Singer Monica Primo – My Black Light
Interviewed by: Anders Sandvall
Thanks to Massacre Records for the promo pictures of the band

My Black Light is a new Italian goth metal act that late last year released their brilliant debut album HUMAN MAZE and because of the great album I felt it was time to hook up with singer Monica Primo in order to get to know the band better. The music of My Black Light isn’t the ordinary Goth music instead they have featured some really interesting progressive influences so if this sounds like something you may like then check out the interview.

Arthemis Interview
with Andrea Martongelli (Guitars/Backing Vocals)
Interview by Kirsty Birkett-Stubbs

Metal is an art form – fair enough one that is responsible for more sore necks than anything by Van Gogh or Picasso (well maybe not Picasso – funny angles and what not) but art none the less. And like art there’s a lot of different schools of thought. One set of artists wielding their brushes in the power-thrash scene is Italy’s Arthemis. Guitarist and backing vocalist Andrea Martongelli takes a break from the canvas and talks about the band’s latest body of works We Fight, and recent live antics. Oh and we discover pigs can’t sweat…

Katatonia Interview
with Drummer Daniel Liljekvist
Interview by Kirsty Birkett-Stubbs

As masters of melancholy, Katatonia have been a little bit like a perpetual raincloud on the musical weather map, since they appeared on the scene in 1991. Within these darker thunderclouds though, is a fascinating portrayal of humanity and the sadness that touches us all at times. With each album Katatonia develop and deepen their sound, and latest offering Dead End Kings is no different. Stilling the rain for a moment, drummer Daniel Liljekvist gives us a fleeting insight into Katatonia’s world…

Process Interview
with Guitarist Anders Møller Pedersen
Interview by Kirsty Birkett-Stubbs

Any artist worth their salt, pepper, and other condiments knows you can’t rush the creative process. So the fact that Danish metallers Process took some time over the recording of their debut album Through Acknowledgment Only isn’t going to get tongues wagging. What might is the musical cacophony contained within. Laying the groundwork, guitarist Anders Møller Pedersen gives us an insight into this particular Process…

Mats Kurth drummer of Coronatus
Interviewed by: Anders Sandvall
Thanks to Tom Hack for setting up the interview.
Thanks to Massacre Records for providing me with promo pics.

Mats Kurth, the drummer of the German goth act Coronatus and I hooked up a while ago after I heard their new album TERRA INCOGNITA and became curious about the guys. The band has two female vocalists who sings in English and German which must be considered as a bit unusual so our conversation evolved of course a lot about the new album and the atmospheric music. We also talked about the bands past present and future and scroll down to see how the interview turned out.
