Arriving at Wembley Park station with the American Football event at the stadium just next door is not something I would like to happen again: walking against the flow of thousand and thousand of sport fans leaving the 90,000 seats capacity of the stadium is quite an experience!

Iron Maiden: Maiden England Tour with Alice Cooper – Prudential Center, New Jersey July 2 2012

August 12th, 2012

Review and pics by Infamousbutcher

Iron Maiden is at it again, recreating another classic tour from the 80s for the fans. In 2005, Maiden did the Eddie Rips Up The World Tour, focusing on their first four albums. Then in 2008, they focused on the 80s and called the tour Somewhere Back in Time. Now in 2012 Maiden is doing the Maiden England Tour, emulating the Seventh Son of a Seventh Son tour from 1988. I love this kind of stuff, reliving the old glory days when you first discovered a band; like when Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax revisited the Clash of the Titans tour in 2010. As an added bonus, shock rock living legend Alice Cooper is opening for Maiden on this tour! Are you kidding me? How f&^king awesome is that?!?

ALICE COOPER drummer Gen Sobel forced to take a break from the road

June 29th, 2012

Drummer Glen Sobel has been forced to take a temporary leave of absence from the ALICE COOPER band due to a persisitent neck injury. Taking over drum duties for Sobel is veteran drummer Jonathan Mover whose credits include Joe Satriani, Fuel, GTR, among many others.

Commented ALICE COOPER: “Glen Sobel‘s been having some neck problems, and has been playing the shows in a lot of pain. Because of this, he needs to take a short break to heal. Luckily for us, and for you, Jonathan Mover (from the “Trash” tour and the “Trashes The World” live concert video) was available to help out on short notice. We rehearsed with Jonathan yesterday in New York City and we’re all excited about tonight’s show in Camden with him. We’re looking forward to having Glen back soon.”

Said Glen: “I’ll be off the Alice tour for a few weeks. I’ve played the last several shows on pain meds due to an inflamed neck situation. We’ve had some of the best shows on tour with Iron Maiden, so I wanted to do everything I could to stay in the game. I need to get back to LA, have this treated, and then return to finish out our tour dates. In the meantime, my main man Jonathan Mover, an Alice band alumni himself, will be sitting on the drum throne covering for me. I have the utmost confidence that he will deliver the goods along with all my brothers (and sister) in the Alice band. Don’t worry about me, I’ll be back sooner than later.”

A video statement by Glen can be viewed at this location:

ALICE COOPER – “I think there will eventually be a Broadway play just called Alice”

September 14th, 2011
Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 my nightmare

Alice Cooper - Welcome 2 my nightmare

In a new interview on the national news site with Alice Cooper, the rock legend gave his thoughts about his new album along with his opinions on KISS, Marilyn Manson and who should follow him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (Burt Bacharach being his top pick!).

When asked what his next career goal was, Alice said:

“A Broadway play. I think there will eventually be a Broadway play just called Alice. And it’ll be about the life of Alice Cooper, all about the alcoholism; there’s a lot of great stuff going on in there. You’ve got the connection to Groucho Marx and Salvador Dalí, and there’s a billion ways to go with that. And I would love to see somebody else play Alice, you know? I think that that would be fun. Or I wouldn’t mind doing Welcome to My Nightmare parts one and two on Broadway myself and turn it into a Broadway play, but not water it down; keep it as electric and loud as it is in a regular concert. They kind of watered [the Who’s] Tommy down; when you put rock on Broadway they suddenly start making it viable to the 80-year-old in Iowa that wants to come in and see a show, and they start softening it. I would never do that; I’ll keep it just as hard as it is!”

Welcome 2 My Nightmare is available now. For more information and upcoming tour dates, visit Alice’s homepage at

STEVE HUNTER – Alice Cooper, Lou Reed, David Lee Roth etc

August 3rd, 2011
Steve Hunter

Steve “The Deacon” Hunter is an American guitarist best known for his collaborations with Alice Cooper and Lou Reed. Hunter is also well known about his long term association with record producer Bob Ezrin with whom they’ve been doing collaboration since the early 70’s. Hunter appeared on five classic Alice Cooper albums: BILLION DOLLAR BABIES, WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE, LACE AND WHISKEY and ALICE COOPER GOES TO HELL. Hunter, alongside with guitarist Dick Wagner, also appeared on the classic film ‘Welcome To My Nightmare’, which released on home video in 1976 and it featured the guitar battle between Hunter and Wagner. Both had played together in many different occasions before and after Alice Cooper including Lou Reed’s BERLIN and ROCK’N ROLL ANIMAL albums, Peter Gabriel’s solo debut and many more. Hunter quit working with Cooper in 1978 and since then the man has released several solo albums and worked with such names as Jack Bruce and David Lee Roth just to name a few in here. In March of 2011 Alice Cooper announced that Hunter would be returning to the band for the upcoming tour and brand new album entitled WELCOME 2 MY NIGHTMARE which is once again produced by Bob Ezrin.  Cooper’s latest NO MORE MR. NICE GUY tour reached Finland in early July and then we had a pleasure to talk with Mr. Hunter himself and hear the latest from Cooper’s camp as well as some great stories from the past as well.
