Canadian heavy metal trio CAULDRON are due to kick off a European tour today – Wednesday, November 28th – in London, UK.
The tour starts with a string of headlining dates in the UK, before joining up with Dutch hard rockers VANDERBUYST on December 8th for more shows in continental Europe.

Canadian heavy metallers CAULDRON have revealed their new, permanent drummer as MYLES DECK.
MYLES spent much of his life living and playing in bands in Halifax, Nova Scotia, including blackened thrashers HELLACAUST, as well as fronting a Detroit-style punk rock outfit called MYLES DECK AND THE FUZZ. He replaces CAULDRON’s former drummer, CHRIS STEVE.
The drums for the band’s new album, TOMORROW’S LOST, were recorded by CHRIS RITES (CRYSTAL CASTLES).
CAULDRON bassist and vocalist JASON DECAY comments:
“Rather than just grab the next available drummer, we wanted to take our time this time and make sure we found the right guy, which we’re pleased to announce is Myles Deck. Myles moved halfway across the country from Moncton, New Brunswick, which shows his dedication. He’s also into a lot of the same bands as us and understand our vision and goals. He’s also tall so we won’t have to prop him up on a stool for band photos! We wish Chris Steve all the best with his new band Old James (heavy Skynyrd), and would like to thank Chris Rites for helping us out again with the new record.”
MYLES DECK adds:
“I was vacationing in Moncton, New Brunswick, catching some rays on the shore of the Petitcodiac when I got ‘the call’. I love the kind of music that makes you wanna bang your head or thrust your hips. I’d seen Cauldron a handful of times and they made me wanna do both. So I sold most of my belongings and moved up to Toronto to play drums for this great band. I’m absolutely chuffed to be playing with Cauldron and look forward to spending many gruelling hours in the van and studio together.”
TOMORROW’S LOST was recorded in Parkdale, Toronto with producer JAMESON ELLIOTT, who also recorded the band’s 2010 album, BURNING FORTUNE. The artwork for the album was created by TODD KOWALSKI (SACRIFICE, PROPAGANDHI).
Canadian heavy metal trio CAULDRON have confirmed a North American tour with PAUL DI’ANNO, which is scheduled to kick off in July.
CAULDRON will be joining the former IRON MAIDEN singer, along with ICARUS WITCH and WIDOW, for the extensive trek across the USA and Canada.

“The video is basically a concentrated day, or a final straw in the life of Cauldron. We based the concept around the lyrics of the song, which is a bit of an ongoing theme with Burning Fortune. We went for a bit of an edgy type of music video rather than the same old thing ’cause we figured we wouldn’t get played on TV anyway.
“It was directed by Kevin MacAllister who normally does videos for Lush Cosmetics. We got hooked up through a friend who used to work there and just went for it. Ian’s scene is actually shot at the Lush factory in Toronto…”

Fresh off a month long run with Eluveitie, Los Angeles’ Holy Grail will be teaming up with Canadian band Cauldron for a North American tour April 15th through May 12th. Holy Grail will close all U.S shows and Cauldron will close all Canadian dates. Local bands chosen by Holy Grail, Cauldron, and the tour’s promoters will fill out the bills in each market.
Holy Grail has been touring in support of their fall 2010 release, “Crisis in Utopia”, and has supported Exodus, Blind Guardian, and Eluveitie so far in the touring cycle. Prior to this tour, Holy Grail will be going to the UK for a co-headline tour with Roadrunner Records band Revoker.
Only assembled a few years ago, Holy Grail is already at the forefront of the new wave of metal that pays homage to such legends as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Dio. The band’s debut EP IMPROPER BURIAL (released in late 2009), featuring just two original tracks and two covers, earned Holy Grail significant press accolades including a 2-page feature in hometown paper LA Weekly, a spot on Decibel’s “25 Most Anticipated Releases Of 2010” list and inclusion on Metal Hammer’s “Guide To The Best In The Upcoming New Wave Of Trad Metal”. Holy Grail was also recognized with a nomination for Metal Hammer’s 2010 Golden God Awards in the “Best New Band’ category – quite an honor since they hadn’t even released a full-length album yet! Metal Hammer sums it up best: “With a killer name, awesome logo and a sound that is more metal than metal itself, Holy Grail are one of the most promising traditionally inclined metal bands to emerge from the US in the past decade…This is metal played with conviction and belief and you’re going to love it.”

Supporting Ryan Waste‘s (MUNICIPAL WASTE) traditional metal band, VOLTURE, CAULDRON will be playing new songs from their forthcoming album, BURNING FORTUNE and taking audiences in Philadelphia and New York back to a time when meaningful, melodic, pure heavy metal ruled the landscape.

Canadian heavy metal trio CAULDRON are offering fans a free, limited edition CHROMIUM DIOXIDE fanzine with limited edition copies of the band’s upcoming new album, BURNING FORTUNE.
Due to be released in Europe on February 14th and in North America on February 15th, the limited edition CD and vinyl versions of BURNING FORTUNE will include a free special edition copy of CHROMIUM DIOXIDE – a rare and collectible CAULDRON-themed issue of the magazine dedicated entirely to the young Canadian bangers.
CAULDRON frontman JASON DECAY comments:
“Chromium Dioxide is our favourite zine out there, plus we’re good friends with the creator, Phil, so when Earache suggested we include a Cauldron special edition of the magazine as a bonus with the new album, it was a no-brainer. It’s really an honor to have a magazine, let alone one of the most addictive reads out there, dedicate an entire – although mini – issue to us.”
CHROMIUM DIOXIDE creator PHILIP “PHILTHY” BERNARD adds:
“The initial project was entitled “Harry Potter & The Witch’s Warm Mouth”, but for copyright reasons, we decided on “Chromium Dioxide: Burning Fortune Special Edition”.
“The collaboration was natural and, I guess, somewhat inevitable. Funny thing is, the mag was born in the Cauldron jam space. We’d all be pounding back discount beers together, and while the boys practised, I’d be hanging out working my art projects. Basically an Alcoholics Unanimous meets a five-man Art Community Centre. We toyed with the idea of creating a band called Chromium Dioxide, named after that old cassette tape technology, but it never really came to pass due to hectic schedules… and my lack of musical talent. But I’m just fine just being the Sleazy P. Martini of Cauldron. We know our roles.
“The collaboration was just a fun way we’d all be on the same level – except this time I was on leads.”
As well as the limited edition CD and limited edition vinyl versions of BURNING FORTUNE, which include the free special edition of CHROMIUM DIOXIDE, the album is also available without the fanzine on low price CD.
