Australian melodic metallers LORD have uploaded an official lyric video for the title track from their upcoming album ‘Digital Lies’, which is due to be released February 22nd in Australia and New Zealand through Riot! Entertainment and April 24th in Japan through Rubicon Records.
‘Digital Lies’ will also be exported to the rest of the world.
Previously stated LORD mainman LT of the new album:
“If you know what LORD sounds like… well, that. We’re not reinventing ourselves or the genre at all. We haven’t tried to go off in any new and weird direction. There’s definitely an underlying dark technology vibe throughout the album as a theme, but other than that, it’s the same diverse sound that we’ve had since we were out there as DUNGEON.
But don’t take my word for it, make up your own mind!”
To also celebrate the upcoming release and official lyric video, LORD have an exclusive pre-order offer for their new ‘Propaganda’ Digital Lies t-shirts, inspired by the title track and album title. These are available at special low price for pre-order only and will be shipped out over the coming weeks. Available to order here.

LORD is essentially a continuation of DUNGEON, one of Australia’s longest running and highest profile heavy metal bands, that disbanded in 2005. LORD has released three full length albums, two EPs and a digital-only release live album, and continues to play the DUNGEON back-catalog live. The band have shared the stage with the likes of GAMMA RAY, NIGHTWISH, QUEENSRYCHE and most recently ICED EARTH and continue to tour internationally, appearing at Germany’s Headbangers Open Air festival in July. Their last critically acclaimed album, 2009′s “Set In Stone” featured guest appearances from Craig Goldy [ex-DIO], Pete Lesperance [HAREM SCAREM], Glen Drover [ex-MEGADETH], Felipe Andreoli [ANGRA], Olof Morck [AMARANTHE] alongside a host of other well known musicians.

Australian melodic metallers LORD have set the Australian release date of their forthcoming album ‘Digital Lies‘ as February 22. Dates for New Zealand and Japan to follow, along with announcements for distribution partners for the rest of the world.
Stated LORD mainman LT:
“Finally! It seems like a lifetime since we started this album until this point, but we’re finally here. For this release, we thought long and hard about other options regarding labels and, frankly, it’s a mess out there. The larger labels are doing everything they can to protect their revenue and are being very cautious about who they deal with, and the smaller labels are at the mercy of a very volatile and changing market, and you can never be sure they’ll be still in business once the time to pay up comes around – we’ve unfortunately had to wear the consequences of that in the past.
We’ve chosen once again to distribute this release via Riot! Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand and Rubicon Music for Japan since we had such a great experience with them for our previous album ‘Set In Stone‘. For the rest of the world, however, we’ve chosen this time to keep as much control over our product as we can by planning to export to stores around the globe and sell directly from our own web store. As I mentioned before, the market is so fickle now, trusting a label to even be there let alone pay up is a risk we just can’t afford to take if we want to keep touring and releasing albums – simple as that.
Pre-sales from our online store begin from Monday, January 28 and the album will be available both as a physical product in Australia from February 22 as well as a digital download which will be available worldwide.
So what does it sound like?
If you know what LORD sounds like… well, that. We’re not reinventing ourselves or the genre at all. We haven’t tried to go off in any new and weird direction. There’s definitely an underlying dark technology vibe throughout the album as a theme, but other than that, it’s the same diverse sound that we’ve had since we were out there as DUNGEON.
But don’t take my word for it, make up your own mind! Here’s samples from the entire album. We hope you like it!”

Australian metallers and ESP guitar and basses endorser’s ‘LORD‘ have released a new video clip for the track ‘Because We Can‘, taken from their upcoming album ‘Digital Lies‘.
Filmed by Dusk Music Video Production, ‘Because We Can’ features ESP endorser’s Lord Tim and Mark Furtner as they battle each other with their ESP weapons of choice, and also highlights a jaw dropping bass solo by fellow Australian ESP endorser Andy Dowling.
Lord Tim commented “Yes, we’re aware this video is dumb and contains ridiculous amounts of arguably tasteless shredding. Why do it? …. well, have a guess ”.
‘Because We Can’ is the 2nd video to be released from the upcoming album ‘Digital Lies’ which is now due for a worldwide release in early 2013. The first video for ‘Betrayal Blind’ can be viewed below.

Australian metal band LORD have released their new video for the track ‘Betrayal Blind‘, taken from their upcoming album DIGITAL LIES, slated for a late 2012 release.
Bassist Andy Dowling recently spoke with Loud Online Magazine (interview here -http://www.loudmag.com.au/content/lord-on-the-road-again) about the upcoming album stating “The title track of the same name depicts a dystopian future where technology is augmenting mankind. It’s got to a point where it’s gone beyond normal and is actually encouraged by the ‘powers that be’, with all of the propaganda and spin that a corrupt government can assemble.”
‘Betrayal Blind‘ comes just as LORD head out of their Digital ‘LIVE’ 2012 Australian/New Zealand tour, which will then extend to our countries in 2013.

Australian melodic metallers LORD performed at this year’s edition of the Headbangers Open Air festival, which took place July 26-28 in Brande-Hoernerkirchen, Germany. It marked the first time the members of LORD have been to Europe since 2005, when they toured as DUNGEON.
The first part of LORD’s European video tour diary, which can be seen below, sees the band “rip[ping] into each other, drink[ing] lots of beer and spend[ing] hours basically sitting on a plane. Sound boring? You’d be surprised how much fun you can have when there’s nothing much to do!” The clip features unmixed snippets from the song “Digital Lies” from LORD’s forthcoming album of the same name.
”Digital Lies” will be released later in the year through Dominus Records. The cover art was once again created by Felipe Machado (BLIND GUARDIAN, IRON SAVIOR, ICED EARTH, GAMMA RAY).

Commented the band: “Every artist says their new album is ‘their best work’ or their ‘heaviest’ or ‘most brutal.’ We’ll skip those clichés and say that we believe we have a solid album of good music that we’re proud of and we believe stands up to anything we’ve released so far.
“If you’re familiar with LORD, you’ll know what to expect for the most part; a very diverse album ranging from traditional metal to commercial rock to extreme metal and everything in between.
“If you’re wanting an album full of thrash songs, AOR songs, or progressive epic movie orchestral jazz djent punk songs that all sound the same, then I’m afraid you’ll be a little bewildered when the style shifts from song to song. It’s the LORD you know with a few new elements that have fallen into the melting pot since the last album.”

Commented LORD bassist Andy Dowling, “After a full 12 months off the touring circuit, 2012 is shaping up to be one of our biggest years yet. We are extremely excited to be sharing the stage with Iced Earth, and it’s just one of many exciting announcements we have in the pipeline for the new year.”

Australian melodic metallers LORD announce the release of the full-length video of their classic 2006 concert “Live – At The Metro”.
After the demise of Dungeon in late 2005, LORD came to be a true band rather than a side project of then-Dungeon frontman Lord Tim. From early 2006, the band hit the Australian touring circuit hard, touring nationally both as a headliner and playing support to bands such as Queensryche and Gamma Ray. The culmination of this years intensive touring ended with a high-profile end of year show at Sydney’s prestigious Metro Theatre.
LORD’s 2006 lineup, which included Lord Tim on vocals/guitars, Andy Dowling on bass, Tim Yatras on drums and Mav Stevens on guitars performed a 90 minute long show with material ranging from the first Dungeon EP “Changing Moods”, right through the entire Dungeon catalogue, including the final Dungeon album “The Final Chapter” which was released just as the band dissolved. The set-list also featured songs from LORD’s first “solo album” CD “A Personal Journey” and covers ranging from Helloween, W.A.S.P. and Megadeth.
This show marked the end of the original ‘true’ LORD line up as this was the final appearance of guitarist Mav Stevens as a member of the band. This also proclaimed a new chapter in the bands history where they began writing the critically acclaimed 2007 album ‘Ascendence’.
The video was filmed entirely by the fans and featured pro-recorded/produced audio. For the first time, this show is available for streaming in its entirety at the LORD site. http://www.lord.net.au/metro.php
It’s an intriguing look back at the beginnings of the band as we know it today, with songs that have rarely been played live since that time. We hope you enjoy it!
Commented LORD mainman L.T., “Finally we can release all of the details about our forthcoming EP ‘Return Of The Tyrant‘ that will be out in the next few weeks. For something that started out as a quick, fun project to give everyone something to listen to while they wait for us to release our next album, it turned into a major undertaking in the end but it was all worth the extra effort. As far as EPs go, this is a long one; close to an album length of music, with eleven songs including the title track which clocks in around the ten minute mark.
“As for the songs themselves, we have ‘Return Of The Tyrant‘ which is essentially part two of the old DUNGEON song ‘Tarranno Del Mar’. We’d always felt that the original story was unfinished and the intention was to revisit it at some point, but then DUNGEON broke up in 2005 and we continued on as LORD instead, and the idea was shelved. The original riffs that were floating around for that sequel have now finally made it to a recording. Unlike ‘Tarranno Del Mar’ which suffered all manner of budget and technical issues, we were able to go all-out on ‘Return Of The Tyrant’ and fully orchestrate it, bring in actors, dozens of guitar parts and literally hundreds of voices in the choirs. It truly is an epic! It was also great to have our good friends and ex-band mates Tim Yatras and Mav Stevens come in to be a part of the choir.
“Long-time fans of the band will know we love playing cover songs and we have a massive list of songs we want to record ranging from BON JOVI to BATHORY and beyond. This time we’ve recorded a cover of SYMPHONY X’s classic ‘Of Sins And Shadows’ and the 80s pop hit by CUTTING CREW ‘(I Just) Died In Your Arms’ which features lead vocals by [bassist] Andy Dowling. During our last Australian tour, we did some unplugged shows. That sparked the idea of recording some unplugged versions of LORD and DUNGEON songs one day, so we decided to include some on this EP: ‘Against The Wind‘, ‘100 Reasons‘, ‘Rain‘, ‘New Horizons‘, ‘Paradise‘ and ‘Eternal Storm‘. And if all of that wasn’t enough, we’ve also put on two extra mixes of ‘Return Of The Tyrant’ – an orchestral version and a shorter radio edit.
“As usual, we’ve had our friend Felipe Machado Franco [BLIND GUARDIAN, RHAPSODY, ICED EARTH, GAMMA RAY] handle the cover art, which will also be featured on shirts that we’ll be selling on our current tour. We’re still hard at work writing the next LORD album, but we hope you enjoy the new EP until it’s done. Keep an eye on http://www.lord.net.au for the upcoming release date of the EP.”

Melodic metal favourites LORD have unveiled their latest touring venture, taking them across Australia once again, including trips to the far north, as well as making their way back to Japan for the second year in a row. The band have also announced their latest EP release ‘Return of the Tyrant’ which will be released in the coming months.
Commented LORD main man LT, “We’re finally able to announce the tour dates for the rest of the year. This was a logistical nightmare with so many other high-profile acts touring Australia right now, meant that some places we wanted to get to just weren’t realistic this time around. This tour will also include our run of shows in Japan with DORO and Jaded Heart, which we’re extremely excited about”
“The other great news is we have a new LORD release out soon; an EP entitled ‘Return of the Tyrant’. Anyone who has followed our history knows about Dungeon, the band that spawned LORD after it dissolved in 2005. Dungeon had a popular song called ‘Tarranno Del Mar’ – a fun pirate themed song that LORD still enjoys playing to this day. We felt it was time to revisit the story and write the next part in the saga. The song ‘Return Of The Tyrant’ is full of piratey singalongs and is nearly ten minutes long, so it’s quite an epic! Apart from that, we have some cool cover songs and a whole bunch of cool interpretations of LORD and Dungeon songs, so there’s quite a lot of material for an EP. We’ll be revealing the full track list and cover art really soon.”

Australian melodic rockers LORD have released a video clip for the song “100 Reasons” which was featured on their most recent album “Set In Stone”.
Commented LORD mainmain LT, “We had a lot of fun doing this clip, throwing food around the house, trying not to get busted by mall security and doing possibly some of the most ridiculous cheesy stage moves you’ll ever see! Thankfully no one needed to wear the little gold hot pants this time, I still have nightmares about that! This is just one of a few really cool things we have on the boil this year, so keep an eye on our site.”

LORD will return to Japan in October for a run of shows with DORO and JADED HEART, ahead of more Australian touring in the last part of the year.
Born from the ashes of DUNGEON, one of Australia’s longest running metal bands, LORD has gone on to tour nationally and internationally with bands such as QUEENSRYCHE, NEVERMORE, SAXON, NIGHTWISH, GAMMA RAY and more. Their last album “Set In Stone” featured guest performances by Pete Lesperance (HAREM SCAREM), Craig Goldy (DIO), Felipe Andreoli (ANGRA) and a host of other well known artists from around the world.
