NONEXIST Cover of CORONER’s “Masked Jackal” and Free Extensive Album Art Now Available

Pivotal Rockordings have made the NONEXIST cover of CORONER‘s “Masked Jackal” and free extensive artwork to accompany the band’s latest album From My Cold Dead Hands available at A free cover of MEGADETH‘s “In My Darkest Hour” and NONEXIST‘s first single “Fire At Will” are also available at the same link with more free covers to be made available in the coming weeks through various media outlets and social media sites. The free artwork has been made available to accompany the band’s latest digital-only release and features 20 full pages of custom album art as well as front and back covers, all available in multiple formats (JPG,PDF,PSD) for fans to do with as they see fit – print, wallpaper, fanart, etc. All artwork was conceptualized and created by Sofia Bennrup and Johan Reinholdz specifically for this album and its songs.

The band features former ARCH ENEMY and current HEARSE vocalist Johan Liiva and ANDROMEDA/SKYFIRE guitarist Johan Reinholdz. NONEXIST has released its first new full-length album in 10 years, From My Cold Dead Hands, on November 2nd digitally via Pivotal Rockordings. NONEXIST will make its first live appearance at Scorched Tundra Festival, set to take place December 28th at Sticky Fingers in Sweden, playing alongside ZOMBIEKRIG, SWITCH OPENS, NO HAWAII and label mates ELDRIMNER. NONEXIST‘s debut full-length record Deus Deceptor was released in 2002 via Century Media/New Hawen Records and the lineup at the time included Johan Liiva, Johan Reinholdz, and DEFLESHED/DARK FUNERAL drummer Matte Modin. Deus Deceptor was produced by Tommy Tägtgren and Johan Reinholdz at Abyss Studios and featured a musical direction described as a cross between early ARCH ENEMY and CARCASS (circa Heartwork).

Jalometalli 2012 – Oulu Finland

The mighty Jalometalli Open Air Metal festival strikes back once again with a killer line-up to maintain its metallic lofty status on the Finnish festival map. The festival is known for relying on an old school metal approach offering traditional metal to extreme metal with classic metal to the extreme black metal. The festival also paid attention to young rising and local bands who played the small third stage. That was unique and thankfully most of the bands sounded killer. The Metal Rules team hit the grounds of Oulu to see several absolutely killer bands. The whole Jalometalli as a festival is so unique and one of kind that anyone reading this article should take a glance at the offering of the festival. Here is a brief article on the fest.

CORONER – Marky Edelmann (aka. Marquis Marky)

When talking about Swiss metal, it is more than common Celtic Frost pops up for obvious reasons. Besides Celtic Frost, Coroner is another important metal name coming out of Switzerland. The legendary three-piece unleashed five albums in a row before calling it quits. Therefore, the return of Coroner was truly anticipated amongst metal fans. The Swiss thrashers had been invited to headline the Afterburner event at the Roadburn festival. Before Coroner hit the stage, we had the tremendous opportunity of talking to the drummer Marky Edelmann aka Marquies Marky about the past, the present and the future.
