Whitesnake immediately set the bar high on Tuesday, June 21st at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair NJ for their Greatest Hits Tour!

The band was energetic and in touch with their audience’s desire to hear their hit songs while paying homage to their blues origin. The time-traveling experience covered the MTV video years from their three seminal albums; 1984’s Slide it In, 1987’s self-titled Whitesnake, and 1989’s Slip of the Tongue. Whitesnake remains a no-nonsense band and have one of the most charismatic frontmen – David Coverdale at the helm.

Derek St. Holmes of Whitford/St. Holmes  – Writing with Soul for Reunion CD

May 14th, 2016

Interview by  Robert Cavuoto

Derek St. Holmes

Derek St. Holmes

The dynamic duo of Whitford/St. Holmes have reunited for a new CD entitled, Reunion, and a tour with Whitesnake staring in June to kick it all off in style! Together they are recapturing the magic they had on their 1981 debut album release.  Brad Whitford  who is most famously known being the guitarist in Aerosmith and Derek St. Holmes for being the vocalist / guitarist for Uncle Ted Nugent have team up yet again after a long 30 year wait.

Though the years the two have remained friends, soul mates, and proving yet again they have what it takes to write and record a melodic blues inspired rock CD! With song titles like “Hells on Fire,” “Catch my Fall,” and “Hot for You” how can they not be smoking the blues!

When the two friends found themselves living in the same town on the outskirts of Nashville and working on catching up; they decided to revamp their collaboration. They recruited bassist Chopper Anderson, keyboardist Buck Johnson and on drums, Tesla’s Troy Luccketta to record the album.  The rest is history and in this interview!

I caught up with Derek St. Holmes to discuss the new CD, the collaborative approach he and Brad take to writing, as well as the importance of loving what you do and who you do it with!

Whitford St. Holmes – Reunion

Interview by Robert Cavuoto

Brad Whitford of Aerosmith and Derek St Holmes of Ted Nugent’s band have joined forces once again to develop a soulful, maximum infused CD entitled, Reunion,  due out this June. With melodic riffs generated from members of two of American’s biggest bands, the dynamic duo are reclaiming the magic to create their second CD in thirty years!

With Derek’s blues bravado vocals and Brad’s driving guitar riffs, the two unleash some memorable tunes like “Catch My Fall,” “Hot for You,” “Hell is on Fire,” and “Shake it.” Songs that steamrolls the listener and ignite the fires of the heart. To coincide with their release the boys are also partnering up with Whitesnake for a 17 show trek starting June 3rd in Dallas, TX.

I caught up with the legendary guitarist, Brad Whitford, to talk about their new CD, the tour with Whitesnake, and the future of Aerosmith.

Aerosmith: Live in Helsinki, Finland.

November 6th, 2007

AEROSMITH

07.07 2007

Hartwall Arena, Helsinki

The Boston based Aerosmith was one of the biggest rock bands of the ’70s. Even then the band had a unique ability to pull off both ballads and rockers which brought them a string of gold and platinum albums. “Toys in the Attic”, “Rocks” and “Draw the Line” amongst others are undeniable classics. After a while though, things started to change. In the early ’80s, the group lost their original lineup and soon after their audiences started to dissipate while some of the members suffered from serious intoxicant problems. As a result they were nearly destroyed, but somehow managed to pull their act together and in the late ’80s accomplish one of the most successful comebacks in history. Returning to the top of the charts with a series of albums like “Pump” and “Get a Grip”, with the help of MTV, they even managed to top the sales of their ’70s albums. To this day Aerosmith remains one of the biggest live acts in the rock world.
