L Sol Tace – New Lead Guitarist Announced

February 21st, 2013

London metallers L Sol Tace have announced that their NEW lead guitarist is Sy Taplin!

Sy has been in various bands before including thrash metallers Savage Messiah.  On joining L Sol Tace, Sy said he is “very happy to be in the band with a great bunch of guys! The style of music suits me perfectly and not only that I see great potential with the band.  Having seen them live, listening to the new album which blew me away and speaking to Sam for a few weeks, I knew I wanted in.  Sam sent me over ‘Fall’ with lead guitars and few hours later I emailed a video back, close enough to nailing it.  That was my audition.”

Sam Wallace, guitarist, says “having Sy in the band is great for us; he’s one hell of a player with a great CV behind him.  We can’t wait to get out there and hit the stage as a 5 piece and destroy it!  If you liked us before just wait until you see us now!”

L Sol Tace’s debut album is due to be released mid 2013, with guest solos from Peredur ap Gwynedd (Pendulum), Agamoth (Abgott) and Danny (Breed 77).  The first single release will be ‘Rise’.

L Sol Tace’s next shows are at Terrorizer’s Grindhouse at The Dev on 23rd February, Fighting Cocks in Kingston on 15th March, The Rev in Ipswich on 22nd March and Club 333 in London on 24th March, with plenty more to be announced in the next few weeks.

You can hear the track ‘Mistress Of The Sun’ from the new album, featuring Agamoth from Abgott.

On a beautiful summers evening, I made my way down (with brutal hangover intact) to one of my favourite venues, The Borderline in the West End of London, to catch a few bands that I’ve been meaning to catch for a while, and also hang out with some excellent friends, while most importantly, listening to first class music!

With the weather freezing in London and doors not opening until 7.30pm; although it stated 7pm on the tickets, I wasn’t surprised to see a large group of cold moaning metallers, eagerly waiting to come inside when I arrived.

But with the clubs cosy atmosphere and great lighting,  and a visit to the bar I was happy patiently waiting for the bands to come on.
