK date, it was expected that the Swedish templars would come to the British lands soon or later.

From London, England comes the melodic heavy metal act Neonfly. When it was time to do an interview with the band, I had the pleasure to talk to Frederick Thunder who is one of the guitarists. STRANGERS IN PARADISE is the name of the bands’ second album, which was released at the end of last year. I was curious to know more about the band, and if you read on, you’ll see what Thunder had to say. One of the things we spoke about was why the band headed over to Frankfurt, Germany to record the album with the famous producer/musician Dennis Ward. Neonfly has gained some massive success in Great Britain during the last couple of years and I wondered how the band handles that. Read more below… Read the rest of this entry »

Imagine a weekend of nothing but pure heavy fucking metal.
Imagine being surrounded by the friendliest 15,000 people who share the same passion for heavy metal music and lifestyle. Imagine a place where it is respectable to have beer for breakfast and drinking until you drop in an accomplishment. Imagine a festival where you can see over 100 heavy metal bands and pretty much none of them suck.
Ladies and gents, this ain’t no heavy metal fairytale!
This is Bloodstock Open Air – the greatest heavy metal music festival of our times. It’s a place where metal heads run free, headbang until their heads roll off, shout ‘SLAYEEER!’ and avoid shower for 4 days straight.
It just does not get any better than this.
Our Metal-Rules.com UK team were privileged to attend Bloodstock Open Air 2013 and see things for themselves…here’s a ‘little’ insight of what went down.

Neonfly @ O2 Islington Academy II

Its a bit of a chilly night in good old Islington tonight, so the rush to get inside a nice warm venue is high on the priority list!
For a long time now gigs have been starting earlier and earlier to much frustration for those having to travel from work by train etc. The doors opened at 6pm and the first band ‘Serpico’ was on by 6:30pm which meant I missed the first band due to time of leaving work and governed by the train times, all this so they can start a silly little indie club at 11pm!
