Recorded in eight weeks at both Springvale and Grindstone studios (where it was also mixed by Scott Atkins) in Suffolk, UK, The Manticore and Other Horrors is a testament to the longevity of The ‘Filth, as not only does it reek of Cradle’s (feared or revered) brand of delicious metal vamperotica, but this thoroughly modern album places the band firmly in fresh killing fields anew.
The Manticore and Other Horrors itself possesses an altogether new atmosphere for the band, incorporating a heavier, faster NWOBBM punk vibe that is both current and cruel, blended with ornate orchestration and the quirky immediateness of 2000′s Midian opus.
The album’s title can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on monsters – personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few.
Artwork for the release comes courtesy of Matthew Vickerstaff of Darkwaveart.
Commented front-man, Dani Filth, “This is our 10th commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!”

10th studio album due out October 30th on Nuclear Blast Records
Cradle of Filth
ENGLAND – UK extreme metal act, Cradle of Filth, has announced an October 30th North American release date for the band’s 10th studio album, The Manticore & Other Horrors, out just in time for Halloween courtesy of Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented the band’s infamous front man, Dani Filth, “This is our 10th commandment in metal. We have diversified and kept alive the spirit of this band and breathed it into something that I can proudly say, slays like an absolute motherf**ker. The Manticore is coming… Long live the filth!”

The album’s title can be likened to a bestiary, a collection of stories on monsters – personal demons, Chimeras, literary fiends and world-enslaving entities to blame but a few. “Manticore,” the ravening title track, is a song about a beautiful mythological horror that comes to be feared as the disfigurehead of foreign occupation in the Indian provinces.
The songs “Illicitus” and “Pallid Reflection”bare the sweet ingredients of vampirism and lycanthropy; the wicked “For Your Vulgar Delectation”and “Frost On Her Pillow” are woven perversely into grim fairy tales, whilst classic, monumental tracks like “The Abhorrent and Siding With The Titans”both extol tentacular Lovecraftian values.
Cradle of Filth will spread its darkness upon European lands with a tour throughout November and December.

Evermore Darkly a new CD & DVD set from Cradle of Filth, the UK’s premier extreme metal antagonists, is released next week on Peaceville Records (October 24th). A follow-on from last year’s triumphant Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa album,Evermore Darkly features new tracks and rarities, a lengthy on-the-road documentary and ten songs filmed live at this year’s Graspop metal meet, as well as the video for Lilith Immaculate.
Paul Allender from the band will be talking to fans about Evermore Darkly in a special webchat that will take place at 8pm (UK) today (Wednesday 19th October). The chat will stream on the Peaceville Records Livestream channel (www.livestream.com/peaceville) and fans will be able to submit questions using their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The CD features brand new musical beast Thank Your Lucky Stars, a special remix of Forgive Me Father, courtesy of Rob C from Anthrax, an extended rendition of Lilith Immaculate, as well as tempered demo versions of three Darkly, Darkly…songs. The mini-album closes with a special taster from Cradle of Filth’s impending orchestral project, in the form of a haunting, classic reworking of fan-favourite, Summer Dying Fast.
The Evermore Darkly DVD contains footage from Summer 2011, when Cradle of Filth embarked on a rapid spat of tours, accompanied by two eager filmmakers. The resulting documentary, You Can’t Polish A Turd, But You Can Roll It In Glitter, combined with performance and interview footage culminates in a forty five minute film of the not so glamorous reality of life in a touring band at work and play, as they trawl their way across Europe over eight performances. The DVD includes an interview with ghoul-guide Dani Filth, interspersed and peppered with live footage and backstage shenanigans, culminating in the entire hour long set from this year’s highly anticipated Graspop festival appearance.
Dani states, ‘this is a much-loved musical stop-gap between albums, a pleasure treasure trove of wild and wicked wonders primed especially for fans. Something for them to sink their teeth into this Autumn as the Cradle invasion fleet is primed for future contagion…’

CRADLE OF FILTH POSTS SECOND CLIP FROM UPCOMING “EVERMORE DARKLY…” DVD “Evermore Darkly…” out October 18th on Nuclear Blast Records
ENGLAND – The UK’s premier extreme metal antagonist, Cradle Of Filth, has posted a new clip from the DVD portion of the band’s upcoming CD/DVD release, Evermore Darkly… at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNmYc9VPL1E. Evermore Darkly… the follow-on to last year’s triumphant, Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, will hit stores in North America on October 18th via Nuclear Blast Records. The mini-album can be pre-ordered as a CD or CD/t-shirt bundle through the Nuclear Blast webstore at: http://store.nuclearblastusa.com/Artist/Cradle_Of_Filth/10533, while the single, “Lilith Immaculate,” is currently available for digital download through iTunes at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lilith-immaculate-bonus-version/id467273405.
Evermore Darkly… will feature the brand new musical beast, “Thank Your Lucky Stars,” a special remix of “Forgive Me Father,” courtesy of Rob C. from Anthrax, an extended rendition of “Lilith Immaculate,” as well as tempered demo versions of three Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa songs. The CD closes with a special taster from Cradle Of Filth’s impending orchestral project, in the form of a haunting, classic reworking of fan-favorite, “Summer Dying Fast.” The Evermore Darkly… DVD contains footage from Summer 2011, when Cradle Of Filth embarked on a rapid spat of tours, accompanied by two eager filmmakers. The resulting documentary, ‘You Can’t Polish A Turd… But You Can Roll It In Glitter,’ combined with performance and interview footage, culminates in a forty five minute film of the not so glamorous reality of life in a touring band at work and play, as they trawl their way across Europe over eight performances. The DVD includes an interview with ghoul-guide, Dani Filth, interspersed and peppered with live footage and backstage shenanigans, culminating in the entire hour long set from this year’s highly anticipated Graspop festival appearance. Evermore Darkly… artwork comes courtesy of Natalie Shau, whom also contributed the cover art for Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa.
The track list for Evermore Darkly… is… 1. Transmission From Hell
2. Thank Your Lucky Scars
