LA power/thrashers HERETIC have posted a video for “Child of War”, a song coming off “A Time of Crisis” album which we released last July by Metal on Metal Records. The clip was shot and directed by Metal Refuge TV’s FreddyMedal (a.k.a. Fred Swift of Down Heaval/Augmented) and can be seen on YouTube.
HERETIC is currently working on the follow-up effort which will feature such new tracks as “Demonize” (title track) and “Quick Sand”. This summer the band will come to Europe for the first time to play at the Headbangers Open Air festival in Germany, and the album is planned to be released in July.
Also OUTRAGE, German old school black/thrash band, have a new video featuring live footage as well. “Into the Abyss of Belial” is a song they wrote in 1985 and re-recorded in 2011 for “Go to Hell” album, released in November the same year through Metal on Metal Records. The clip was edited by Alexander Haas of Nodeoland and can be watched it on the label’s YouTube channel.
OUTRAGE is in the process of recording of their next album “The Elemental War”. The release is planned for 2013, which marks the 30th anniversary of the band. According to the founder and guitarist, Udo “The Bringer of Doom”, the new songs are in the same style as those he wrote in the ’80s, but the new album will be more raw sounding than “Go to Hell”.
US power/thrash legends HERETIC have been confirmed for the 16th edition of Headbangers Open Air festival that will take place on 25th-27th of July 2013 in Brande-Hoernerkirchen, Germany.
The other confirmed so far bands include: Vicious Rumors, Forte, Blood Feast, Demon, Stormwitch, Praying Mantis, Iron Savior, Rival, Muro, Sleepy Hollow, Kissin’ Dynamite, Midnight Priest, Skiltron, Game Over, King Leoric, Trespass, 77 and MX Machine. HERETIC are currently looking for more shows to play in Europe around the HOA festival.
Their comeback album “A Time of Crisis” was released in July this year through Metal on Metal Records.

Metal On Metal Records is proud announce that the legendary US Power/Thrash Metal act HERETIC has joined its roster.
The band, formed in 1985 in Los Angeles, CA, released an EP “Torture Knows No Boundary” (1986) and a full-length “Breaking Point” (1988) through Metal Blade Records before disbanding. Later on the founding member, songwriter and guitarist Brian Korban together with bassist Dennis O’Hara formed REVEREND, which featured the vocal talents of the late David Wayne (METAL CHURCH).
In 2011 Brian Korban reformed the band, recruiting Julian Mendez, the vocalist who sang on the band’s first EP. Soon they were joined by the seasoned musicians, long-time friends and collaborators, guitarist Glenn Rogers (VIKING, ex-HIRAX, ex-DELIVERANCE, ex-STEEL VENGEANCE and others) and bassist Angelo Espino (BITCH, ex-REVEREND, ex-HIRAX, ex-ANGER AS ART, ex-UNCLE SLAM and others) and a young, but talented drummer Ignazio Coppola.
This line-up has already played several shows and started recording the new album “A Time Of Crisis”, which at this point is almost complete and scheduled for July 26th release. The final recording sessions with producer John Anthony Haddad (known for his work with HIRAX) at the Trench Studios are scheduled for May 26th-28th.
Metal On Metal Records states: “It’s not uncommon that reunions of once great bands from the ’80s turn into disappointments, but after hearing several songs from this upcoming album we are confident that it will be one strong and exciting come back (in spite of the lack of Mike Howe who sang on the band’s ’88 LP and who has retired from the music business).”
