Blind Guardian are easily one of my favorite bands thanks to their complex symphonic/power/thrash/folk mixture, imagery, lyrics, storytelling etc. They have it all. Vocalist Hansi Kürsch has lead the band from the beginning in the late 80’s. Hansi spoke with us about the band’s latest best of entitled MEMORIES OF A TIME TO COME, an update on what the band is doing, and where the band is heading, along with a couple of quick questions on other things that fans will be interested in. Enjoy!
ICED EARTH “Dystopia” European tour wrapped on December 15th in Nicosia, Cyprus.
“A special THANK YOU to all of our fans in Europe who keep the torch burning for Iced Earth…who showed up at our shows (sometimes in spite of having to travel a great distance to be there)… and were so kind to us along the way. It was a fantastic tour, with last night’s capacity crowd at the Pavilion in Cyprus the icing on the cake. What an amazing audience! It was the perfect way to end the European leg of the 2011-2012 World Dystopia Tour.
Much love to all of our fans in Europe. We’ll be back!”
Iced Earth uploaded Dystopia webisode #5 featuring BLIND GUARDIAN frontman Hansi Kürsch and discussion on the future of DEMONS & WIZARDS:
To me, Iced Earth are like the saviors of American METAL. They, and a small but growing handful of bands from the US, are playing what I consider to be REAL METAL. The latest piece of excitement for all Iced Earth and Blind Guardian fans is the much hyped (and deservedly so) collaboration of Jon Schaffer and Hansi Kursch called Demons & Wizards. I was given the opportunity to talk to Jon about this band and about what’s in store for us with regards to Iced Earth.
