A TRIBUTE TO DEEP PURPLE’S MACHINE HEAD LANDS SEPTEMBER 25

August 16th, 2012

BE PREPARED TO GET RE-MACHINED

Re-machined - A TRIBUTE TO DEEP PURPLE’S MACHINE HEAD

Re-machined – A TRIBUTE TO DEEP PURPLE’S MACHINE HEAD

Eagle Records is delighted to announce the release of Re-Machined – A Tribute To Deep Purple’s Machine Head album on September 25 [MSRP $13.99 for CD, digital TBA].

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of this landmark album and in recognition of the influence of the band, and of Machine Head in particular. Some of rock music’s biggest names have each contributed a version of their favorite track on the album to create Re-Machined – A Tribute To Deep Purple’s Machine Head.

Re-Machined features specially recorded tracks from Jimmy Barnes & Joe Bonamassa, Black Label Society, Chickenfoot, former Deep Purple Mk III member Glenn Hughes with Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Iron Maiden, the “supergroup” Kings Of Chaos (featuring Joe Elliott, Steve Stevens, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum), Metallica, Carlos Santana & Jacoby Shaddix and Steve Vai.

There are two wildly differing versions of the album’s most famous track “Smoke On The Water”, one from guitar hero Carlos Santana with vocals by Jacoby Shaddix and one from alternative rockers Flaming Lips, and Metallica have contributed their own special take on “When A Blind Man Cries”, a track recorded at the “Machine Head” sessions but originally released as the B-side to “Never Before”.

Iron Maiden’s “Space Truckin’” cover was actually recorded back in 2006. Lead singer Bruce Dickinson explains, “Initially we didn’t think we’d be able to contribute anything due to our touring commitments. Then we remembered ‘Space Truckin’ which we’d recorded as a single B-side during our A Matter Of Life And Death album session, but never used. However now, thanks to Kevin Shirley’s remixing skills, we’re able to include it on Re-Machined

Initially released as a limited edition Classic Rock “fanpack” on September 3, this is a truly unique release that will appeal to rock fans everywhere.

February 21st, 2012

CHICKENFOOT, the super group featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Kenny Aronoff, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and frontman Sammy Hagar have announced A DIFFERENT DEVIL TOUR  in continued support of their newest record “Chickenfoot III”  (eOne Music/earMUSIC/Edel). The Foot are road tested and ready to roll and can’t wait to play the new songs for the fans!says front man Sammy Hagar. The tour will kick off May 4th in Lake Tahoe, NV and BLACK STONE CHERRY has been tapped to support.

The band’s second hit single, “Different Devil” has hit #13 with a bullet on the Mediabase Mainstream Rock Chart and #5 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart.  This will be the bands first full US run since 2009.

In November CHICKENFOOT completed a sold out “Road Test Tour” that took them through San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago and New York with a stop for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

CHICKENFOOT released “Chickenfoot III” late last year to much critical praise, “It’s hard to hate big-boned butt rock from guys clearly making it because they still love the form,” says  ROLLING STONE.

BILLBOARD says, “It’s a rare case of a group that’s equal to – or perhaps even greater than – the sum of its parts…this is an album that really wins hearts with its granite thump’n’roll.” USA TODAY went as far to say that “Chickenfoot III” could be “the beginning of a riff-driven renaissance.” The band recently earned a GRAMMY nomination for the “Best Recording Package,” for the creative 3D design.

The first single, “Big Foot,” debuted at #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart holding the position for 11 weeks. “Chickenfoot III” debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 100 and follows the band’s 2009 debut album, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 100 and was certified gold for sales over 500,000 units by the Recording Industry Association of America.

CHICKENFOOT is also partnering with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity, for a second time to encourage fans to help alleviate some of the effects of the economy. In addition to ensuring a fair priced ticket, the band will make donations to a local food bank in each market and encourages fans to do the same. CHICKENFOOT SOARS AT MAINSTREAM RADIO WITH NEW SINGLE, “DIFFERENT DEVIL”

January 30th, 2012

CHICKENFOOT, the supergroup featuring guitarist Joe Satriani, drummer Chad Smith, former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and frontman Sammy Hagar have released their second radio single, “Different Devil.” In two weeks, the single is already at #17 with a bullet on the Mediabase Mainstream Rock Chart and #7 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart. For a recent reader’s poll by Ultimate Classic Rock Magazine, editors asked fans which single they preferred: Chickenfoot’s “Different Devil” or Van Halen’s newly released “Tattoo,” and an overwhelming 60% of readers preferred “Devil.”

The band, which recently earned a GRAMMY nomination for the “Best Recording Package,” for the creative 3D design of their recent “Chickenfoot III” (eOne Music/earMUSIC/Edel) album are wrapping up a successful European tour, with more U.S. dates to be announced soon.

CHICKENFOOT recently wrapped a sold out 2011 Road Test Tour that took them through San Francisco, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago and New York with a stop for a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In each city along the tour, Hagar made a donation to a local food bank in a special partnership with Feeding America to encourage fans to do the same to help fight hunger, an important message that he also intended to convey through the music video for “Three And A Half Letters (I Need A Job).”

The first single from “Chickenfoot III”, “Big Foot,” debuted at #1 on the Mediabase Classic Rock Chart holding the position for 11 weeks, earning over 1.85 million listeners, and the album received critical acclaim. “Chickenfoot III” features 10 tracks with so many moments of epiphany that one can barely take them all in on first listen. Colossal, stadium-shaking riffs abound on earth-movers such as “Alright, Alright,” “Last Temptation” and “Lighten Up.” Tradition meets innovation on the Nashville pop-tinged “Different Devil,” the Delta-blues flavored “Something Going Wrong” and the aching rock ballad “Come Closer.” “Chickenfoot III” debuted at #9 on the Billboard Top 100 and follows the band’s 2009 debut album, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 100 and was certified gold for sales over 500,000 units by the Recording Industry Association of America.

CHICKENFOOT is: Sammy Hagar (vocals), Joe Satriani (guitar), Michael Anthony (bass, backing vocals), Chad Smith (drums).
