(25 July 2011 – Colorado Springs, CO) After more than three decades of delivering heavy metal to the masses, Jag Panzer have decided to call it quits.
“We are proud of every album we released and the support we received from the heavy metal community,” states guitarist and founder Mark Briody. ” We’ve played so many places around the world and enjoyed every minute of it but the time has come where we just cannot move forward as a band.”
Guitarist Christian Lasegue left the band last month to pursue his degree full time. “Christian did an amazing job on The Scourge of the Light and it was a pleasure working with him,” continues Briody. ”We wished Christian well but kept this quiet until we found a replacement.”
Drummer Rikard Stjernquist says,”Several guitar players applied for the job. It was a pleasant surprise to see so many young guitarists with advanced chops. One player, 19 year old Jake Dreyer, submitted videos of him nailing solos from both Chris Broderick and Christian Lasegue. We were ready to welcome Jake into the band but unfortunately that will not happen. There is no doubt in any of our minds that Jake will go on to be a household name in his own right.”
Bassist John Tetley adds a final statement:” In closing, we’d like to send out a huge heartfelt THANK YOU to metal fans throughout the world. You all rule!”
MORIBUND RECORDS has confirmed May 3rd as the release date for SATAN’S HOST’s brand-new album, By the Hands of the Devil. A hugely anticipated release, By the Hands of the Devil sees the return of original SATAN’S HOST vocalist Leviathan Thisiren (AKA Harry Conklin of JAG PANZER/TITAN FORCE fame) back into the SATAN’S HOST grotto.
Satan's Host (2011)
Recorded at Flatline Audio with in-demand producer Dave Otero (CEPHALIC CARNAGE, COBALT), this new opus has taken the band to new heights in every aspect: lyrical content, musicianship, power, melody, and pure infernal magick. Prepare for Satanic power metal majesty! Fittingly, By the Hands of the Devil once again features artwork by the legendary Joe Petagno (MOTORHEAD, MARDUK, KRISIUN), which can be viewed here:

Hardrock Haven is premiering a track from the new Jag Panzer release, The Scourge of the Light.
Jag Panzer - The Scourge of the Light
“The guitar solo for ‘Union’ was one of the last tracks I recorded for the album,” said Jag Panzer guitarist Chris Lasegue. “Up to that point, I had been recording solos that were a bit on the ‘shreddy’ side and I wanted to show a different side of my playing. One of my major influences is Eric Johnson, and this solo is a tribute to him. I wanted to capture that flowing, seamless, soulful vibe that he demonstrates in his music. The first part of the solo was pretty much composed in advance, but after that I just improvised, just playing by feeling. During playback I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. Really, that solo is actually my favorite one on the album!”
US traditional power metallers JAG PANZER have revealed the cover art and tracklist of their forthcoming album, Scourge Of The Light. Check out the artwork, painted by LA artist Justin Yun, below.

Megadeth headlined the third day at Tuska and offered a great deal of the classic Megadeth tunes as well as newer stuff from the excellent ENDGAME album. Before Megadeth concluded the annual Tuska festival, we had the great opportunity to talk to the band’s guitarist Chris Broderick about the big four tour, the latest studio album, and of course Jag Panzer and Nevermore.
If one festival is now known as THE festival of classic heavy metal, it must be Keep It True. The tenth version of KIT was sold out in a few weeks. That should come as no surprise once you see the lineup. Everybody who has been there knows the deal, you never manage to catch all the bands, to buy all the vinyl, to drink all the beer, and to meet all your friends. But we tried, oh yes we tried I can tell you…
