Swedish paleontology professor and heavy metal aficionado Mats E. Eriksson named a fossil worm, Kalloprion Kilmisteri, in honor of Lemmy Kilmister in 2006. Now — ten years later — the fossil has come to brutal sonic life with assistance from prolific Swedish metal musicians, notably members of WOLF, DENATA and SEANCE, deciphering the “paleo metal” music “Silurian Overkill”.

HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES, the supergroup featuring international film star and musician Johnny Depp alongside Alice Cooper and AEROSMITH’s Joe Perry, paid tribute to late MOTÖRHEAD frontman Lemmy Kilmister by performing the MOTÖRHEAD classic “Ace Of Spades” last night (Monday, February 15) at the Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Dave Grohl introduced the VAMPIRES’ appearance by saying:
“Many of us play rock and roll, but very few of us are rock and roll. Lemmy Kilmister was rock and roll. He was a rebel and an outsider, one of a kind and a way of life. He was MOTÖRHEAD. He was a legend and I was proud to call him my friend. I have an ‘Ace Of Spades’ tattoo, but the truth is Lemmy and MOTÖRHEAD left their mark on me a long time ago, just as they did for everybody who’s ever loved rock and roll. As Lemmy taught us in ‘Ace Of Spades’, the pleasure is to play. So tonight, I wanna thank Lemmy and the late Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor for their music and everything it meant.”
As all Motorhead fans know, a JD and Coke was Lemmy’s favorite drink, which he could often be seen enjoying on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar and Grill.
Food & Beverage Magazine publisher Michael Politz states:
“We are honored to represent the industry and bring the moniker The Lemmy to every bar in the world! Owning a rock club with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Alice in Chains’ Jerry Cantrell gave me the chance to meet Lemmy and experience his legend myself.”
Condolences for Ian Fraser “Lemmy” Kilmister (24 December 1945 – 28 December 2015)
Like all Motörhead fans, many of us here feel a connection to the rebel spirit and music of Motörhead. As Lemmy himself was anything but pretentious, we won’t ramble on. Here are just a few words, thoughts, and pictures about this irreplaceable founder, vocalist, bassist, songwriter, and LEGEND.
Go here for the official announcement about the passing of Lemmy, and for condolences from many of Lemmy’s peers. And in case anyone was wondering, drummer Mikkey Dee has confirmed that the band is over.

German vocalist Doro Pesch is one of the best-known female singers in heavy metal, and she has earned the designation of Metal Queen. At first, Doro became known as the lead singer of band Warlock with whom she released four albums including the classics TRUE AS STEEL (1986) and TRIUMPH AND AGONY (1987). The band disbanded in 1989 and Doro then started her successful solo career which includes, so far, twelve studio albums. The latest album titled RAISE YOUR FIST was released last October and this time the tour arrived to Finland. I met the always joyful Metal Queen in the backstage of Club Nosturi and here are the results of our nice conversation. Read on!
♠ Drinking With Motörhead ♠
(And living to tell about it!)

Legendary rock’n’roll band Motörhead is proud to announce the formation of Motörhead Music as they prepare to release THE WÖRLD IS YOURS on February 8. Joining forces with EMI Music Services, Motörhead Music is owned by Motörhead and represents their very first venture into the record company business.
To celebrate their 35th anniversary and the release of THE WÖRLD IS YOURS, the band also announces their 2011 North American tour, which kicks off January 25th in Anaheim, CA and wraps up March 11 in Los Angeles. For a full listing of dates, see below or head over to the band’s website at www.imotorhead.com.
Motörhead has never just been the best rock’n’roll band in the world. They’ve never just been the loudest. Or the hardest. Or the toughest. Or the bad-ass-est.
No…Motörhead is a lifestyle.
Motörhead is a mindset, a belief, a way to live your life, a way to both survive and beat a society that sometimes seems intent on trying to grind you down.
Which is why Motörhead has chosen now, in what might be some of the most tense times in recent global history, to release a hell-raising, rebel-rousing rock’n’roll statement known as THE WÖRLD IS YOURS.
Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Philip Campbell and Mikkey Dee in both Los Angeles, CA and Wales, with production once again by Cameron Webb, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS serves to remind everyone that you should never stop questioning or critiquing a society that would surely chew you up and spit you out if given half a chance. And with 10 soul-scorching testaments to the unbridled power this world-famous trio continually maintains, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS delivers some of the finest, most important Motörmusic yet.
On instant classics such as Get Back In Line, Kilmister thunders that ‘The way we are is not the way we used to be my friend’, and ‘We are trapped in luxury, starving on parole, no-one told us who to love, we have sold our souls’, whilst on Brotherhood Of Man Kilmister roars ‘You cannot hide the truth from me I know what’s in your heart, greed and jealousy each equal, all your days now dark’. And with the defiant, uproarious Rock’n’Roll Music, Kilmister and co remind everyone that ‘Rock’n’roll music is the true religion’ and ‘Rock’n’roll even gonna set you free, make the lame walk and the blind see’…
Recorded during late spring of last year, the album’s creation was thrown into turmoil by the poor health and sad eventual passing of Philip Campbell’s father; the situation dictated that Philip needed to be home during some of the scheduled recording time, so Motörhead hired a studio in Wales where Campbell was able to continue working on ideas and record tracks whilst first Mikkey and Lemmy, and then just Lemmy, laid down the rest of the album in LA. But being Motörhead, nothing phased them, and with THE WÖRLD IS YOURS the band has triumphed over adversity to produce an absolute stormer in this, their 35th year as THE greatest, loudest and just plain goddamn coolest band around.

Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski spent three years following Kilmister around the globe – from his Hollywood home to the hockey arenas of Russia.
Hailed as a godfather of heavy metal, 64-year-old Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister has established himself as the living embodiment of rock and roll over the past four decades. After stints with popular Mersey beat band THE ROCKIN’ VICKERS and influential psychedelic rockers HAWKWIND, and even a brief time spent as a member of JIMI HENDRIX’ road crew, Lemmy formed Motörhead in 1975.
Going on to record such influential metal classics as ‘Overkill’, ‘Ace of Spades’ and ‘Bomber’, the Grammy Award-winning Motörhead and Kilmister’s fusion of punk and metal registered a major influence on such bands as METALLICA, GUNS N’ ROSES and NIRVANA.
2010 marks the 35th anniversary of the birth of Motörhead, which features Kilmister, guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee.

HELL, MI, USA — A Michigan man believes he’s found his savior at the breakfast table.
Forest Rhal was eating breakfast this Thursday morning at a local diner when he spotted his savior’s face on his last piece of toast. After studying the toast, Forest says he and friends also see his redeemers holy visage and moles. The shoulder-length dark hair, famous moustache and moles looked all too familiar to Forest.
Rhal, an aspiring novelist, says he isn’t planning on selling the toast, and hopes that the image will help “renew the hope and metal faith” of those who see it.
“I know there’s a lot of people who believe there’s some reason for it being there,” said Rahl. “I just don’t know, but I could never eat it even though I imagine that it would taste like eternity wrapped in a Rickenbacker soaked in alcohol.”
“It came out just exactly like that. I didn’t do anything special,” Forest said. “The Lem works in mysterious ways, but I don’t think there’s any magic to it. But it is a reminder that Lemmy is with you every day of your life.”
Not wanting to eat the toast, Forest preserved it in an airtight plastic container. It’s been on his mantle since and miraculously has yet to show any sign of going bad! He’s showed it to many friends, some who believe there’s something wondrous and magical about the image, and some who don’t. The toast has become a popular topic of conversation among friends at his favorite diner.
