 70000 TONS OF METAL
First our North American scouts went to Rochester NY, to find the last member to complete another Allstar-Band: Vocalist Joe Comeau (ex-OVERKILL guitarist and former singer of ANNIHILATOR, TAD MOROSE and LIEGE LORD), drummer Randy Black (PRIMAL FEAR/ex-ANNIHILATOR), ex-ANNIHILATOR bassist Russ Bergquist and guitarist Nikolai Wurk are DUSK MACHINE!
Then they followed the trail of destruction left from Buffalo, NY all the way to Florida by MALEVOLENT CREATION.
In the meantime our ship picked up our German scouting parties. Guess what they found? They found the South of Germany in complete DESTRUCTION!

Legendary German thrashers DESTRUCTION have just announced their return to the Nuclear Blast fold!
Comments mainman Schmier:
“Sometimes I really hate the business side of my job, we have been thru some very difficult decisions in the last couple of months. Now after some weeks of hard work, I can proudly announce that DESTRUCTION is back with NUCLEAR BLAST Records!
We really wanna thank AFM Records for the great co-operation in the last years! Cheers for supporting all our craziness, I know it wasn`t always easy folks!!
Going back to NB feels like coming back home now, working with old friends is one of the biggest achievements you can have in this music business known as a “shark tank”! Almost eleven years ago, Markus Staiger and his label made it possible for DESTRUCTION to come back in a strong way, those were some of the best years the band ever had!
Hopefully this will be the last label change of the band’s career, we have returned to our home port again and it feels absolutely fantastic! We are working on a fast & furious new album that will kick ass in January 2011. Expect the roughest piece of THRASH you’ve heard from DESTRUCTION in many years!”
And A + R manager Jaap Wagemaker:
“We are very stoked to announce that legendary German thrashers DESTRUCTION will be re-joining the nuclear family again! After a small stint with another label, the band around scene icon Schmier has made the decision to return to the their label home Nuclear Blast!
Everybody knows that Nuclear Blast was the label that brought back the band with a bang with their comeback album “All Hell Breaks Loose” and the following tour they did with Kreator and Sodom. “Hell comes to your town!” was a huge success for the band as well.
After releasing several more cds and dvds the band decided to try something new, but over the years we have stayed in contact with both Schmier and Mike.
When the time was right, we decided to sit around the table and realized that the future of both DESTRUCTION and Nuclear Blast should be a path we should walk together, and so DESTRUCTION is back home!! At the moment DESTRUCTION are hard at work to seal this deal with their most thrash sounding album for a long time! The future belongs to DESTRUCTION - the mad butcher has returned!!”

Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer
Interview Conducted by Robert Williams
Videography Courtesy of Sandra Torres
Schmier of German thrash metal legends Destruction took some time out of his busy schedule recently to sit down on the Destruction tour bus before a San Antonio, Texas concert and talk metal. Among the topics covered include his unique perspective on touring the United States post Dimebag, the upcoming Chris Witchunter tribute concert, his recollection of the controversy regarding the band’s cover of the Exploited song "Fuck The USA" as well as meeting guitarist Mike Sifringer and the early days of Destruction.

DESTRUCTION
DEBAUCHERY & SCARED TO DEATH
Tavastia Helsinki Finland
04.12.2008
The legendary German thrash metal patrol Destruction have been a more or less regular visitor up in the northernmost territories of Finland. Therefore, it could have been expected the trio would have expanded and gained the fanatical and loyal mad butcher fanbase. But the cold reality literally hit the face in the most brutal way on thursday when the german thrash butchers stroke back on their own headlining tour with a couple of the countrymates.

For an introduction to what Bloodstock Open Air is all about, check out my preview of it here. Suffice it to say that BOA is the only proper UK outdoor metal festival that is devoted to true metal of all genres. This would be the first time I was making the trip up to the Midlands to cover this amazing festival.
Reaching there late Thursday night, we set up camp and went off to explore. BOA has one of the most random things I’d expect at a metal festival: a shisha tent! Armed with a 1.5 litre bottle of JD and two bongs of shisha, we spent the night there meeting weird and crazy people (Frida from Sweden, if you’re reading this, get in touch!). After a disgusting fry-up at the All-Day Breakfast bar, I went off to bed to catch some shut-eye before Friday’s bands. Good start to BOA!

The Underworld, Camden
All live pics and review by HannTu
A night of old school thrash, with the re-formed veterans from Bristol, Onslaught touring in support of their recent album KILLING PEACE, and the German legends of thrash, Destruction – what more could you ask for? A night with glamour model Jordan and a lifetime supply of beer, but I digress…

Wacken Open Air 2007
Wacken is a blessed mecca of the whole metal world. Again this year it was entirely sold out when ten thousands of metal manics travelled from all around the world to gather and witness plenty of ass kicking bands. The weather forecast for Wacken didn’t look that promising. The chaotic and muddy mess caused by long and heavy rains rampaged the ground during the whole summer. The festival often provides a survival test to every visitor with its mud and crap. But but gods of metal had seen the light and blessed the whole three day metal inferno with tremendous extreme heat and a sunny weekend. Things could not be better…sun, metal and beer. That combination is nothing but an utter perfect way to enjoy the metallic mayhem at Wacken.
As usual, the true metal commando team from Metal-Rules.Com was there again witnessing a helluva lot of great bands and above all an unexpected huge fire in the main area. Feel, see and enjoy this article.

CANDLEMASS / DESTRUCTION (DeathChain and After All) The 14th Of November 2005 Nosturi, Helsinki Finland
Pics and review by Arto Lehtinen
What a real old school metal line up indeed, featuring the legends of two separate metal genres namely Destruction and Candlemass. Frankly it was utterly amazing to have that kind of line up booked here in Finland even for two gigs. But once again some unexpected problems came out of the blue due to the gods of weather.

The Central Park Of Kaisaniemi ? Helsinki ? Finland 15th ? 17th of July 2005
Pics and reviews by Metal-Rules.com team Finland
What happens in the middle of July in the central park of the summer city of Helsinki every year? Well, what a easy question, the annual Tuska Open Air Metal festival takes place every year at that time. It pulls in over 33.000 metal hearts of all ages and all kinds of persons to spend an unforgettable metallic feast in the heart of Helsinki. As it is said The Gods made heavy metal which has turned out be nothing but right in every aspect as the weather was extremely warm and hot during the whole weekend apart from a few darker clouds having gathered around the area when Dimmu Borgir stepped on the stage and in general the atmosphere was peaceful and bigger problems managed to be avoided, thanks to the common metal spirit of the Finnish die hard metal freaks.
The bill of 2005 didn?t offer any offer so-called any big selling names like Nightwish being one of the headlining acts at Tuska last year, but instead a variety of different metal genres were at present ranging from a hyper-blasting grindcore to a more melancholic Finnish mainstream rock. Having a large range of metal proves Tuska is not limited to one certain metal category as everyone had something to feel, taste and see during the three long days.
The Tuska Open Air festival has reached and gained a lot of positive attention amongst the metal people around the world. There were people having arrived from Russia, Estonia, Sweden, all around Europe and even from some Far East countries. Despite not having a big name, the metal festival was totally sold out and even a few hundred leftover tickets for Friday were sold after all.
As usual it has turned out to be an annual mandatory tradition for having an article of the Tuska festival in Metal-Rules.Com, therefore the Finnish Metal-Rules.Com pain squad spent the whole weekend testifying several acts in action and tried to feel the spirit of Heavy Metal and enjoy the pleasure of the flesh as well during the three insane long days in the beautiful central park of Kaisaniemi and in the heart of Helsinki with several friends as well as everlasting enemies. Enjoy?
