CRADLE OF FILTH, NUCLEAR BLAST LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE “MIDNIGHT IN THE LABYRINTH” PACKAGE DEAL

April 15th, 2012

Strictly limited edition two-disc set available this month on Nuclear Blast Records

ENGLAND – British extreme heavy metal act, Cradle Of Filth, recently announced its latest inspired work, Midnight In The Labyrinth, a two-disc set traversing an ethereal cinematic landscape of classical and symphonic darkness. This strictly limited edition release of delectable magic will contain narrated nightmares, courtesy of Dani Filth, plus additional vocals from Sarah Jezebel Deva, on disc one. Disc two will feature purely orchestral and symphonic recordings.
Midnight In The Labyrinth will be available to coincide with Record Store Day on April 21st via Nuclear Blast Records, however the band and label have launched an exclusive pre-order bundle package: http://bit.ly/mitlnbusa featuring a commemorative, limited-edition t-shirt and 2-CD digibook.

Taking the most requested tracks from the first four official releases, Cradle Of Filth has fulfilled audience desire by creating an album based on the most popular older tracks, but one that is delivered orchestrally to create a rich, haunting sonic landscape in the vein of soundtrack composers such as Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer.
The collection will include 10 songs spanning 78-minutes (including the addition of a thirteen-minute exclusive aural séance on CD1), with reworked COF classics like “Funeral In Carpathia” and “The Twisted Nails Of Faith,” as well as “Summer Dying Fast,” which was showcased on last year’s ‘Evermore Darkly…’ EP.
Stay tuned for more information on Cradle Of Filth and Midnight In The Labyrinth.

Cradle of Filth - “EVERMORE DARKLY…”

Evermore Darkly a new CD & DVD set from Cradle of Filth, the UK’s premier extreme metal antagonists, is released next week on Peaceville Records (October 24th). A follow-on from last year’s triumphant Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa album,Evermore Darkly features new tracks and rarities, a lengthy on-the-road documentary and ten songs filmed live at this year’s Graspop metal meet, as well as the video for Lilith Immaculate.

Paul Allender from the band will be talking to fans about Evermore Darkly in a special webchat that will take place at 8pm (UK) today (Wednesday 19th October). The chat will stream on the Peaceville Records Livestream channel (www.livestream.com/peaceville) and fans will be able to submit questions using their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

A new clip from the documentary is now streaming at www.peaceville.com/cradleoffilth. Two other clips, a trailer and audio samples from the album are also on the mini-site.

PAUL ALLENDER MOVING FORWARD WITH VOMITORIUM; Art project featured in Expose 5, Revolution Art and more

June 9th, 2011

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Paul Allender, world-renowned guitarist for the British extreme metal act Cradle Of Filth, has updated his online store with the first t-shirt design from his graphic design company Vomitorium. The “Cthulhu” is available as a men’s t-shirt or women’s tank top at: http://www.ed-stone.com/store/allendervomitorium. The first 100 Vomitorium customers will receive a signed “Cthulhu Rising” glossy print.

“I’ve always been interested in the darker side of art,” said Allender. “I first got involved in art when I was a kid. My dad taught me how to oil paint, and from then on I was kind of hooked. I did a lot of watercolors, and when I started my secondary school, airbrushing took over. I did a lot of album covers for friends, leather jackets, etc., and a couple of car hoods. From there I went into Photoshop and the digital realm.”

Allender’s art has already been featured in such graphic design publications as Expose 5 and Revolution Art, and he will be a featured artist at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival and CthulhuCon in Los Angeles this September.

Head over to: http://www.paulallender.co.uk/ or: http://www.facebook.com/vomitoriumltd for more info on Paul Allender and Vomitorium.

Aside from pursuing his art career, Allender has been hard at work advancing his musical career. Recently he has been collaborating with close friend DJ Unwind on a project of hauntingly hypnotic electronic/rock hybrid compositions. The first track “Indigo” can be streamed online at: http://djunwind.bandcamp.com/track/indigo-feat-paul-allender-timotha-lanae.

Stay tuned for more information.

Interview With Paul Allender Of Cradle Of Filth

April 4th, 2011

The Daily Rock’s (http://www.thedailyrock.com) Hank Pearl interviews Paul Allender of British Extreme Metal group CRADLE OF FILTH before a performance at the House of Blues Chicago.

After touching base on the state of the tour and the increasingly gruesome pits at the shows, Allender discusses in depth his extensive martial arts conditioning, his history of training British police in hand-to-hand combat, etc., and how it all has come to influence his mind and method of creating some of CRADLE OF FILTH‘s musical stylings.

Cradle of Filth and “The Creatures of the Black Abyss” tour

March 22nd, 2011

Cradle of Filth and “The Creatures of the Black Abyss” tour

Boots of Filth

Best Buy Theater – New York, NY
March 3rd, 2011

Review and pictures by Kyle Moore, the Metal Magnus

My history with Cradle of Filth is a lengthy one. They’ve treated me both wonderfully and terribly, depending on the album or concert in question. I’m a huge fan of their earlier work, up til around DAMNATION AND A DAY. Then NYMPHETAMINE happened, and I completely checked out of the abyss that had become Dani Filth’s lackluster creative mind. Call me boring, but I am one of those fans who wants to hear nothing but tracks from the first half of Cradle’s career in a concert setting, leaving new material completely behind. My pickiness aside, Cradle can put on a great live show when they want – something that doesn’t always happen. The second time I ever saw them live, some six years ago, they were outright terrible. In addition to being completely upstaged by openers Arch-Enemy, they looked bored, flaccid, and flat-out lame. Thankfully they had improved tremendously when I saw them in early ’09.

Whether through their wildly elaborate and theatrical live shows (which have incorporated giant lumbering puppets, fire-breathing dancers, freaks and stilt-walkers), provocative merchandise (including the now legendary ‘Jesus Is A C***’ t-shirt), breathtaking artwork, or the weighty subject matter of their albums (their last told the story of a French Lord who fought alongside Joan Of Arc before embarking on a horrific killing spree), Cradle Of Filth is a band whose uncompromising stance has been rewarded with legions of fans around the world, making them the most successful British heavy metal band since Iron Maiden.

Cradle Of Filth – Dani Filth answers fans questions plus Paul Allender chats live online

December 16th, 2010
Cradle of Filth reveals artwork for 'Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa'

Cradle of Filth - 'Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa'

Following the release of their new album Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, Cradle Of Filth are currently on tour in South America playing dates in Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina and Brazil. Before they set off Dani Filth was filmed answering some of the questions that were sent in by fans to Peaceville last month. The answers were split into two parts and both are now available on the album’s mini-site.

In addition to this Paul Allender from the band will be available for another live web chat at 8pm (UK time) on 23rd December after they return from the tour. The band are back on tour in the New Year with dates in El Salvador and Mexico followed by a full tour of the US and Canada (full details here).

The live web chat with Paul will stream on the Peaceville Records Livestream channel (www.livestream.com/peaceville) and fans will be able to submit questions using their Facebook and Twitter accounts.

This is the second in a series of chats that Paul will be participating in. The first, which took place last month, lasted for almost two hours and topics of conversation included everything from the band’s plans, the album’s recording process and the guitar he uses to his favourite movies, other bands he admires and his tattoos.

Metal Hammer have described Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa as:

“Yet another sumptuous and spectacular eruption of gothic melodrama, perverted sonic schlock and balls-out extreme metal bombast… a dazzling and dastardly display of destructive devilry.”

And Rocksound have stated that the album has:

“a masterful control over the multi-faceted Cradle of Filth sound; brutal vocal gymnastics, skull-rattling double-kicks, symphonic flourishes, dramatic narrative and balls-out axe-slinging all make their presence known, but in a manner which routinely serves to bolster the coherency of the greater whole…this fucking slays.” 9/10

Cradle Of Filth – statement from Dani Filth about cancelled gig in Ecuador

December 9th, 2010
NUCLEAR BLAST TO RELEASE NEW CRADLE OF FILTH ALBUM IN NORTH AMERICA

LORD DANI FILTH

Unfortunately Cradle Of Filth have had to cancel the first date of their South American tour which was due to take place in Ecuador on Friday night. Dani Filth has made this statement about the cancellation:

Everyone involved with the band, and especially the band themselves are deeply distressed over the cancellation of our show in Ecuador this Friday. This is the second time we have had to pull out of a concert in Ecuador (the last cancellation being due to airport closure as we were circling the runway!).

Unfortunately this time has been due to several reasons, including severe weather conditions stranding half the band’s crew, deep ‘contractual’ problems, plus flight-booking f**k-ups. It is a regrettable situation to be in, but unfortunately an impossible one at this particular time to rectify.

Our sincere apologies go out to all the fans we have disappointed by this very well thought out decision, the band feeling even worse about it as we are all stuck in cold, redundant limbo for two days.

As for the rest of our South American tour, all other shows are definitely on, the first being on the twelfth at the Teatro Metropol, in Bogotá, Colombia, this very Sunday. We can’t wait, though once again, I’d like to apologise to all our loyal, disappointed fans in Ecuador. We are so pissed off that this has had to happen.

All the very best,

A deeply annoyed Dani Filth.

Fans who had bought tickets for the gig should contact the promoter to receive a refund.

Cradle Of Filth – new video of Dani answering fans questions now online plus fans to choose next single

December 1st, 2010

Cradle of Filth reveals artwork for 'Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa'

Cradle of Filth - 'Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa'

Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, the new album from Cradle Of Filth was released last month on the band’s own AbraCadaver imprint through Peaceville Records.

Part of the reason that the band decided to release the album through their own imprint was that they wanted to have more direct control over the artistic process. Dani has said that part of the reason for switching labels was the desire to be a ‘bigger fish in a smaller more creative pond and we’ve been able to choose who we want for booking press and stuff. We’ve got the best of both worlds really.’

This new found freedom has also allowed them to connect directly with their legions of devoted fans around the world and Dani has taken time out of the gruelling rehearsal schedule for their forthcoming South American tour to answer some of the questions that were sent in by fans to Peaceville last month. A video of him answering the first batch is now on the album’s mini-site and a second video will be added next week.

In addition the band have now decided to let the fans choose which track from the album they should next make a video for.

Dani explains ‘we are really happy with the way that the first video, for Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned), but couldn’t decide which track would best so we thought we’d let the fans decide as we trust their judgement totally...’

A poll has been set up on www.peaceville.com/cradleoffilth which lists all the tracks from the album. The final choice will be made at the end of this year with the new video being filmed in January.

The fans’ edition of the album (box set with 2CD + DVD, hard-back book and much more), plus the vinyl and 2CD special editions of the album, are now available to order from the band’s web store.

An album t-shirt is also available for £14.99.

Cradle Of Filth announces February 2011 headlining North American tour

ENGLAND – A special VIP ticket package is now on sale for Cradle Of Filth’s first US tour since 2009, a headlining run on the “FEARnet and Decibel Presents: Creatures From The Black Abyss Tour”.  The VIP ticket package is available exclusively through Artist Arena at: http://tixx1.artistarena.com/cradleoffilth/, and includes one general admission ticket, a meet-and-greet with the band, a signed Cradle Of Filth poster, and a commemorative VIP laminate.  VIP tickets are limited, so fans are encouraged to take advantage of this rare opportunity before it’s too late.

The “FEARnet and Decibel Presents: Creatures From The Black Abyss Tour” will kick off in Houston on February 1st. Nachtmystium, Turisas, and Daniel Lioneye will round out the tour’s impressive package on Cradle Of Filth’s long-awaited return to North American shores. General admission tickets are on sale through all major ticket retailers.

Cradle Of Filth is gearing up to hit the road in support of their recently released ninth studio album, Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, which hit stores on November 9th on Nuclear Blast Records.

The sinister concept album about Adam’s first wife, the lavish demoness Lilith, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #99, selling nearly 6,000 copies in its first week. The record also debuted at #10 on the Independent chart and #7 on Hard Music.
Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa is available in a multitude of formats and versions, and can be purchased online through the Nuclear Blast webstore at: http://store.nuclearblastusa.com/Artist/Cradle_Of_Filth/10533 or on iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/darkly-darkly-venus-aversa/id398728607.  An iTunes exclusive limited edition version, featuring bonus tracks and artwork, can be downloaded at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/darkly-darkly-venus-aversa/id398857303, while special Cradle Of Filth bundle packs, including a CD/t-shirt combo, a deluxe 2CD Digipak/t-shirt combo, and an LP/t-shirt combo, are available exclusively through the Nuclear Blast webstore.  A special 2LP version is also now available.

The track list for Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa is…

1.) The Cult Of Venus Aversa

2.) One Foul Step From The Abyss

3.) The Nun With The Astral Habit

4.) Retreat Of The Sacred Heart

5.) The Persecution Song

6.) Deceiving Eyes

7.) Lilith Immaculate

8.) The Spawn Of Love And War

9.) Harlot On A Pedestal

10.) Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)

11.) Beyond Eleventh Hour

The Grammy nominated, Cradle Of Filth, continues to shock, excite, disgust, and inspire in equal measures. A loyal stalwart to the satanic horror ethos, Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa was recorded at Monkey Puzzle Studios, near Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk, England, and is the follow-up to 2008’s Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder. Artwork comes courtesy of Natalie Shau.

Whether through their wildly elaborate & theatrical live shows (which incorporate giant lumbering puppets, fire-breathing dancers, freaks and stilt-walkers), provocative merchandise (including the now legendary ‘Jesus Is A Cunt’ t-shirt), breathtaking artwork, or the weighty subject matter of their albums (their last told the story of a French Lord who fought alongside Joan Of Arc before embarking on a horrific killing spree), Cradle Of Filth is a band whose uncompromising stance has been rewarded with legions of fans around the world, making them the most successful British heavy metal band since Iron Maiden.

Be sure to check out the Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa mini-site at: http://www.peaceville.com/cradleoffilth for exclusive Cradle Of Filth media, including song previews, video blogs, an iPhone app, and more.
