BOBBY JARZOMBEK – Part 3 of ARCH/MATHEOS ‘In the Studio’ posted

December 13th, 2011

Drummer Bobby Jarzombek (FATES WARNING, RIOT, SEBASTIAN BACH, HALFORD) has posted Part 3 of ‘In the Studio’ with ARCH/MATHEOS on his official YouTube channel at this location http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMlfjZhNlSI.

The 15-minute clip features the intro to ‘Stained Glass Sky’ and a lengthy excerpt of ‘Neurotically Wired’ off the band’s highly acclaimed off the band’s ‘Sympathetic Resonance’ album as well a video commentary about the recording process which took place at Carriage House Studios in Stamford, CT.

Talking to Sick Drummer magazine as part of an extensive cover story http://www.sickdrummermagazine.com/issue21_free/, Jarzombek had this to say about the making of ‘Sympathetic Resonance’: “I wanted to make sure that Jim and I were on the same page, so as I worked on the songs I started recording demo versions of everything and started sending Jim (Matheos) my multi-track drum recordings of the songs. Jim listened and made comments and maybe asked me to make a few changes along the way. I made the changes and solidified everything. I wanted to be prepared as possible before going into the studio. I’m definitely not a ‘wing-it’ type of drummer when it comes to progressive stuff. Everything was good but the only problem was that Jim and John weren’t working at a fast pace and I was touring a lot in 2010 with both Sebastian (Bach) and Halford so I wasn’t working on it while on the road. So even though Jim and I started exchanging files in early 2010, it wasn’t until January of 2011 that I was scheduled to record my drum tracks at Carriage House Studios. I was scheduled for 4 days to record all my drum tracks but due to the intense weather in Connecticut in January 2010, my flight was cancelled, then re-booked a day later into another airport, etc. and so my recording days were reduced to 3 days. But it all worked out. I had already demoed 90% of everything so I was ready to go, and there were minimal things that we worked out in the studio. Pieces of ‘Incense And Myrrh’ and the endings section of ‘Any Given Day’ were worked out in the studio, but everything else was about me getting good performances on tape.”

ARCH/MATHEOS will be making their eagerly anticipated live debut next April with a headline appearance at Germany’s Keep It True Festival where the band is set to play a cross section of John Arch era FATES WARNING favorites in addition to cuts off ‘Sympathetic Resonance.’
