NACHTMYSTIUM announces Barge To Hell appearance, four North American dates

November 9th, 2012

Having recently released their critically acclaimed album Silencing Machine, NACHTMYSTIUM is now ready to bring their unique brand of black metal to fans on Barge To Hell! In regards to their upcoming appearances (as well as their cancelled North American tour with JARBOE), the band comments:

“NACHTMYSTIUM fans on the east coast: we ARE coming out for three shows in a little over a week and finish with a fourth one in Chicago! Then we will be appearing on the Barge To Hell metal cruise ship going from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas and back. Playing alongside SODOM, AT THE GATES, MAYHEM, ROTTING CHRIST, MOONSPELL, MORGOTH, NAPALM DEATH and many, many many more awesome bands!”

“A full U.S. tour WILL be happening sometime between January and April, 2013. Sorry to any of you hoping to catch us on this run. The tour was doomed from the get go in a lot of ways due to things unrelated to the band or our ability to tour. Just poor timing, nothing more, nothing less. We will be doing a thorough US tour early in 2013, so look for us coming to your city soon…And anyone out in the areas we’re playing in a week or so, we look forward to seeing you at the shows!”

NACHTMYSTIUM Induct Bassist, Completing Band Lineup

May 25th, 2011

Chicago black metal assassins NACHTMYSTIUM officially announce their recently recruited full-time bassist, as they welcome Reid Raley of Rwake/Deadbird into the ranks of the band.

Besides founding guitarist/vocalist Blake Judd, NACHTMYSTIUM have forced their way from the depths of the American black metal scene to international popularity over the past decade incorporating temporary lineups from release to release, and presenting a new set of musicians for nearly every tour the band has embarked on. Over recent months, Judd has recruited several other full-time members including lead guitarist Andrew Markuszewski (Avichi, Lord Mantis), drummer Charlie Fell (Lord Mantis, Avichi), and keyboard/synth engineer Sanford Parker (Minsk, Circle Of Animals), now solidifying the crew with the addition of Reid Raley on bass, making this the first “official lineup” for the band, ever.

Stated Judd and NACHTMYSTIUM on Raley joining the band: “Nachtmystium, for the first time in the band’s history as a full-time touring band, has a solid live lineup that matches the studio lineup. We intend to move forward and keep this group together indefinitely. It’s taken 10 years to put together the perfect band, and now we’ve got it. So watch for us on the road starting in June and throughout the rest of the year!  We anticipate that Reid’s presence will not only bring a thunderous low-end onslaught on the live stage, but also will hopefully bring in some new elements into the writing of future Nachtmystium recordings.”

NACHTMYSTIUM Confirm Live Invasions, Von Collaborations, Lineup & Recording Info

May 5th, 2011

Bastard sons of black metal, NACHTMYSTIUM, have announced a string of random live attacks for the coming months, while they also devise the execution of their sixth full-length release.

The latest plague of concerts begins with a hometown headlining gig, with support from Lord Mantis (containing two members of NACHTMYSTIUM), this Friday, May 6th in Chicago. Next up, NACHTMYSTIUM will be co-headlining 2011′s installment of the annual Alehorn of Power Festival in Chicago June 11th, where they’ll perform directly before headlining stoner gods Orange Goblin, and will also be joined by Bible of the Devil, Zuul, Solace and Buried At Sea. July will see NACHTMYSTIUM terrorizing the Central Illinois Metalfest, where they’re confirmed as direct support for Macabre. In August, they’ve been invited to perform at the Party.San Open Air Festival in Schlotheim, Germany, as part of an incredible fest roster including Morbid Angel, At The Gates, Absu, Tryptikon, Enslaved, Negura Bunget and more. The band have constructed a longer set than usual for many of these headlining and festival appearances, mostly comprised of tracks they’ve not performed live before.

NACHTMYSTIUM’s Confirmed Spring/Summer Live Invasions:

5/06/2011 Cobra Lounge – Chicago, IL w/ Lord Mantis, Defcon [info]

6/11/2011 Alehorn Of Power Festival – Chicago, IL [info]

7/23/2011 Central Illinois Metalfest – Urbana, IL [info]

8/12/2011 Flugplatz Obermehler – Schlotheim, Germany @ Party San Festival [info]

Since returning from their extensive North American tour as direct support for Cradle of Filth in March, NACHTMYSTIUM have been devising their next studio effort. The current band lineup consist of a majority of the recent touring lineup, including Andrew Markuszewski (Avichi, Lord Mantis), Charlie Fell (Lord Mantis, Avichi), and Sanford Parker (Minsk, Circle Of Animals, etc.), and founding guitarist/vocalist, Blake Judd. As of now, little more about the album is being released, but according to Judd this week: “The new record will have a very strong industrial influence in the vein of later-era Ministry, Revolting Cocks and Nine Inch Nails, but also a strong, depressive, old-school black metal influence.” More details, including a full-time bassist and more on the upcoming album, will be announced shortly.

In the meantime, Judd and NACHTMYSTIUM have confirmed several collaborations with infamous USBM horde Von! Two separate projects are currently underway which involve members of both bands. First up, Judd has been confirmed as one of a dozen notable artists set to collaborate with Von bassist Venien, on a project entitled Von Venien. The unit will release a 12″ single entitled “Empire” via Von’s own label Von Music Group. Following that, VMG will also unleash a split between Von and NACHTMYSTIUM via 12″ MLP and CD, which will include both a new track as well as some Von homage from NACHTMYSTIUM. Full details on releases will be unveiled shortly.

Further details on all ongoing endeavors of NACHTMYSTIUM will be unveiled over the coming weeks. For now check out the band’s song “Nightfall,” recently made available as part of the Rock Band Network.

NACHTMYSTIUM Shoot New Video For “Every Last Drop”; Post Striking Video Stills Online

August 3rd, 2010

NACHTMYSTIUM embrace the true spirit of individuality and intolerance forming solely as an outlet to express the dark musical visions and summonings of those involved. This vicious, uncompromising group’s (led by mastermind Blake Judd) has also just lent itself to the new disturbing and eerie new video clip for the track, “Every Last Drop,” shot by Jimmy Hubbard and Seldon Hunt, edited by Alan Dubin (ex-Khanate, Gnaw), Special FX Make Up by Brandy McDonald and the Director of Photography Chris Polinski. It also features Judd, Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and Aubrey Smith (the girl on the Addicts: Pt. 2 cover). It was shot in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday July 24th and Sunday July 25th. Click on the link below now to view the video stills.

This headlining tour follows NACHTMYSTIUM’s meaty 2010 tour schedule, which has already included massive North American tours with Kreator and Voivod, Eyehategod, a European tour with Jarboe, appearances at several massive festivals including Roadburn, Festung Open Air and much more. The band will also be headed to Oslo, Norway to slay Oyafestivalen (Oya Festival) alongside Iggy Pop & The Stooges, The Flaming Lips and more on August 12th.
