Italy’s LACUNA COIL is proud to announce that they will visit the US in early 2013 in their first tour of the New Year. The band will head out with SEVENDUST on a 17-date run throughout the month of February. The tour kicks off on February 2, 2013 in Winston-Salem, NC and tickets for the tour go on-sale Friday, November 30, 2012. Fans should check their local ticketing outlets for information on how to purchase tickets.
LACUNA COIL has spent the past year touring the world in support of their new album, DARK ADRENALINE. Released earlier this year via Century Media Records, the album debuted at #15 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, selling nearly 20,000 units in its first week, and spawned the crushing first single “Trip The Darkness.” The band has sold upwards of 800,000 units in the US alone and with six full-length albums, two EPs, various singles and a DVD under their belt; LACUNA COIL maintains their prominent role in the modern rock scene.
2012 marks fourteen years since Lacuna Coil released their EP and first album, In a Reverie, and they have decided to celebrate that history by bringing a set spanning some two hours to London.
There should be something for all fans tonight as they will be playing something from every album. Read the rest of this entry »
Road veterans Megadeth have been very busy lately. Riding the Big 4 wave, master shredder Dave Mustaine and the boys put out new album TH1RT3EN in November 2011 and revived the Gigantour festival with Motorhead, Volbeat, and Lacuna Coil for a North American Tour. Now following a short break, they are back on the road again with Rob Zombie and Lacuna Coil. As a huge Megadeth fan, I feel very fortunate they do so many tours, we have seen them 9 times in the last 2 and a half years! Read the rest of this entry »
The last time Motörhead played the Aragon Ballroom was in 1994, amidst a stifling blizzard. Eighteen years later, guess what? Yep, a near-whiteout! Come back in the summer, guys!
Gigantour, the traveling heavy metal festival created by frontman Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, stopped in Calgary Alta., on February 18, 2012 for the third time since the festival’s inception in 2005. This year’s festival also featured England’s metal legends Motorhead, who probably played a large part in selling out the venue. Italy’s Lacuna Coil and Denmark’s Volbeat rounded out the bill and added a bit of diversity. Unfortunately the tour hit one of the worst large venues in Calgary for sound. The Big Four building is a concrete box with large pillars breaking up the sound and view. Surprisingly though, the overall sound for the evening was fairly decent. One great idea someone had was to have the line-up for doors inside the building. Underneath the hall where the bands played, a corral was set up (how fitting for a city known as Cowtown) for fans to line up (get herded) and stay warm.
In support of their new release, Dark Adrenaline , LACUNA COIL will perform an acoustic set and meet-and-greet with their fans at the Cobra Lounge in Chicago on February 10th! Presented by Metal Army America and Unholy Empire, this special night with the band is open to the public and will take place after their performance at Gigantour that night (tickets will be given on a first come, first serve basis; you must be 21+ to receive entry into the club). For more information, please visit the official event page here.

Lacuna Coil launched their upcoming album ‘Dark Adrenaline’ tour ‘Darkness rising’ in a small little venue in Nottingham. I however joined them at the jolly old London ULU, London and was majorly impressed, not only with the choice of venue, but the bands set as well as choice of special guests in Straight line stitch and October file!
Milan, Italy – Century Media Records is proud to announce the return of international goth metal stars Lacuna Coil; their sixth studio album DARK ADRENALINE is now scheduled for release in North America on January 24th, 2012. Produced by the acclaimed Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Good Charlotte, Bullet For My Valentine), DARK ADRENALINE promises to deliver the melodic, sensual, metallic rush for which the band has come to be known.
The album will be available in Canada (distributed by EMI) in several configurations including; regular CD jewelcase, deluxe CD+DVD digipak, and limited edition 12” vinyl. (Please see below for the album’s track listing.)
Of the new album, Lacuna Coil’s sultry co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia commented, “As some of you know, the release for DARK ADRENALINE was postponed a bit…and this made me even more nervous because I had to wait even more to spit it out! I am so thrilled I can finally say something about this album – ha! I simply love it. I feel this is the best work we have ever done, and it absolutely captures the essence of who we are. The atmosphere of the record will make a lot of old-school fans very happy, and the newer fans will enjoy the vibrant energy and the dark blood running through the songs. I really believe the DARK ADRENALINE will wake you up. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to enjoy the trip!”
The video for the album’s first single “Trip The Darkness” can now be seen online. Directed by the Sitcom Soldiers (Funeral For A Friend, The Blackout), the visually stunning performance video invites viewers to step into a world of alternate reality.
To kick off the touring cycle for Dark Adrenaline, Lacuna Coil will support Megadeth on their critically-acclaimed Gigantour. Gigantour was founded by Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine in 2005; this run will also feature Motorhead and Volbeat. Please see below for Canadian Gigantour dates.

Gigantour is a chance to, as Mustaine says, tour with like-minded artists “that play heavy music in a high-energy environment,” with a fan-friendly ticket price. He founded the tour in 2005 and invited such artists as ANTHRAX, DREAM THEATER, FEAR FACTORY, LAMB OF GOD, OPETH, STATIC-X, and IN FLAMES to join Megadeth. For Lacuna Coil, Gigantour 2012 marks a return to the tour, as they performed on the 2007 Australian tour; the Italian heavy metal group’s singer Cristina Scabbia also appeared on Megadeth’ 2007 re-recording of their song, ‘A Tout Le Monde’.
After one too many overcrowded festivals *cough*Wacken*cough* Ray and I keep a lookout for small or medium sized festivals to combine with sightseeing holidays, preferably in countries not yet travelled. So when the lineup for Graspop Metal Meeting 2011 was announced, we had our next destination.
European fans of LACUNA COIL should already mark October 17th red in their calendars as this will be the date “Trip The Darkness” will be released – their first digital single off the upcoming album “Dark Adrenaline”!
Still, this is not the end of today’s good news: As it has been too long since LACUNA COIL has played their native Italy the band want to give a very special treat to their Italian fans: an extensive tour throughout Italy! Not only will their Italian fans be able to enjoy some of the very first dates of their “Darkness Rising” tour, but also see the band on some more intimate club shows! After spending many months in the recording studio the band are dying to get on the road again and perform songs from “Dark Adrenaline” live:
21.10.2011 (I) Milan – Bloom
22.10.2011 (I) Ravenna – Rock Planet Club
24.10.2011 (I) Rome – Circolo Degli Artisti
25.10.2011 (I) Naples – Duel Beat
27.10.2011 (I) Florence – Viper
28.10.2011 (I) Modena – Vox
30.10.2011 (I) Treviso – New Age Club
31.10.2011 (I) Turin – Teatro Delle Serre
Italy’s LACUNA COIL have confirmed Dark Adrenaline as the title of their new album, due in October via Century Media Records.
Lacuna Coil recently answered more questions about their forthcoming new album, submitted by fans through Emptyspiral.net:
Q: Any concept for the album?
Andrea Ferro: “No concept. Just a collection of songs inspired by all of the events that we have experienced in the past couple of years. For some of us, it was some really dark times.”
Q: Is the direction still “heavier and darker” or has it changed since ?
Andrea Ferro: “Absolutely, some stuff is pretty tight, probably the heaviest we have ever written. But then we have some cool songs with a dark “oldschool” vibe, and then some other rocking songs which are a bit more modern and anthemic sounding.”
Cristina Scabbia: “I just want you all to listen to it ‘cause I think the old fans will be pleased as well as the new fans. The collection of songs are the perfect balance between an older and a newer style of rock metal – with a heavy punch and melancholic shadows.
It’s hard to describe music… I hope you can just enjoy the trip with us!”
Lacuna Coil have started recording the follow up to their 2009 Shallow Life album, which spawned the hit singles ‘Spellbound’ and ‘I Won’t Tell You’. The band are once again working with producer Don Gilmore (PEAR JAM, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE), this time choosing to record in their native Italy to help focus on the more personal nature of the new material.
“This time around music has been our refuge from some of the darkest days of our life and that’s why the new songs have such a variety of feelings… some stuff is pretty angry, probably the heaviest we’ve ever written, some other songs are intense, loaded with velvet dark emotions and there’s even a little space for some light at the end of the tunnel”, says Lacuna Coil co-vocalist Andrea Ferro. “People are askin’ me if we’re going back to our roots or if we’re taking another step forward in a new direction… well to be honest I just feel that this is 100% a Lacuna Coil record and that is what really matters to me. I just love the songs and we felt a big wave of inspiration. The energy with Don in the studio is sky-high and we’re ready to kick some ass.”
“Collectively, we did so much in between Shallow Life and this one. We have lots of different experiences between us,” continues co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia. “We’ve been loved and hurt, we grew up, we shrunk inside a little keeping ourselves together and our roots watered and are alive. I still can’t believe that the energy in between us is getting better and better, but I guess that’s what being a real family means.”
Once Lacuna Coil completes the sessions for the new album, they will spend the summer performing at a select handful of European summer festivals, including Greenfield, Graspop and Sonisphere Spain.
“Summer means amazing energy from a lot of sweaty kids in front of a stage headbanging and jumping with us!” says Cristina. “ I CAN’T wait to be up there again with Lacuna Coil. You better be there because we are ABSOLUTELY ready to rock you all!”
