Hardline Media proudly presents Paul Dianno and Blaze Bayley – former vocalists of Iron Maiden – performing together for the first time ever in Australia and New Zealand. In a world exclusive, for their co-headlining sets both singers will be belting out only Iron Maiden songs – classic tracks from their respective albums with one of the biggest heavy metal bands in the world. This promises to be a must-see event for any fan of Iron Maiden and heavy metal!
The tour will also mark Blaze Bayley’s first time Down Under, taking himself and Di’Anno all across Australia (including regional NSW dates) and New Zealand in late November/early December. While Di’Anno has successfully toured Australasian shores previously, it will be his first performing solely Iron Maiden songs.
Both artists have released a wealth of their own successful solo material, but as a special treat for ‘Maiden’ fans, to make this tour special they have agreed to only perform Iron Maiden tracks. This means that punters can expect to hear Di’Anno-era classics such as ‘Phantom Of The Opera’, ‘Wrathchild’, ‘Running Free’, ‘Sanctuary’, and ‘Killers’, along with classic Blaze-era cuts such as ‘Sign Of The Cross’, ‘Futureal’, ‘Lord Of The Flies’, ‘Man On The Edge’, and many more. The majority of these songs are hardly ever played live anymore by Iron Maiden, so fans will have the rare opportunity to hear them performed by the legendary vocalists who first recorded them.
This will be a dual headlining tour – whoever goes on last each night will be determined by the toss of a coin before the show. Fans are encouraged to get there early so as not to miss a minute of this special event.
Iron Maiden are one of the biggest names in heavy metal and the music industry as a whole. As leaders of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal movement in the early eighties, they would go on to become one of the biggest and most successful heavy metal bands of all time, influencing countless acts that followed and selling over 100 million records worldwide. As the original singer of Iron Maiden, Paul Di’Anno’s unique and aggressive vocals featured on their first two ground-breaking albums – the self-titled debut (1980) and its follow-up ‘Killers’ (1981). Both releases are widely regarded as classics and have sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. When Di’Anno’s successor Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden in the early nineties, Wolfsbane vocalist Blaze Bayley was selected to front the band out of hundreds who auditioned. Blaze would record two albums with Iron Maiden – 1995’s ‘The X Factor’ and 1998’s ‘Virtual XI’ – helping to ensure Iron Maiden’s prominence during the nineties when heavy metal was at a low point.
Two legendary vocalists together in Australia and New Zealand for the first time performing NOTHING but Iron Maiden (with likely a few surprises – such as sharing songs – thrown in as well). This is a must-see event for all heavy metal and hard rock fans.
* Special, extremely limited VIP tickets are available. These will gain you entry to the show, a VIP laminate, a few goodies, as well as the once in a lifetime chance of meeting both Paul Di’anno and Blaze Bayley before the show – get photos, get stuff signed, have a chat!
Wolfsbane are an English heavy metal/hard rock band that formed in Tamworth’s in the mid-80’s. In 1988 they were signed by Rick Rubin’s Def American label and the classic debut LIVE FAST, DIE FAST came out one year later. The band released two more studio albums (DOWN FALL THE GOOD GUYS and WOLFSBANE) until they disbanded in 1994 when lead singer Blaze Bayley went on to join Iron Maiden. After a couple of reunion shows in 2007 and 2009, Wolfsbane officially reunited in June 2010. The original four: Bayley, guitarist Jase Edwards, bassist Jeff Hateley and drummer Steve “Danger” Ellet are currently working on new studio album which should be released later on this year. In April 2011 they did several shows across the U.K supporting NWOBHM legends Saxon and when the tour reached the city called Bournemouth we had the pleasure to sit down and have a few pints with Jase, Jeff and Steve… Read on!

Sjutton också… The summer has arrived, hasn’t it?! Sunny, rainy, and even ice cold weather all together at Sweden Rock
However, it is time for the annual march to Sweden Rock. This is the ninth time in a row that Metal-Rules.com has made a vist to the mighty Sweden Rock festival! All in all over 70 bands had been booked for the Sweden Rock festival that turned out to be nothing but an utter blast from the beginning to the end! The bill of Sweden Rock 2009 covered everything from extreme metal ala Immortal to classic rock ala Journey and of course everything between. Therefore, there was at least something for everyone who attended. As a tradition the whole festival was once again sold out when approximately 35,200 people and all the bands and crews etc at the area every day. As mentioned in the first sentence, this is the ninth time in a row when Sweden Rock has been featured on the site Metal-Rules.com, so it is quite logical for us to give a real in-depth article of several bands performing at Sweden Rock. We are not able to cover every bloody band, but hopefully you will have a pleasant reading experience… Enjoy or die !!! Read the rest of this entry »
BLAZE BAYLEY is best known as the man who, at their darkest hour, infused IRON MAIDEN with new passion and enthusiasm and bestowed his voice and songwriting talent to THE X FACTOR and VIRTUAL XI albums in 1995 and 1998 respectively, as well as the track "Virus" on the "Best of the Beast" compilation in 1996. Blaze’s career did, not begin nor end with IRON MAIDEN. The debut album, called LIVE FAST DIE FAST, of his first professional band, WOLFSBANE, was released in 1989. A second album, DOWN FALL THE GOOD GUYS, followed in 1991 and finally, after a live album called MASSIVE NOISE INJECTION in 1993, the band put out their final, selftitled, album in 1994. After diverging from the ranks of IRON MAIDEN, Blaze forged on with a new band simply called BLAZE and released, against great adversity, three studio albums, SILICON MESSIAH in 2000, TENTH DIMENSION in 2002 and BLOOD AND BELIEF in 2004, as well as a live album called AS LIVE AS IT GETS in 2003. By the year 2007, BLAZE has been transformed into BLAZE BAYLEY with the summer seeing the release of the very first DVD from the band. Hopefully later in the year a new studio album, as well as an extensive world tour, will also be forthcoming. Read on to learn what Blaze Bayley has to say about his ordeals and endeavours, past, present and future.
Blaze Bayley of Iron Maiden Interviewed Jan. 1999 by David Lee
With over twenty years on the metal scene you would think that a band that has given so much to the genre would get a little respect now and then. Unfortunately for the mighty MAIDEN respect has been in particularly short supply over the last half decade. Personal and stylistic changes would seem to be at the root of all the fuss and with the decline of the metal market place you might think that these guys would chuck it all in. Fortunately, nothing could be further from the truth.
“VIRTUAL 11″ has a revitalized MAIDEN returning to the formula that made them the metal legends that they are. Also back is the completely over the top stage production for MAIDEN’s first tour in nearly three years. Just short of the scale that was used in the “golden era” of metal, this thing is impressive, to say the least. The beast is far from dead. Blaze Bayley, the groups current vocalist, gave us a ring recently and spoke to us of all things MAIDEN. A genuine sense of pride and accomplishment seemed to pervade the conversation and understandably so. The man is fronting one of the all time great metal bands and has just released a collection of tunes that will most assuredly become MAIDEN classics. We could go on singing his and the groups accolades but lets hear it from Blaze himself.
