I’m excited tonight, as this is my first time seeing Hypocrisy, and as a bonus, they are being supported by two of the UK’s finest up-and-coming death metal acts; Bloodshot Dawn and Ancient Ascendant.
Even on the way into the capital I spot eager looking, band t-shirt clad gig-goers who are obviously headed in the same direction as me, and you get the feeling that tonight cannot fail to entertain!
I arrive 30 minutes before doors and step out onto a breezy and (as usual,) busy Camden high street, and across the road the snake of black-shirted metallers is already coiled around The World’s End pub, awaiting admittance to The Underworld. Read the rest of this entry »
Swedish death metal legends HYPOCRISY, have been forced to sit out their upcoming North American tour this May due to reasons beyond their control. The band members had received their visa approvals and everything was going as scheduled, until the embassy let them know that the earliest they could pick up their visas, get them stamped and so on, wasn’t until late June at the earliest. A regular procedure that would normally take just a few days to sort, takes much longer at the moment due to that current workload Homeland Security is experiencing.
“As we were getting ready to go get our visas stamped and ready for the tour we were informed that the earliest we could go initially was sometime in July,” explains guitarist/vocalist PeterTägtgren. “We then immediately continued to call them, got the label to help with some letters, and put our lawyer to work etc. The best that got us was an appointment in late June. This is a HUGE blow to us, to our fans and everyone who has supported HYPOCRISY in North America. Sometimes there are battles you can’t win, and this is one of them. We will be back, I can promise that!”
The trek was also initially set to feature Brazilian brothers in death KRISIUN, Belgian gore-grinders ABORTED, and technical-melodic-death-masters ARSIS, as well as AUTUMN’S END and STARKILL on select shows. The tour will continue as previously scheduled at this time minus HYPOCRISY and ABORTED.

Swedish death metal monsters HYPOCRISY are currently wrapping up the recording process of their upcoming new studio album entitled End Of Disclosure. The record is tentatively scheduled for a late March release.
Band leader Peter Tägtgren commented: “Hi all, we’re still in the studio working hard to finalize the album. Horgh just layed down the drums – and let me tell you – it sounds awesome!!! Thundering and brutal! We can’t wait to put out the new tracks and play them live! Hope to meet you all soon on road and wish you guys a great X-mas and happy new year!“

Swedish death metal masters, HYPOCRISY, have released the track listing and artwork for their upcoming DVD entitled Hell Over Sofia – 20 Years of Chaos and Confusion. The release contains a full concert from the “Long Time, No Death” 2010 tour in Sofia, Bulgaria and a 1.5 hour documentary. Look for it to be unleashed in stores on October 14th (Europe) and October 18th (North America).

The annual Helsinki Metal meeting was hold in February on the eve of the cold winter storm coming from the sea. The wind was blowing the area of the Cable Factory when hundreds of people were heading to enjoy the metal offering on the stage and in the exhibition area. Last year the event suffered from the decreased number of visitors. However bigger names pulled the whole cable factory full.
