Interview by Robert Cavuoto

Beasto Blanco, the band, fronted by long time Alice Cooper bassist Chuck Garric, will be releasing their first live CD entitled, Live From Berlin on January 19, 2018, via Rat Pak Records. Live From Berlin was recorded at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany during the 2016 sold-out Böhse Onkelz tour. This CD features songs from both of their studio CDs Live Fast Die Loud and their 2016 self-titled sophomore release Beasto Blanco.

Chuck and his bandmates Chris Latham [guitar], Jan Le Grow [bass], Tim Husung [drums] and Calico Cooper [vocals] deliver a superb performance on this CD capturing the passion, energy, and theatrics of their live show. The CD is rounded out with a haunting live version of Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein.” The album is currently available for pre-order via Rat Pak CDs website.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Chuck for the new CD. He provides details on its creation during their 2016 arena tour and what the future holds for Beasto Blanco.

Chuck Garric is most notably known as Alice Cooper’s bassist, but what people are starting to find out is that he is also fronting and playing guitar in his own band – Beasto Blanco. On November 25th he and his bandmates; Chris Latham [guitar], Jan Le Grow [bass], Tim Husung [drums] and Calico Cooper [vocals] will be releasing their self-titled CD via Rat Pak CDs. It’s the follow up to their 2013 release; Live Fast Die Loud.

Beasto Blanco is a force not to be reckoned with and destine to make an impact on the music industry.  Each song is a well crafted story delivered in a unique way to intrigue the mind and create thematic visuals. Songs that are a pummeling mix of energy and the macabre. Their first single is a cover of Alice Cooper’s “Feed My Frankenstein” with a creepy and erotic spin. The album is currently available for pre-order via Rat Pak CDs website at: http://smarturl.it/BeastoBlanco16.

I spoke with Chuck about their new release and how the band is evolving, growing, and finding their own identity.

NITA STRAUSS AND CHUCK GARRIC

INTERVIEW AND PHOTOS BY MARKO SYRJALA

There is no doubt that Alice Cooper is one of the biggest and most legendary rock stars of our time. The man’s career has lasted more than four decades and there is no end in sight. Originally, Alice Cooper was a band that consisted of Cooper, bassist Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith,  drummer and guitarists Michael Bruce and Glen Buxton (RIP). In 1975, before the release of WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE, he scattered the band and continued as a solo artist with the same name. To this day he still follows this path. There have been a large number of fine musicians who have played in the band Alice Cooper. Names such as Reb Beach, Eric Singer, Kip Winger, Al Pitrelli, and Jimmy Degrasso, are all well-known world-class artists who have either created the early career of the Alice Cooper band or have played there at some point. Today, the Alice Cooper band consists of a drummer Glen Sobel, bassist Chuck Garric, and a trio of guitarists – Ryan Roxie, Tommy Henriksen, and Nita Strauss (she joined Alice’s band a year ago). I met a good-humored Strauss and Garrick after the gig in Helsinki in June and here is a summary of what was recorded on tape … Read on!
