BEHEMOTH posts “making of” for their new video, “Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me”

June 23rd, 2010

BEHEMOTH posts “making of” for their new video, “Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me” on Metal Blade TV
Masters of blackened death metal, BEHEMOTH, just shot a new production video for the track Alas, the Lord Is Upon Me off their latest release Evangelion, which was released August 11, 2009. The video was produced and directed by Rafal Szermanowicz and Grupa 13 who also shot BEHEMOTH’s videos for Ov Fire and the Void and At the Left Hand ov God. The “making of” video for Alas, The Lord Is Upon Me is live NOW on MetalBlade.tv HERE and can also be seen below:

Vocalist and guitarist Nergal comments on the band’s upcoming video for Alas, the Lord Is Upon Me:
“First of all, we’ve overcome ourselves with this new video clip. Period. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time. Pretty much no digital intervention, no blue boxes, no fake shit this time, but great filming, good acting, and a fuckin’ awesome storyline. It’s disturbing, crazy, and evil. We’ve had over 70 people working for us on this video so we can easily say it was the biggest production so far. I’m beyond excited! Wait and see.”

Dariusz Szermanowicz of Grupa #13 comments:
“This time we decided to make something different. We’d like to make video in ‘cinematic’ style without so many VFX like in last two videos. We found great location, we had dozen of actors and extras and awesome stylizing. During the 16 hours of hard work we’ve created amazingly killer video!”

Behemoth – Nergal

Interview by Alan Gilkeson

Soon to be released on Metal Blade records in North America, Behemoth’s EVANGELION attempts to further ensconce them in the Western Hemisphere’s Extreme Metal scene. One of only a handful of Polish band’s to ever make a name for themselves outside their country’s boundaries, Behemoth continue to defy all obstacles, becoming quite possibly the biggest band ever to come from their homeland. Known for debilitating live shows and massive riffs, sit back and enjoy the band’s founder, Nergal, as he explains what Behemoth is all about and how their new album is different from the rest.

TUSKA 2008

TUSKA 2008

Review by the Finnish team of Metal-Rules.com

"No Pain No Gain" as Scorpions used to sing, but the last weekend of June in the central park of Helsinki was nothing but pure pain from the beginning to the end in a good way. The Tuska Open Air metal festival has been taken place ten years in a row. The first festival took place at the Tavastia club back in 1998. As the years passed by, the festival has grown bigger and carved out its prestigious and now legendary reputation all around the world.

Traditional metal had a minor role on the roster of Tuska 2008. Extreme metal, in different forms, attracted and had drawn many extreme metal hearts. As well, metalcore bands KillSwitch Engage landed at Tuska for the first time with a massive impact. The younger audience appeared to be delighted about that. Power metal had the strongest presence as it had a dominating role last year. But booking Slayer, Carcass, and Morbid Angel were extreme brilliant achievements.

Even though the festival was sold out several months ago, the most  surprising thing from the Tuska organization was to let people of the age of 70+ go in for free! All in all a few hundred metal grandpa and grandma’s were witnessed headbanging for several bands!!!

As usual, the whole three piece Finnish Metal-Rules.Com squad attended Tuska again to sense a reek of putrefaction, feel raining blood and obtain the pleasure to kill. Enjoy!!

London ULU

7th February 2008

All pics and live review by HannTu

Once in a rare while, there comes a week where everything happens. In the period of 7 days between 2nd February and 9th February there were 5 high profile gigs happening in London: Primordial, Obituary, Municipal Waste, Behemoth and Dark Tranquillity. Sometimes I almost think we have a choice. Sadly I missed the Obituary gig, but never fear, the others are well covered.

Primordial’s TO THE NAMELESS DEAD was my number 2 of 2007, and guess who was number 1…

…Yes, Behemoth’s THE APOSTASY was my numero uno of 2007. Number 2 and Number 1, in London, within the space of 3 or 4 days. There MIGHT actually be a god…Canadian veterans Kataklysm were supposed to be the opener for Behemoth throughout the UK and Iberia tour, but they took time out from touring to rest, relax and finish writing their new album. Best of luck to them, although it would’ve been ace to see them open for Behemoth. In their place were Polish black/death band Devilish Impressions and deathcore band Suicide Silence.

SE CONQUER ALL FESTIVAL – Gaelic Theatre, Sydney 14 January 2006

April 21st, 2006

SE CONQUER ALL FESTIVAL
BEHEMOTH with HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH, The Amenta, The Furor, Psychroptic, Ebolie, Flesh Mechanic, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace
Gaelic Theatre, Sydney 14 January 2006

by Brat and Turner, photos by Brat

There is something to be said about the music we listen to representing the state of our mind. Those of you who have met me on the forum, at a gig or festival, or have read other reviews I have written will know that I’m the flower metal chick, so it’s understanding that I received so many questions and shocked reactions when I voiced my intentions of seeing BEHEMOTH. Plus HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH were playing and I wanted to see them again.
Since Christmas, when I was forced to deal with some extreme emotions, I haven’t been able, and have even been afraid, to listen to power metal or any music where the lyrics have been understandable. It was time to load some aggressive music onto my iPod which wouldn’t take me on an emotional rollercoaster ride and the waiting promo copies of the new Exodus, Hypocrisy and Old Man’s Child were just what I needed. In need of more mind-numbing escapism, I then went in search of the latest BEHEMOTH CD, “Demigod”, but obviously I wasn’t the only person in Sydney who wanted to hear the latest offering before seeing them live so all I was left with was “Grom”. OK, so I’ll get a history lesson instead before I see them in the flesh. While I was at it, I picked up the HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH CD “Hobbs Satan Crusade” which seems to be a local 2003 best of release.

On tour with Krisiun, Behemoth, Ragnarok and Incantation

On tour with Krisiun, Behemoth,
Ragnarok and Incantation

By Stacy Young
Germany, Sweden & Norway
2 November 2004 ? 8 November 2004

What better way to celebrate being American than to leave the US on the eve of election day for fear that Bush might actually get re-elected.  I did vote early, but in a country where popular votes are merely guidelines for how the electoral college ?should? vote, it was very unlikely that the incumbent would be ousted.  Unfortunately, Bush did manage to get re-elected and we still have our farce of a fair election.  Wouldn?t it be nice to actually be able to vote for the President and have our votes count?  So with all this in mind, I packed my bags and went for a week of headbanging with the European metalheads.  Lucky enough to have friends in high places (or is it low?), I caught up with the amazing tour package of Krisiun, Behemoth, Ragnarok and Incantation for several shows.
