Debut album of Empty Playground contains over 50 minutes of extreme sound entitled “Under Dead Skin” and was released in April via Witching Hour (distributed by Listenable and Plastic Head among others). The band is using classical gore riffs to transform them into black metal fused with electronic beats! The most astonishing thing about Empty Playground is how they handle the variety of sounds & genres. All this has been neatly done, both musically by Wieslawski Brothers in Hertz Studio, and visually by Krysiuk&Kajko duo with the help of make-up artist Grzegorz Gawrysiak. All this is sealed in a 9 panel digipack T-letter fold with graphics created by mentalporn.com.
Along with the debut album comes 500 copies hand numbered 7″ EP entitled “Make My Pain Go Away” on red vinyl. We’ve got also special packs with t-shirts & EP’s. Check it out in Witching Hour webstore – www.witchinghour.pl/shop .

Confirmed tour dates are as follows:

July 23rd – The Rave, Milwaukee, WI with Soilwork, Death Angel, Augury, Mutiny Within, Swashbuckle
July 24th – The Rock, Maplewood, MN with Soilwork, Death Angel, Augury, Mutiny Within, Swashbuckle

White elaborates on his relationship with music and playing live: “I have been making music since I was old enough to be in school band. My dad taught me how to play the drums and I played sax in the jazz ensemble. I’m self taught on bass and guitar. My best live performance experience so far was getting to open for The Dillinger Escape Plan. They are the band that shaped my view of metal to where it is today, and getting to play with them was an amazing honor.”
Dreaming Saturn, praised by Outburn Magazine for being “more than math [for] combining the best elements of Meshuggah, Cynic and Psyopus,” was released worldwide in April.
Pasadena, Calif.’s GYPSYHAWK have signed with Creator-Destructor Records and will release the band’s debut album, ‘Patience And Perseverance’ July 6 on CD and double gatefold LP through the Bay Area-based record label. The band will also depart for a West Coast tour in early July to support the release, heading up to Seattle and back.
Inspired by Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, and 70s rock of all sorts, GYPSYHAWK is led by former Skeletonwitch member Eric Harris (bass/vocals) and rounded out by Scotty Conant, Andrew Packer (guitars), and Joe Fabio (drums). The latter recorded and mixed the band’s eight-track demo that surfaced in late 2009. Since the formation of GYPSYHAWK, the band has played in and around Los Angeles and Hollywood, and even the Bay Area, before and during their recording schedule with producer Zack Ohren (Animosity, All Shall Perish, Heartsounds) at Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, Calif.
Extreme metal legends have united as INSIDIOUS DISEASE will unleash the most violent death metal album to come along in years. The evil breed consisting of Dimmu Borgir’s main songwriter Silenoz, bassist Shane Embury (Napalm Death), guitarist Jardar (Old Mans Child), drummer Tony Laureano (Angelcorpse, Nile) and vocalist Marc Grewe (from German death metal legends Morgoth) will release its debut album Shadowcast via Century Media Records on July 12th in Europe and July 27th in North America.
INSIDIOUS DISEASE is proud to unveil a brand new artwork trailer for Shadowcast offering a glimpse at the morbid visuals accompanying the release. Click on the link below to check it out now.
Silenoz further explains the concept of Shadowcast, which has way more to offer than just typical death metal gore galore: “The basic idea behind Shadowcast lyrically is an attempt to describe the ‘misfits’ in this world: the misunderstood, mentally defect and depraved individuals that walk among us – rapists, serial killers, pedophiles, necrophiles and drug addicts, etc. It could be your neighbor, you just never know, it could be YOU!
“Denial and self-denial are taboos that seldom are touched upon unless it’s behind closed doors at the shrink’s office. Even so, no matter how disturbing the subject might be, we hardly get to the bottom of it. Each text tries to approach the many outcast stereotypes we face in today’s modern society, and how most of them once caught get neglected and pushed away instead of being offered proper assistance, support and help through various institutions according to their ‘needs.’ Let’s face it, we humans equal shit.
“In some countries where death penalties apply the convicts also have to wait years before being executed, which is inhumane as things need to be dealt with as soon as possible. We humans are better at pushing things away and destroying than facing a problem and try to rehabilitate. Most people reading the lyrics and seeing the booklet photos will perhaps immediately assume that it’s all about glorifying violence and hatred, but if you read between the lines it’s actually kind of the opposite, portraying this very issue.
“So, the album title Shadowcast has somewhat of a double meaning; all of these ‘actors and actresses’ star in the shadowcast. They are the true stars of the underground, our very own dark backyard. The backyard we humans hate dealing with because it means interacting with other people and as they mingle among us daily they continue to ‘cast their shadows’ at us.”
INSIDIOUS DISEASE also faced serious problems during the manufacturing process as pressing plants refused to produce the original design of the booklet due to its violent content as well as print the equally controversial lyrics, Silenoz states: “It’s quite fascinating that in the year of 2010 album artwork can be so scary that manufacturing plants don’t even dare to print it. I always thought reality still was more frightening compared to art in that sense, but I guess I was wrong! Controversy is still to be reckoned with in the world of metal and if we’re being censored for being realistic and touch upon human flaws through our lyrics and art – then so be it.”

Irish thrashers GAMA BOMB have announced a free show in London, UK this July, just days before the band kicks off a UK tour supporting Brazilian thrash legends SEPULTURA.
GAMA BOMB, who have recently been confirmed for their first ever US tour with OVERKILL, FORBIDDEN, EVILE and BONDED BY BLOOD later this year, will be playing the free show on July 12th at The Unicorn in London with support from local thrashers DAMNAS. GAMA BOMB kick off their UK tour with SEPULTURA on July 14th in Bristol.
Frontman PHILLY BYRNE describes the experience of witnessing a GAMA BOMB show:
“In many ways a GAMA BOMB gig is like a Ryanair flight. Firstly, our ‘passengers’ are subjected to a sonic barrage of babbled spoken word and mechanical screaming noises by a crew of foreign people who look bad in tight-fitting clothes – namely, us. Secondly, we’re constantly trying to force people to drink sub-standard liquor and buy shoddy mementos. Finally, our gigs often end with a bumpy landing and a round of applause that half the crowd don’t think is deserved. We’re looking forward to hanging out with old friends and meeting some new ones on this UK tour with Sepultura. Oh, and we’re going to start charging fans to use the toilet. Thanks for flying Gama Bomb, Europe’s number one budget thrash band.” Read the rest of this entry »

I have tried to see TURISAS twice at Wacken Open Air. The first time in 2005 when it was wet and cold and they were playing at 2 am and all I could think about was raising my body temperature with a warm shower. The second time in 2007 they were playing on the Wet Stage and the tent was so crammed, you couldn’t even get near the entry.
When their Australian tour was announced I was ecstatic, but I didn’t purchase my tickets straight away — I’d already been disappointed by the promoter with the cancellation of the PARADISE LOST tour. Sure enough, the TURISAS tour was canceled and if I hadn’t received an email from Soundwave Touring (of Soundwave Festivals fame) announcing the reinstatement of the tour, I’d have never known it was canceled in the first place. The unfortunate casualty of the off/on status of the tour was the Brisbane venue had already filled the vacant date and TURISAS was only going to play Sydney and Melbourne.
