Following months of touring in North America to round off 2010, British thrashers EVILE are back on the road in their homeland as they kick off a five-date headlining UK tour.
EVILE will be tearing their way around the UK with support from fellow Brit thrashers ELIMINATION and MUTANT. Each show of the tour will also feature a winning band from EVILE’s recent support slot competition in conjunction with Metal Hammer.

“I’m just about to step out of the door to embark on our last set of dates before going into the studio to record Evile’s third album. Quickly reading through the Evile feature in today’s Kerrang! has put me quite in the mood for getting back out there, even if it is for five dates in the UK. Really excited to see all those smiling faces going mental, and hopefully we’ll have a raw version of a new track to play for you all.

The band wrap up the tour on December 18th in Salt Lake City and will return to the UK for a break over the holiday period, before hitting the road again in the new year.

OL DRAKE was dressed as a cowboy for the event, jumping in memory of late EVILE bassist MIKE ALEXANDER and in aid of the British Lung Foundation. ALEXANDER MILAS, who was dressed as Zorro, jumped in memory of Dio and in aid of the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund.

OL DRAKE, lead guitarist for British thrashers EVILE, is preparing to bungee jump next to London’s famous Tower Bridge this Saturday, 25th September along with Metal Hammer editor ALEXANDER MILAS.
OL DRAKE and ALEXANDER MILAS will be jumping from Pottersfield Park, next to Tower Bridge, at 10:30am on Saturday whilst dressed as cowboys. Fans are encouraged to head down and watch the brave metalheads throwing themselves off the 160ft crane.
OL DRAKE will be jumping in memory of late EVILE bassist MIKE ALEXANDER and in aid of the British Lung Foundation, while ALEXANDER MILAS will be jumping in aid of the Ronnie James Dio ‘Stand Up and Shout’ Cancer Fund.
With just days left until the jump, OL DRAKE offers his final thoughts:
“I think I am more nervous of having to walk through London to get to the jump while dressed as a cowboy. If anyone gives me any abuse, I will spray them with the two water pistols I have. I will no doubt be shouting ‘SLAYER’ on the way down in honour of Mike. Looking forward to it! Hope to see some people at the bottom shouting things at us. In the name of Mike and Dio, we shall jump off a big crane (never thought I’d be saying that, in so many ways).
“Right after I’m back down to earth safely I’m gonna have a pint of cider and then get back up to Huddersfield to leave on our 3-month US tour. Back down to earth, and back on the road.”

EVILE’s 2009 album, INFECTED NATIONS, is due to be re-released on October 11th as a limited edition redux version. This special version of the album includes a bonus disc with fifteen extra tracks, including the band’s popular cover of PANTERA’s “Cemetery Gates”, as well as eight songs recorded live in the studio with new bassist JOEL GRAHAM and six songs recorded live at Hammerfest in 2009. Also included are a free INFECTED NATIONS album cover woven patch and a sticker sheet.
The UK’s rising thrash phenoms, EVILE are eagerly anticipating their next major North American tour starting next week in Tulsa, OK. To pass the time (and to make sure that fans air guitar correctly at all of the shows), guitarist, Ol Drake has made an instructional video that teaches viewers how to play the INFECTED NATIONS track, “Time No More.”Ol teaches the song riff by riff at varying speeds to give fans a truly in depth experience with learning the material.

British thrashers EVILE, who recently won a coveted Metal Hammer Golden Gods award, are currently preparing for a huge North American tour, which kicks off at the end of September and runs through until just before Christmas.
For EVILE, this will be their second mammoth North American trek in 2010, after the band spent two months on the road in the USA and Canada earlier this year.

“For the second time this year, Evile are proud to be able to say we’re coming across the pond to play some more shows throughout America and Canada. Last time we were there for two months, this time we’re staying for three, playing at loads of places we never went to last time, but also revisiting many places we played at with the mighty Overkill and Kreator earlier in the year. British thrashers EVILE have revealed that they are currently hard at work writing for a brand new studio album.
EVILE, who recently won a coveted Metal Hammer Golden Gods award, are writing the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2009 album, INFECTED NATIONS. The band announce that they will once again be working with producer RUSS RUSSELL.
EVILE lead guitarist OL DRAKE comments:
“We’re well on our way into writing the material for Evile’s third album now. We’ve been playing around with the odd part and riffs since ‘Infected Nations’ came out in 2009. I have about ten song ideas which are being built on daily, but not going to stop there. We’re not going to limit ourselves this time to a certain number of songs. We’re just going to write until it’s time to give up and go into pre-production. We’ve been sending tracks/recordings/ideas back and forth between ourselves, Russ Russell and our management (Wiseblood) and there’s an excellent vibe going.
“I don’t want this to be a typical ‘new album’ update using the same descriptions and words most bands use to big up an album, so I’ll just say the new stuff is really getting my blood boiling and my heart racing. We’ve been through a lot over the past year, and it’s being naturally reflected in the music which is coming out. I’ve never been as passionate as I am now about writing the best material we can. With Joel in the mix, and him being a die-hard thrash fan since the ’80s, I’m looking forward to see how this will turn out. British thrashers EVILE are currently doing the summer festival rounds in Europe ahead of a huge three-month North American trek.
EVILE has just a few shows left this month, including an appearance on the Ronnie James Dio main stage at the UK’s Bloodstock festival this weekend, before the massive tour that will see the band team up with the likes of OVERKILL, FORBIDDEN, DRI, BONDED BY BLOOD, GAMA BOMB and EARLY MAN.

“We just got back from playing two festivals in Europe which both kicked arse. Up first was Wacken. We’d been waiting to play this for years, and we finally got there. What a place! We played to a packed tent of great metalheads (thank you again for watching our set). It was a tough as hell set to play; every time a pit broke out, the dust and dirt would come onto the stage. We all had black teeth, couldn’t breathe and all our gear is now brown. Metal! First shower I’ve had where the water going down the drain is pure black. Thank you Wacken!
“Then we ventured to good old Belgium to play Alcatraz Metal Fest. We headlined the second stage and had a blast. The crew and crowd were great and friendly. Other than Kreator having to lend us their airport shuttle from a big mix-up, everything was awesome!
“Up next we have what I’d call our ‘home festival’, Bloodstock Open Air. Without Bloodstock I don’t think we’d be where we are today, so we’ll always have a special place for it. Can’t wait to get there and pound some Bloodstock metal yet again! See you all there!” Read the rest of this entry »
