LEMMY KILMISTER (Motörhead), SLIM JIM PHANTOM (The Stray Cats) and DANNY B. HARVEY (Rockats, 13 Cats, Lonesome Spurs), have teamed up in a high-energy, “take no prisoners” combo to remind the world how real rock ‘n roll is supposed to f*ckin sound. HeadCat serves up a delicious melting pot with flavors of rockabilly, punk, blues and undeniable rock ‘n roll!
HeadCat was formed in 2000 after recording an Elvis Presley tribute special to which all band members contributed. Slim Jim Phantom (drums, percussion), was born in Brooklyn and listened to his parents’ jazz records. At the age of ten he took up the drums although he always says that the drums chose him. He is an exceptional drummer who cemented his place among rock royalty long time ago and inspires and excites audiences worldwide.
Danny B. Harvey (guitar, piano) is Texas born and also discovered his love for music very early. He started playing the guitar at the age of six and even got a full scholarship to study classical guitar. He developed a finger picking guitar style that’s very unique and based on his idols Merle Travis and Chet Atkins but also a result of his classical-technique education.
Lemmy Kilmister (vocals, bass, harmonica) was born and raised in England and started to play the guitar at the age of sixteen. With a laughing eye he always said that he only took the guitar to impress the girls. He is an autodidact and changed early to bass as he stated he wasn’t a good guitar player. After founding Motörhead in 1975 he knows the ups and downs in the business and has reached the status of an Icon all over the world.
The new HeadCat album ‘Walk The Walk…Talk The Talk’ is due to be released July 5th, 2011 through Niji Entertainment Group, the record label Wendy Dio and her and late husband Ronnie James Dio formed before his untimely passing.
Twelve fantastic songs for ‘Walk The Walk, Talk The Talk’ were chosen easily. HeadCat prepare to take over the airwaves with their first single ‘American Beat’. ‘American Beat’ is a song written in the studio – Lemmy had the words and the rest came together very quickly. ‘I Ain’t Never’ is one of the songs Lemmy really likes and Danny knew it – a real country, rockabilly number, full of love and ready to take you drifting away. ‘Let It Rock’ is one of their favorite Chuck Berry tunes – The Stones did it a lot in their live show in the 70’s – HeadCat plays a different version. ‘Something Else’ is a classic Eddie Cochran – Lemmy came on stage with the Stray Cats and jammed on it at a show in the 90’s at Hammersmith Odeon so it came quite natural to take this on the record as well.
MOTÖRHEAD was guest on last night’s (Wednesday, March 2nd) edition of NBC-TV’s Late Night With Jimmy Fallon promoting their new album, The Wörld Is Yours. According to Fallon’s website, “Motorhead performed on the show tonight, and it was totally badass. They stuck around after the taping ended to play their song, ‘Get Back In Line’, exclusively for our site.”

Recorded during late spring of last year, the album’s creation was thrown into turmoil by the poor health and sad eventual passing of Philip Campbell’s father; the situation dictated that Philip needed to be home during some of the scheduled recording time, so Motörhead hired a studio in Wales where Campbell was able to continue working on ideas and record tracks whilst first Mikkey and Lemmy, and then just Lemmy, laid down the rest of the album in LA. But being Motörhead, nothing phased them, and with THE WÖRLD IS YOURS the band has triumphed over adversity to produce an absolute stormer in this, their 35th year as THE greatest, loudest and just plain goddamn coolest band around.

Legendary MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister spoke with Metro.co.uk recently about a number of topics including the band’s new album, The Wörld Is Yours and the highly-praised documentary, Lemmy: 49% Motherf**ker, 51% Son Of A Bitch. Here are a few excerpts from the chat:
Metro.co.uk: You’re known for your steady diet of Jack Daniel’s and Marlboro cigarettes. What kind of shape are you in?
Kilmister: “I know. It’s amazing really. I’ve never done a day’s exercise in my life. I get a good workout onstage, I suppose.”
Metro.co.uk: You worked as Jimi Hendrix’ roadie. Did you learn from watching him?
Kilmister: “I learned you can do anything onstage as long as you can carry it off, as long as you can back it up. You can do anything. You’ve never seen anything like it in your whole life. If you want to see a small taste of what he was like, Monterey Pop Music Festival is the one to watch.”
Metro.co.uk: Is it flattering to have such a big range of people, from Ozzy Osbourne to Jarvis Cocker, praising you?
Kilmister: “Of course it’s flattering. People keep saying they’re surprised by that. They say they’re surprised if we do a slow song. Everyone’s always surprised and analysing. Everybody’s always surprised by something. It kills me. We’ve done tracks with no drums or guitars on them. We’ve done tracks with cellos and violas on them. We’ve done all kinds of stuff.”
Metro.co.uk: You’re a famous, wealthy rock star – are you still bothered about that kind of stuff?
Kilmister: “I’m famous; I’m not wealthy. I really don’t care about politics. It takes up too much time. And there’s always misery. Every politician is an asshole. Sorry about that but they are. Everybody from Hitler to Stalin and back – all of them. To want to be a politician, you’ve got to be an asshole.”
The already-larger-than-life MOTÖRHEAD mainman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister is headed to the big screen this winter, as the acclaimed new documentary Lemmy: 49% Motherf**ker, 51% Son Of A Bitch (Damage Case Films/Megaforce) is confirmed for theatrical bookings around the country. Critics around the world can’t get enough of Lemmy. The film won the Best Documentary prize at the In Edit Film Festival in Santiago, Chile last weekend, and it’s been a major hit at dozens of other international festivals, including screenings in France, England, Germany, Spain, Australia, The Netherlands, and South Korea. Currently in theaters in the UK, Lemmy has recently sold out screenings in Paris, Berlin and Tokyo, where it was rated by one firm as the second most popular film in theaters last weekend.
The DVD, a-two disc set packed with more than four hours of bonus features, will be released February 15 and will be available for digital download and on Blu-ray. Filmed over more than three years, and directed by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, “Lemmy” features appearances by artists spanning the musical spectrum, from METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE and SLASH to Peter Hook (NEW ORDER, JOY DIVISION), Mick Jones (THE CLASH) and Jarvis Cocker.

Motörhead Music/UDR, EMI Label Services and Future Publishing have announced an exciting new release schedule for the brand new studio album from the incomparable titans of rock – MOTÖRHEAD – preceded by the debut single from the album, ‘Born To Lose’.
In a thrilling new development, the U.K. release of The Wörld Is Yours will now be a two-fold affair. On December 14, following Motörhead’s UK tour, a Classic Rock Presents Motörhead fan pack will hit news-stands across the country. This is a 132-page magazine featuring not only brand new interviews with the band alongside a complete career overview, but also the entire album on CD. It will retail at £14.99 and is the perfect way for U.K. fans to purchase the album in the run up to Christmas.
Following this four-week exclusive period, the album will then be released on January 17 in a standard CD format and available to buy in all usual retailers at the price of a regular CD.

It won’t even be out for the U.K. tour, which is a shame, but we are going to be playing two or three songs from the album as we don’t want the U.K. audience to miss out on it his year. We had been with out label for many years and they had been fantastic to us and we had full control, nothing we can complain over at all, not the slightest. But the whole company went under. The best people out of that company are now running the new deal. When we actually got going it was fantastic — everything went so easy, In fact, I’m surprised how easy it went.”

Classic Rock is reporting that Lemmy, the highly-anticipated film exploring the life and career of rock icon and MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister, is be screened at cinemas across the UK on December 7th.

Lemmy will receive its official UK premiere on Saturday, October 23rd at 9 PM at the London Film Festival at NFT1 BFI South Bank. Additional screenings will be held that following week in London.
Lemmy directors/producers Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski will also be taking part in the panel discussion, I’m With The Band on October 24th from 8:30-10PM in the Delegate Centre at BFI South Bank.

Heineken UK is bringing Kronenbourg 1664 back to the small screens with the first TV support for the premium lager band since 2006 with the launch of ‘Slow The Pace’, a new integrated advertising campaign which breaks this week.
The first execution in the new campaign shows iconic rock band Motörhead performing a slowed down version of their classic track, ‘Ace Of Spades’.
30 years to the month since it was first written, the track has been specially re-written by the band for a Kronenbourg 1664 campaign that will encompass TV, press and digital advertising, a short-film documentary and a social media activity..
‘Slow the Pace’ is rooted in the idea that Kronenbourg 1664 is a beer with a lingering complexity that deserves to be savoured slowly. The concept will be brought to life over the next year in a series of executions based on unique musical collaborations with leading artists commissioned to re-write and record a slowed down, chilled out version of one of their most famous fast tracks.
The campaign begins with a reworked version of Motörhead’s fast and furious, ‘Ace of Spades’.
The ad, which will launch as a 60-second TV execution, was shot in a French bar and shows patrons relaxing and chatting while Motörhead play the new version of the song, with founder member and lead singer Lemmy on harmonica rather than his familiar electric bass guitar.
The film documentary charts the process of the band re-writing the track in the studio through to the ad shoot. All film assets will be housed on www.youtube.com/k1664. The track will be available for download at k1664.co.uk.

According to Ian Burrell from Independent.co.uk, MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister has re-recorded the band’s legendary ‘Ace Of Spades’ at half the tempo as a blues number – and sanctioned it for a commercial.
The new, languid version of ‘Ace Of Spades’ will air this Sunday in the UK. Lemmy will be seen supping a glass of French lager instead of his usual Jack Daniel’s, as part of an advertising campaign for Kronenbourg 1664 titled Slow Down The Pace. The track, on which Lemmy plays harmonica, will be made available for download from the beer brand’s website.
‘Ace Of Spades’ has not been re-recorded before. It features Lemmy’s two Motorhead bandmates, Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee, who both appear in the TV ad jamming in a bar close to Lemmy’s home in Los Angeles, but which has been dressed to give the impression of rural France.
Matt Doman, creative director at the advertising agency BBH, admitted Lemmy “was quite challenging but really because he’s very protective of the track. We spent a rollercoaster of a day with him in the recording studio.”
