ALICE COOPER BAND – Nita Strauss and Chuck Garric

October 7th, 2015

There is no doubt that Alice Cooper is one of the biggest and most legendary rock stars of our time. The man’s career has lasted more than four decades and there is no end in sight. Originally, Alice Cooper was a band that consisted of Cooper, bassist Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith,  drummer and guitarists Michael Bruce and Glen Buxton (RIP). In 1975, before the release of WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE, he scattered the band and continued as a solo artist with the same name. To this day he still follows this path. There have been a large number of fine musicians who have played in the band Alice Cooper. Names such as Reb Beach, Eric Singer, Kip Winger, Al Pitrelli, and Jimmy Degrasso, are all well-known world-class artists who have either created the early career of the Alice Cooper band or have played there at some point. Today, the Alice Cooper band consists of a drummer Glen Sobel, bassist Chuck Garric, and a trio of guitarists – Ryan Roxie, Tommy Henriksen, and Nita Strauss (she joined Alice’s band a year ago). I met a good-humored Strauss and Garrick after the gig in Helsinki in June and here is a summary of what was recorded on tape … Read on!

In 2011 he performed and co-wrote 3 songs on Alice Cooper’s WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE with his former Alice Cooper Group band mates Neal Smith and Michael Bruce. Later on that same year, the Alice Cooper Group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Currently Dunaway plays with the band Blue Coupe and he’s releasing a book titled SNAKES! GUILLOTINES ELECTRIC CHAIRS! on June 9th . I met the good-humored Dennis in New York and we talked about the book, Blue Coupe, and also the good old days.

RICHIE SCARLET – Solo artist, ex-Ace Frehley band, Sebastian Bach, Mountain, etc.

August 7th, 2013
Richie Scarlet

Richie Scarlet, nicknamed ”The Emperor of Rock ’n Roll”, is multi-talented musician and producer from New York. The man started his career back in the late 70’s but he’s best known from his long and successful collaboration with former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley. Scarlet has also worked with such names as Sebastian Bach, Mountain, and he’s released several solo albums, including the latest I PLEAD THE FIFTH which came out earlier this year.  Scarlet came to Finland in early June with his lovely wife Joann because he was one of the special quests for annual KISS Expo in Helsinki. Later on in the evening Scarlet also performed with Finnish Ace Frehley tribute band Frehley’s Vomit. I met a little tired but very talkative Scarlet  the next morning at the hotel and here’s what I got caught on the tape. Read on!
