Legendary rock’n'roll band Motörhead is proud to announce the formation of Motörhead Music as they prepare to release THE WÖRLD IS YOURS on February 8. Joining forces with EMI Music Services, Motörhead Music is owned by Motörhead and represents their very first venture into the record company business. To celebrate their 35th anniversary and the release of THE WÖRLD IS YOURS, the band also announces their 2011 North American tour, which kicks off January 25th in Anaheim, CA and wraps up March 11 in Los Angeles. For a full listing of dates, see below or head over to the band’s website at www.imotorhead.com. Motörhead has never just been the best rock’n'roll band in the world. They’ve never just been the loudest. Or the hardest. Or the toughest. Or the bad-ass-est. No…Motörhead is a lifestyle. Motörhead is a mindset, a belief, a way to live your life, a way to both survive and beat a society that sometimes seems intent on trying to grind you down. Which is why Motörhead has chosen now, in what might be some of the most tense times in recent global history, to release a hell-raising, rebel-rousing rock’n'roll statement known as THE WÖRLD IS YOURS. Written and performed by Lemmy Kilmister, Philip Campbell and Mikkey Dee in both Los Angeles, CA and Wales, with production once again by Cameron Webb, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS serves to remind everyone that you should never stop questioning or critiquing a society that would surely chew you up and spit you out if given half a chance. And with 10 soul-scorching testaments to the unbridled power this world-famous trio continually maintains, THE WÖRLD IS YOURS delivers some of the finest, most important Motörmusic yet. On instant classics such as Get Back In Line, Kilmister thunders that ‘The way we are is not the way we used to be my friend’, and ‘We are trapped in luxury, starving on parole, no-one told us who to love, we have sold our souls’, whilst on Brotherhood Of Man Kilmister roars ‘You cannot hide the truth from me I know what’s in your heart, greed and jealousy each equal, all your days now dark’. And with the defiant, uproarious Rock’n'Roll Music, Kilmister and co remind everyone that ‘Rock’n'roll music is the true religion’ and ‘Rock’n'roll even gonna set you free, make the lame walk and the blind see’… Recorded during late spring of last year, the album’s creation was thrown into turmoil by the poor health and sad eventual passing of Philip Campbell’s father; the situation dictated that Philip needed to be home during some of the scheduled recording time, so Motörhead hired a studio in Wales where Campbell was able to continue working on ideas and record tracks whilst first Mikkey and Lemmy, and then just Lemmy, laid down the rest of the album in LA. But being Motörhead, nothing phased them, and with THE WÖRLD IS YOURS the band has triumphed over adversity to produce an absolute stormer in this, their 35th year as THE greatest, loudest and just plain goddamn coolest band around. HELL, MI, USA — A Michigan man believes he’s found his savior at the breakfast table. Forest Rhal was eating breakfast this Thursday morning at a local diner when he spotted his savior’s face on his last piece of toast. After studying the toast, Forest says he and friends also see his redeemers holy visage and moles. The shoulder-length dark hair, famous moustache and moles looked all too familiar to Forest. Rhal, an aspiring novelist, says he isn’t planning on selling the toast, and hopes that the image will help “renew the hope and metal faith” of those who see it. “I know there’s a lot of people who believe there’s some reason for it being there,” said Rahl. “I just don’t know, but I could never eat it even though I imagine that it would taste like eternity wrapped in a Rickenbacker soaked in alcohol.” “It came out just exactly like that. I didn’t do anything special,” Forest said. “The Lem works in mysterious ways, but I don’t think there’s any magic to it. But it is a reminder that Lemmy is with you every day of your life.” Not wanting to eat the toast, Forest preserved it in an airtight plastic container. It’s been on his mantle since and miraculously has yet to show any sign of going bad! He’s showed it to many friends, some who believe there’s something wondrous and magical about the image, and some who don’t. The toast has become a popular topic of conversation among friends at his favorite diner. Tags: Lemmy, Motorhead Motörhead – Helsinki Ice Hall, Finland on December 16th 2008December 31st, 2008
