Darkness came to London for one night, when satanic death metal band Deicide arrived. Peddling their anti-Christian message, the Underworld finally lived up to its name, as it became the stage for Benton’s satanic sermon.

Deicide live at The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PA, November 7, 2012

December 8th, 2012

Deicide

The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PA

Review and pics by InfamousButcher

For 25 years, Deicide has been blasting their brand of satanic death metal, crucifying audiences worldwide! My first exposure to these madmen from Tampa, Florida was in 1992 when LEGION came out. A good friend of mine (David Davis) was a huge fan of Decide and he quickly turned me on to their brand of blasphemous, scourge you to death with a cat o nine tales death metal! 2011’s highly acclaimed brutal release TO HELL WITH GOD proved that Glen Benton (bass, vocals), Steve Asheim (drums), and Jack Owen (guitar) can put a new twist on the classic Deicide sound but still keep it as savage as ever! This US tour is the latest leg supporting this killer album.

DEICIDE Announce “The God Is Dead – To Hell With God” Headlining Tour; Complete Work On The Much Anticipated New Album To Hell With God

September 29th, 2010
DEICIDE Announce "The God Is Dead - To Hell With God" Headlining Tour

DEICIDE Announce "The God Is Dead - To Hell With God" Headlining Tour

Twenty years ago, an underground cult movement surfaced in Tampa, Florida that revolutionized the metal world. The pioneers of this burgeoning scene, DEICIDE, are still striking fear into hearts of the masses to this day. As the world eagerly anticipates their new full-length slab of blasphemy, To Hell With God, the group prepares to embark on a massive North American headlining run appropriately titled “God Is Dead – To Hell With God Tour.” The Bloody-Disgusting sponsored trek, which kicks off on Feb. 15th also features Belphegor, Blackguard, Neuraxis and Pathology. To Hell With God was produced by the renowned Mark Lewis and is set for an early 2011 release.

Tickets for the tour will be available starting today (Sept. 22nd) via an exclusive internet presale on www.enterthevault.com . VIP tickets will also be available and include early entry and a pre-show meet & greet with DEICIDE. All shows will then go on sale through normal ticketing systems on October 14th, 2010. Either see below or visit Enter The Vault to view the entire tour itinerary.

DEICIDE are one of the founding fathers of death metal and easily one of the most influential and controversial bands ever. With a relentlessly brutal sound and uncompromisingly blasphemous lyrics, DEICIDE helped set the standards for extreme metal and have maintained those standards ever since.

DEICIDE stormed ahead into the future, releasing numerous albums engulfed by waves of controversy, as their popularity continued to ferment within the scene. However, it was the 2006 release The Stench of Redemption that put the band back on the map as the leaders of the genre. This was their first album to showcase the more melodic leads of guitarists Owen and Santolla which only added to their riotous and enigmatic success. DEICIDE looks forward to taking things to the next level in 2011, promising to deliver the album of their already heralded career.

ORDER OF ENNEAD – Drummer Steve Asheim

September 28th, 2008

Order of Ennead - logo.jpg

Steve Asheim – Drummer of Order of Ennead and Deicide

Interview by Luxi Lahtinen

Steve Asheim, the drummer of Deicide, is on his new exciting journey under Order of Ennead´s name – having also Kevin Quirion (Council Of The Fallen) on vocals and guitars, Scott Patrick (Resurrection) on bass and a young rookie named John Li taking care of lead guitars.

Order of Ennead´s blend of black- and death metal is somewhat extraordinary: Kevin´s snarling and vicious vocals and crushing guitar riffs, Steve´s thunderous and pounding drums of doom attacks and beautiful piano interludes, Scott well-hitting bass rolls and John´s truly phenomenal lead work – all these together, throw its listeners into an unforgettable and violent musical journey where one necessarily doesn´t want to return back from once paying a visit there. Order of Ennead certainly deliver their goods more than well on their self-titled debut that is supposed to be released by October 13th 2008 through Earache Records.

Steve Asheim reveals more accurate details to Metal-Rules.com about the band – how they got together, what kind of a process it was for them to get their debut album recorded, touring plans – and so forth. Now keep on reading – and praise the Lord Satan!
