“In just about a month we will embark on KATAKLYSM‘s longest one way headlining stretch crossing four continents in nearly 20 years,” commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “Heaven’s Venom has been welcomed with open arms by fans and critics alike across the globe. As I mentioned before in interviews, Heaven’s Venom is a very personal, aggressive and dark KATAKLYSM album that hits home. We love this album and want to share its anger with our fans! We want to play places we have never been before and also revisit our loyal supporters while creating some new fans along the way. One thing we know, is that this will be the only time you will be able to see the band on this record or for a long time. So don’t say ‘I’ll catch them the next time’ because there might not be a next time. We are thinking of taking along break after this massive trek and who knows what will happen next. So if you are a fan of KATAKLYSM you have been called to duty!”

Montreal based extreme metallers KATAKLYSM recently wrapped up their first ever run of Ozzfest tour dates! Vocalist Maurizio Iacono recently commented on the bands experience playing the U.S.’ biggest traveling metal festival:
“We didn’t know what to expect going into Ozzfest . Already being invited was an amazing moment for us but we did our thing and it was monstrous! Kids were going crazy and we couldn’t have been more happy. I don’t know why it took over 15 years for someone to give us a real chance here but I want to give a big thank you to John Fenton, Sharon Osborne and everyone from Ozzfest camp for this opportunity. We stood strong and made loads of new fans! Now we’re going to continue on our quest across the US with DEVILDRIVER and KITTIE for the next three weeks. Hope to see all you fuckers out there! Heaven’s Venom just came out yesterday in America so go get it and come check us out live. The new tracks are shredding!”

Commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono: “After the crazy videos we did with EX DEO it was only natural for us to upgrade the KATAKLYSM visuals as well. We decided to try to recreate the underworld fantasy atmosphere depicted in the artwork with some great visual effects. The song is about surviving the judgment that others cast upon you, and that which is important and feels right to you. Spread your venom and not the lies of your
enemies! Ivan did another fantastic job and we are super happy with it
and hopefully you guys dig it too. See you on tour!”

Maurizio Iacono, vocalist of iconic Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM, recently gave us a track by track break down of the their new album Heaven’s Venom. The following is Part 2 of the commentary, which encompasses tracks 8 – 10 from the album.
“At the Edge of the World”:
“Forget IN FLAMES and AT THE GATES! This song rivals the best of them in the melodic thrash area. This song will make many heads turn I think. Unleash your anger and bang your head! For when you feel like your suffocating and you’re at your breaking point. Standing at the edge of the world; will you jump or survive?”
“Suicide River”:
“The most dark, melodic and dramatic song on the album. A gut gripping and very intense song, fast and mid paced without taking a breath. Deals with suicide and how easy it is to take that route versus living in this fucked up world.”
“Blind Savior”:
“The slow finale. A very atmospheric song with a sharp edge. A sing along song it will make you think. Rivals are best slow songs like “Road to Devastation”. Song deals with questioning God and faith. Questions what you can’t see.”

Maurizio Iacono, vocalist of iconic Canadian extreme metallers KATAKLYSM, recently gave us a track by track break down of the their new album Heaven’s Venom. The following is Part 2 of the commentary, which encompasses tracks 4 – 7 from the album.
“Push the Venom”:
“One of my faves on the album for its simple in your face approach. The first video and single off the album. Aggressive with no compromise and you will be singing ‘Push the Venom’! This one deals with people who think they know you but they don’t and judge you for it with no merit.”
“Hail the Renegade”:
“A more experimental KATAKLYSM on this song but again an undeniable KATAKLYSM approach. Song is straight forward with weird patterns and a bass solo that will blow your mind. Again some old KATAKLYSM here and a very cool JFK speech at the end. Song deals with the protecting our freedoms at any cost necessary and showing that this battle has been on going since the very beginning of civilization and still today.”
“As the Walls Collapse”:
“This song is in the melodic haven where the intricate clashes the dark melodies. A very fist pumping song. I can see this one becoming a fan favorite very quickly. IRON MAIDEN would be proud. Song is about feeling imprisoned and having those walls around you and what it takes to bring them down.”
“Numb & Intoxicated”:
“This is a mid paced melodic and chugging track. To the point Death metal with a crazy chorus riff that would make Zack Wylde bang his head. Song title says it all.” Read the rest of this entry »

So we decided to give KATAKLYSM a visual masterpiece as well and hire Ivan Colic once again to direct and produce the new clip for the song ‘Push The Venom’. It’s a hard hitting track with lots of anger and power and I’m positive Ivan will give it justice.
