Sweden´s premium hardrock band FATAL SMILE wants to use video footage filmed by the real fans of Dio in the video for their next single titled “For the last in Line“, a ballad about Ronnie James Dio and the legacy he left behind.
FATAL SMILE did a brief tour with Dio in Europe 2009. On a tour in 2010 – supporting Queensryche on their last tour with Geoff Tate – they where devastated when the news of Ronnie´s passing hit them while going off stage after a show in Germany.
-We all fell in love with Ronnie, he was the sweetest & most gentle man you could ever imagine, says Blade, vocalist in FATAL SMILE.
- Mr Y (guitarist in FS) left the room in silence, and later revieled the first piano piece we´ve ever heard him play. It was a sad little tune and the lyrics came to me right away.
Blade continues:
- I recorded it with tears in my eyes the same night and sent it to Diana Deville of Dios management. She thought it should be released, so it was released the very next day digitally. The recording belongs to Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund, and the revenues from it goes uncut the the foundations fight against cancer. The song is available on youtube:
The song was later rerecorded as a full on power ballad and is included on FATAL SMILE´s latest Gold-awarded album “21st Century Freaks“, that was released in May 2012.
Following the success of previous singles/videos from the album -”Welcome to the Freakshow” and “My Private Hell“- the video and single will be released on the day of Dios passing due to cancer three years ago: May 16. It will truly be a tribute to the greatest singer ever – Ronnie James Dio – R.I.P.
If you want to see your clip of Dio in the tribute video, please send a link to your clip on youtube or any other outlet to: info@fatalsmile.com

Alex Jonsson from Days of Anger was kind to do this shorter interview with me and metal-rules.com. The band is a new Swedish thrash metal act that involves members from the bands Scaar and Fatal Smile. Their debut album was released at the beginning of 2011 and down below you can read about what me and Alex talked about.
We are taking time off the road with the final post production of the new album “Welcome to the Freakshow“. It is scheduled for mixing in may. We are damn proud and happy so far!
As for distribution in your area, Licensing for all regions isn´t finalized, so where and when the album is in stores in your area isn´t decided. We are aiming to release world wide by late summer / early fall. We´ll keep ya posted!
LOGO COMPETITION!!! The new album and stage set will feature a new style and artwork and YOU are invited to decide the new look of Fatal Smile! We need a kick ass logo that jumps out of a poster and makes our album and backdrop look awsome!
Tell your artsy friends, the photoshop gurus around you!

FATAL SMILE is searching for a drummer in the Stockholm area that´s got what it takes and who´s 110% dedicated to Rock´n Roll – ready to tour the world! The band has made the following statement:
“Due to Zteff´s personal situation he is not able to dedicate his life to the craziness of a touring band anymore. We have spent three glorious years together, months at a time in a bus, shared thousands of miles, beers and many gallons of booze! He has never missed a beat or a gig and will be greatly missed by all in Fatal camp!
So, now we´re looking for a new member of this mayhem we call our band! These are not easy boots to fill: The guy we´re looking for is a hungry, ambitious and crazy hard-hitter with the attitude and presence of a Fatal Smile, who enjoys spending his time on the road, in a bar and behind the drums – our drums!”
The one who helps find this monster will be honored with a finder’s fee: his first interview as a Fatal Smile!
Please send a video, photo and a web/MySpace link & info about yourself to: info@fatalsmile.com
Looking forward to hearing from YOU!!! Peace, Y, Blade & Alx

Fatal Smile has recently been out supporting Doro and WASP in the U.S. I was lucky to have a moment with Blade before they headed off to England to support Bullet Boys, Britny Fox and Pretty Boy Floyd. Fatal Smile will also be the support act to Vince Neil when he heads out on the road this December in Europe.

After coming home from the muddy banks of the Roskilde Festival it was time to head to Helsingborg, a town situated a few miles north of Malmoe, Sweden to enjoy the newly started Rockhimlen Festival. During the festival’s 2 days 23 acts performed. That was about 12 acts per day and the festivals main focus was set to lift up glam/sleaze acts in the light. The bands were mostly local but there were also a few more well known acts from other parts of Sweden as well as from Great Britain.
Fatal Smile Neo Natural Freaks Tour The Rock, Copenhagen Denmark, 22/6 – 2006
Review & pictures by Anders Sandvall
Even though the World Cup of Soccer seemed to hold Scandinavia in a steady grip it was time for me to take the train over to Copenhagen to witness one of the new up and coming bands from Sweden. This Swedish act plays heavy 80’s hard rock mixed with dirty glam/sleaze party rock’n’roll and is called Fatal Smile. I’d really looked forward to seeing the guys live because their latest album NEO NATURAL FREAKS literally blew my head off.
