The Finnish Metal Expo has become more an indoor metal festival in the heart of the Finnish nuclear winter. The line-up of the FME 2012 offered a great and wide deal of metal from the extreme to the more AOR based approach. Even though the whole idea of the metal expedition has dried out within these years, instead bands seem to draw more interest. Nearly 4000 metal worshippers have crawled thru the wintery Helsinki to attend the Finnish Metal Expo. Here is the brief article with a lot of great pictures from The Finnish Metal Expo.

The Cable Factory

The annual Finnish Metal Expo was arranged in the old ancient Cable Factory in the heart of Helsinki. Even though the winter wind was blowing in cold from the open sea, thousands of metalheads were crawling to the FME event. Once again the roster of the FME event offered plenty of interesting names. The purpose of the event is to offer a good chance for young and talented Finnish bands to perform in front of a critical metal audience. Besides new talented bands, known and classic names were at present at FME. The Metal-Rules.com squad was, as usual, at the annual Finnish Metal Expo to feel what’s up in the air of the metal world.

FME – Finnish Metal Expo / Helsinki Metal Meeting

The 12 –13 th of February 2009
FME – Finnish Metal Expo has become a serious metal event and a gathering place for the metal community. The purpose of the whole event is to gather all the important and influential persons, labels and managers involved in the rock/metal business to meet each other and above all have a relaxed feeling and enjoy the atmosphere with colleagues, beer, and tasteful food. Several famous faces could be witnessed from the music business and of course a lot of metal fans having a chance to take pics with their idols. Several instrument clinics played an important role at the Expo when for example George Kollias from Nile demonstrated his drumming talent.
Even though the previous events have been completely sold out and were an utter success, the fifth expo wasn’t sold out even though 6000 people visited during two days. However, here is a brief article covering a few bands and in general the feeling of the Expo. It is truly impossible to check out each band in action because of the normal schmoozing with personal contacts and other important persons.

FINNISH METAL EXPO

The Finnish Metal Expo was arranged for the fourth time. The previous events have been an utter success with sold out nights and awesome band line-ups. The expo is held every year, where several more or less important and not so important musicians and above all metal leaders usually gather to hang out and of course check out the latest on the metal map. Due to overwhelming interest and success, the organization of the Expo has expanded the expo capacity by arranging more space for different kinds of studio and other guitar and band clinics. Two notable band clinics were held by Children of Bodom and Stratovarius members. Of course, record labels, several magazines, and festival representatives werein attendance at the event and all in all everything related to a wide range of metal and hard rock was at the expo. The metal expo wouldn’t be any real expo event without live music and above all metal bands playing there. During these two days plenty of known as well as unknown bands got the great opportunity to play in front of thousands. As a matter of fact, 5000 metal maniacs visited the event during the weekend!
