The mighty Jalometalli Open Air Metal festival strikes back once again with a killer line-up to maintain its metallic lofty status on the Finnish festival map. The festival is known for relying on an old school metal approach offering traditional metal to extreme metal with classic metal to the extreme black metal. The festival also paid attention to young rising and local bands who played the small third stage. That was unique and thankfully most of the bands sounded killer. The Metal Rules team hit the grounds of Oulu to see several absolutely killer bands. The whole Jalometalli as a festival is so unique and one of kind that anyone reading this article should take a glance at the offering of the festival. Here is a brief article on the fest.
IRON SAVIOR, currently one of the most popular German heavy/power metal bands return with their new album this January. Following their acclaimed Megatropolis album over four years ago, the Hamburg-based are ready to douse fans with their scorching classic metal thunder once again with the release of their new opus, The Landing, with a confirmed North American street date of January 17, 2012 via AFM Records.
On The Landing, IRON SAVIOR´s classic Condition Red lineup has been reunited, resulting in the expected impressive blend of power riffs, haunting melodies and rough, expressive vocals of the band’s landmark sound together with full force, while also achieving their most versatile and varied album to date. Like the band’s previous albums, The Landing was recorded at founding vocalist/guitarist Piet Sielck´s Powerhouse Studio, and yields eleven powerful anthems, as always the songs loaded with the band’s intriguing science fiction concepts.
IRON SAVIOR, featuring guitarist/vocalist/producer Piet Sielck (URIAH HEEP, BLIND GUARDIAN, SAXON) have inked a deal with AFM Records. The band is right now putting finishing touches on their new album, which will be released in the near future. More details will be revealed soon. The band’s last album was 2007′s Megatropolis.
IRON SAVIOR who recently signed with AFM Records will have their new track ‘Heavy Metal Never Dies’ from their upcoming yet untitled album premiere on The Metal Madman Radio Show September 28 between 7-10 PM EST. For more information visit Themetalmadman.com.
Piet is the lead vocalist and guitarist for the brilliant German band Iron Savior. He’s also guitarist in another new band called Savage Circus which features ex-Blind Guardian drummer, Thomen Stauch, along with 2 member’s of Sweden’s thrash/speed/power-metal gods, Persuader. I got to speak to Piet about both of his bands and the plans for each in the coming months.
Piet Sielck of Iron Savior Interviewed by EvilG in Feb. 2001
I was very excited to be given the opportunity to interview the true brain behind Germany’s sci-fi power metallers, IRON SAVIOR – Piet Sielck. Piet became a known name in the metal arena as a producer and engineer, working with bands like Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Saxon and Grave Digger. After a few years in this role the desire grew to form a band of his own…and thus began the saga of the Iron Savior. Since their first self titled release in 1997 the band have recorded three CD Singles / EP’s and two other full-length albums. Their most recent, and arguably their strongest work to date is the magnificent album DARK ASSAULT. Released in Jan 2001, this CD continues the tale of the Iron Savior and has proven to me that this band is no mere side project but an entity that stands on it’s own as one of the finest true metal bands on the scene today.
Kai Hansen Interview Interviewed May 19, 1999 by EvilG
Let me tell ya it’s not everyday that I get to chat with someone who I’m such a fan of. This interview was rescheduled about two or three times but thanks to Steve (Noise) it finally happened on May 19th, 1999.
For those unfortunate beings who have no clue as to who Kai Hansen is, well hang your head in shame. I won’t bother giving you a history lesson here. If you’re interested, there are a number of places on the web where you can read about Kai’s history with Helloween, Gamma Ray and Iron Savior.
