Jeff Duncan, a fixture of the Los Angeles hard rock and heavy metal scene for more than 3 decades will be relocating his residency to Las Vegas later this month. Duncan, considered a veteran guitar virtuoso, is excited about his move to Sin City. “This move is just what the doctor ordered,” says Duncan. “My passion in life is, and has always been playing music. I will continue to be very involved with my bands, Armored Saint and DC4, but I will now have the ability to play and teach music for a living during down times with my current bands. Las Vegas offers this opportunity, along with an affordable cost of living. LA has been very good to me, but I am looking forward to the change”
Duncan will join a long list of hard rock/heavy metal musicians who call Las Vegas home including; Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Vinnie Paul (Pantera, Hellyeah), Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) Jimmy Crespo, (Aerosmith), Ron Keel (Steeler, Keel), Brent Muscat (Faster Pussycat), Oz Fox (Stryper), Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, King Kobra) and others. “Although I am making the move by myself, I have many friends and acquaintances in Las Vegas, all who have been very supportive, encouraging, and welcoming. I’m excited to get to work.”
The official announcement of Duncan’s move was not supposed to be made public until November 1st, but the cat was let out of the bag recently when Duncan sat in with Las Vegas favorite, the Sin City Sinners. “Zack Throne with the Sin City Sinners and I have been friends for decades.” says Duncan. “After we played a couple songs together, he told the crowd prematurely that I had moved to Las Vegas. It was one of those ‘oops’ moments. I had a blast with those guys, and hope to jam with them again soon.”
One of his first orders of business will be relocating his guitar school to Las Vegas. “It’s a very satisfying thing to watch someone’s progression on the guitar, and know that you had a hand in getting them there” says the guitar whiz. “Jeff’s Planet Guitar School did awesome in LA. We offer reasonable rates, and unparalleled personal attention. I think that it will be a home run in Las Vegas.”
Agoura Hills, CA – February 22nd, 2012 – LA’s Armored Saint are excited to announce that they’ll be heading to Europe in July. At Sonisphere in France, the Saint will be playing on the same day as Ghost, Evanescence, Wolfmother, Soulfly, Lacuna Coil, and more. Band Your Head’s list of confirmed band’s includes Arch Enemy, Exodus, Thin Lizzy, Primordial, and more. Dong Open Air also features Napalm Death, Sepultura, and many others. Along with the festival appearances, Armored Saint will be playing three headlining shows with UK’s Collapse as the supporting act.
Armored Saint’s John Bush elaborates on the dates: “I’m very excited for our upcoming summer dates. First, Armored Saint has never played in France. Not only are we doing the awesome Sonisphere show, we are also doing a headline club show in Paris. About fucking time. Also, we’re extremely pumped to play the Bang Your Head festival again. It’s one of the best metal shows in Germany. Plus, we get to be part of the DONG festival. First time there. The tour wouldn’t be complete without playing in Holland, which is the first country Armored Saint ever played in Europe back in 1989; and Zurich, where it will be our first time to headline in the beautiful country of Switzerland. Armored Saint doesn’t tour all that often so come out and join us, cause you’re never sure when or if we’ll be touring again. We’ll be playing songs from our entire catalog as well as from our most recent record, La Raza, which we’re extremely proud of. See ya this summer.”

Los Angeles-based metallers ARMORED SAINT has been listening to East Coast US fans clamber for a Saint show for years, and finally they are prepared to answer the call. The band will be returning to New York for the first time in 20 years along with two other shows in Amityville, NY and Allentown, PA. Armored Saint will be playing songs from their latest album, La Raza, as well as a set full of songs from throughout their deep and storied catalog. Support on these dates comes from fellow metal veterans SEVEN WITCHES.
Joey Vera discusses the shows further: “In July, we held a poll asking fans to choose their favorite Saint songs and we compiled a list of the top 10. At recent gigs in Los Angeles and in Germany, we would allow fans to come up and choose one of the top 10 songs for us to play, right there on the spot. We did this three times during our set. It was such a good time that we’re going to do this again for our tri-state shows. John Bush will stop the show at three different times and choose someone from the crowd to come up and pick what song we play next. So come down and be a part of choosing our set list for the night!”
LA’s Armored Saint will be performing their first, and possibly only, shows for 2011 this summer! Tickets for the Key Club show are on sale now at ticketfly.com and 8thdaytix.com. Tickets for Lillehammer can be found at rocklillehammer.no.

“[John Bush] one of metal’s mightiest voices” The Orange County Register
“The Saint sound exuberant and fully bonded…a contemporary classic rock feel accessible enough to take on Audioslave or Velvet Revolver on their own terms, and win hard.” Terrorizer Magazine
“La Raza is balls out and brick heavy.” Outburn Magazine
“Simply put, this is the finest record of their career and almost a reaffirmation of the reasons why John and Joey turned down Metallica all those years ago.” Metal Hammer Magazine
Armored Saint will be playing at The Avalon in Santa Clara, CA on Saturday, October 16th! The guys had planned on only playing one show this year but wanted to bring the Saint up to the bay area before the year was through.
To make this event even more special, ARMORED SAINT will be doing a signing at the venue from 7:30pm until 8:15pm. Fans can bring their ARMORED SAINT albums and memorabilia for the band to sign, or purchase new merch and cds at the show!
Joey Vera adds; “We know we said that our Los Angeles show in May was going to be our only show this year, but some things changed with John Bush’s availability so we decided to play a show for our Bay Area brothers and sisters. Come on out!”

Brian Posehn is a lifelong heavy metal fan in addition to being a popular actor, comedian and comic book writer. It would only make sense then; for Brian to team up with metal musician pals like Scott Ian (Anthrax) Satchel (Steel Panther) Joey Vera (Armored Saint) and John Tempesta (White Zombie, ex-Testament) to record two songs for the 2006 Relapse Records release "Brian Posehn – Live In: Nerd Rage" album. A disc that showcases the stand up routine of heavy metal’s resident funnyman alongside his first musical output. The result is hilarious to say the least, with the single "Metal By Numbers" gawking at "Nu-Metal" and "Emo" posers. The single even spawned a very silly music video.
Now riding a generous wave of notoriety from his work on the hit Comedy Central program "The Sarah Silverman Show" Brian is gearing up to record a follow up record. I caught up with Brian recently on a particularly drizzly afternoon at the second day of this years "Fun Fun Fun Fest" in Austin, Texas where he was performing his stand up routine on an eclectic bill that also featured headliner Danzig and crossover legends D.R.I. amongst indie rock, alternative and hip hop acts.Brian filled me in on how he originally got into metal music, his plan’s for his metal band "Posehn" the upcoming season of "The Sarah Silverman Show" and his recently released zombie comic "The Last Christmas" You can expect quite a bit from Brian next year including a new album, touring and more laughs. Be sure to catch him live when he comes to town!
Lizzy Borden carved his name to metal world in the 80’s with the horror looking visual stage show as well as look. All in all four full lengths came out of Lizzy’s horror dungeon during the 80’s, until he kind of vanished from the map without leaving many traces in the 90’s. Even though the 90’s was quite a silent period for Lizzy, he worked on his side project band Starwood. In 2000 the brand new album DEAL WITH THE DEVIL came out, but once again it took for about seven years to get the excellent APPOINTMENT WITH DEATH out. Lizzy and his horror masked crew arrived at Swedenrock. Therefore we had an excellent opportunity of questioning about his new album and the past and the present and the future. This interview was done at Swedenrock in the beginning of June, but it is timeless and extremely detailed.
