JOB FOR A COWBOY: Exclusive Video Premiere of “Tarnished Gluttony”

August 9th, 2012

JOB FOR A COWBOY‘ have premiered their “Tarnished Gluttony” video. The disturbing nine-and-a-half-minute clip was directed by Michael Panduro (Saint Vitus, Cephalic Carnage), and comes off the band’s Demonocracy full-length, issued earlier this year through Metal Blade Records.

Comments founding frontman Jonny Davy: “‘Tarnished Gluttony’ originally runs off the idea of blind faith into our government and monetary system. The director ran with the idea and spliced it with a H.P. Lovecraftian twist. The video streams the fascination of religion and the actions people justify in the name of religion, and this video is a spin on the old biblical tale of Abraham and Isaac, however, set in the world of Lovecraftian mythology. The point is, acting blindly in faith to a Christian deity is just as absurd as worshiping squid like monsters from space who live under the sea.”

Adds Panduro: “As a commercial director, I’m a complete failure. The band asked for just one thing and I couldn’t deliver. Indeed, this video has no boobs.”

Demonocracy tackles a host of political and economic themes and continues to raise the eyebrows of fans and media alike. Don’t miss the band on tour in the UK with Dying Fetus in September.

Metal Alliance Tour

March 30th 2012, Edmonton, Canada

Edmonton Events Center

Review and pics by Monika Deviat

On March 30th 2012 the Metal Alliance Tour stopped in Edmonton Alta., at the Edmonton Events Center. With seven touring bands and a local band getting the opening spot after winning a contest put on by Concert Works in Edmonton, you knew the sets were going to go by fast. The venue filled up right after doors open and there were line ups for the merch booth that lasted most of the evening. We were also informed we only had the first three minutes to get some photos so we did our best at being ninja photographers. Unfortunately, a lot of the bands had some pretty dim stage lighting. The sound, as well as the pit, were broken up by pillars spaced throughout the middle of the venue.
