BARN BURNER announces east coast US tour dates with Ramming Speed!; Video shoot for “Scum of the Earth” planned for August

July 8th, 2011

Barn Burner recently completed a Canadian tour with 3 Inches of Blood and Cancer Bats and a headlining tour through the west coast of the US. Of course, seeing as the band loves to party on the road, they’re heading right back out in July and August with Ramming Speed. The tour gives east coasters a killer opportunity to catch two of the best up-and-coming rock/thrash bands in intimate, party-friendly settings.

Barn Burner’s second album, Bangers II: Scum of the Earth, saw the band once again teaming up with producer/engineer Adrian Popovich (Tricky Woo, Priestess, Sam Roberts, The Dears, and Sebastian Grainger) to create a truly original heavy metal record. While maintaining some of the core aspects of their previous record, Barn Burner have captured something more intense, taking steps to create an album more dynamic then their last. Having already toured Canada, the U.S. and Europe with the likes of Priestess, Bison B.C., and 3 inches of Blood, Barn Burner intend to continue its war path in support of the Metal Blade release of Bangers II.

BARN BURNER announce Canadian tour!

March 2nd, 2011

LET’S PARTY!!!!…is one of Kevin Keegan’s famous quotes.  And they will be doing just that with the announcement of a new tour with 3 Inches Of Blood and Cancer Bats!

Kevin tells us “we will be hitting the road with 3 inches of Blood and Cancer Bats in May in Canada so look forward to us bothering you for a place to stay on our way across Canada with a couple of the most killer bands this country has to offer. We should have our new album out by then so let’s party!”

Montreal, QC natives, Barn Burner, are now done laying tracks for their follow up to Bangers, their critically acclaimed Metal Blade Records debut. The band has been touring and working on new tunes for upwards of two years now, and are hungry to get these new songs in your brain!

Vocalist/guitarist Kevin Keegan has offered up the following update: “We have been itching to get back into the studio and record what we have been working on for 2 years now. The new tunes are fiercer but still catchy enough to show to your dad. Excited to work with Adrian Popovich at Mountain City again and drink all of his shitty coffee. Basically, this new record will just give us more excuses to drink beer and play shows.”

Have no doubts Barn Burner will do just that – drink beer and play shows!

Barn Burner – Kevin Keegan

Interviewed by EvilG

Hailing from Canada’s heavy metal capital, Montreal,  Barn Burner are a new band to Metal Blade Records that provides a refreshing change of pace. While their bio claims they are a “3 headed love child of Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy and Fu Manchu” there is just as much Black Sabbath and Priestess (another great Montreal band) in their style. The band’s album BANGERS was originally released on New Romance for Kids Records but with their signing to Metal Blade, BANGERS is now being released under their banner. I got to speak with the band vocalist/guitarist, Kevin Keegan.
